  1. Javelins on special about the same price as a T55 tank. Use two Javelins and the Russians are way ahead. But here comes the pitch, an updated T55 tank is also equipped with ATGMs shooting through the gun barrel nowadays. I agree with @Erwin in this case. Better have them at different firing positions.
  2. @SimpleSimon in Battle for Normandy I encountered 2 Recon scenarios. In an Attack or Assault the recon is supposed to be finished. If you have ACs in your scenario do a recon by fire on places you suspect an enemy presence. In SF2 I had satisfactory results with my Scimitars they spot really good whilst driving on highspeed. In WW2 Jeeps with a .50 Cal also recon by fire. Be the first and last one to shoot during the 1 minute real time playing WeGo. If a vehicle gets hit at least get a contact icon of the SOB who did it.
  3. If you have two full contacts than you plot direct fire with your LOS tool. The TacAI has the awareness of a fly it is one the things you put up with playing on WeGo. Remember ATGM teams are pretty much invisible at their optimal range is 1km-3km. I would plot one and let the other to the TacAI.
  4. Waal is the correct name in Dutch. It is a branch of the Rhine river. I don't think that there is a translation in English.
  5. Target Arcs. We must real bide our time when plotting the next turn. Even using the face command makes a difference,
  6. It discourages people to put down their payment for preorders. I have never done that, like they said in the old country. "Boter bij de vis."
  7. @RMM the important thing is that as many people as possible should enjoy the game. If you like Camera 3 or 4 who am I to say you shouldn't? I feel I am a little bit of a cheat when I disable trees and view it from a bird's eye view. Oops there must be a bunker foxhole or trench. Happy gaming
  8. Camera position 5-9 to resemble military maps (topographic or roadmaps), function to plot move or for FO use commands without revealing eg bunker or pillbox dents in the terrain. Foxholes deemed to be camouflaged it will enable us to have proper standing patrols. Game integrity, example to make trees disappear. Camera 1 POV selected unit, Camera 2 POV Fighting compartment AFV. The use of Camera 3 and 4 I can't see the use of. If you occupy key terrain or hilltops your spotting ability will improve dramatically.
  9. @Freyberg depends on the mission. Huzzar in Battle for Normandy the mission is recon the Germans have the same mission. Is it meeting or recon? In meetings they are great be the first on location with the mostest. Attack I always dedicate a third of my forces of the capture of terrain two thirds of eliminating the enemy. Capture of terrain supported by fast mobile units obviously Armoured cars overwatch and communication. You will occur losses with scouting vehicles, the vehicles are expendable their crew is not. The same reason I don't indulge in the gamey practice by sending two men on a suicide mission a human player won't fall for it. Scout cars an 88mm controlled by the AI will shoot at it a human player is not that silly. Two veterans on over watch to spot while two team do a movement to contact. Every player here has their own ideas how CM should be played and enjoyed.
  10. The way to prove a point. I had it in RT Engine 3 at the time. Since then, I dismount a feature away from where my objective is. Apologies to @Vergeltungswaffe sometimes a little thing changes. It is like 2men scouting missions now they peek from two corners of a house. Thanks and happy gaming.
  11. @Jabble It is not hard to understand. To dismount before the AFV moves you select the passenger unit and then click dismount, if you want to dismount after the AFV has moved you just plot a move order. The unit will then move after the AFV has completed the move order. However if the AFV moves under a 'Hunt' order and stops because it has sighted an enemy unit the hunt order is automatically canceled and hereby the dismount move of its passenger. As the dismount applies at the waypoint which has just been deleted. Long time since I have been caught like that, security, and recon. Before you commit an AFV with passengers.
  12. You will see if the hunting AFV stops because it is engaging its passengers won't dismount. They will dismount only at the planned waypoint.
  13. If you play on WeGo. That the game pauses if there is an emergency eg a unit starts to flicker. You will have access to one of these emergency buttons. I feel it would make the game more realistic.
  14. Then we get people who don't like this they like to suppress first. Till about 40 years ago I played social cricket. A grenade is a little like a cricket-ball. To throw it back to the wicket keeper 50 yards by a very good player, to hit the stumps which would be akin to throw a grenade through a window you do very well at 25mtrs. I would say cut the distances in half for this game and it is about what the designers came up with. In the US they play baseball, but they have a similar idea. Joking aside throwing grenades is a little stressful first time at the range compare it dealing with an enemy who has the same idea. Roll of the dice is I am afraid the best anybody can come up with.
  15. Slow is hiding whilst moving cons it tires you out quickly. Hunt is to be more situational aware. Vehicles move actually faster than on slow or move, infantry is in cautious mode and go slowly. Move for infantry is typically moving in a secure area. It depends on the terrain example infantry on slow among tall grass. Slow for an AFV is Quick for an infantry unit. APC's or halftracks or any other vehicle should move fast it is the only defense they have. Tanks carrying passengers go on hunt and it comes down on tactics. If they get taken out we have to work out a different tactic.
  16. Did you test that? I did and it didn't. My default move was on the last way point of the T34. That waypoint was automatically canceled because of the hunt move of the T34. You must watch for the remainder of the turn how they get wiped out. It comes down to choice in this game. Play on RTS you can stop whenever on WeGo suffer the consequences of a silly move.
  17. Pervitin aka amphetamine. Is it part of the game? I found this YT video about the subject. Hope the translate function works. Wie war das Leben als deutscher Soldat im zweiten Weltkrieg? - YouTube
  18. Hiding means the crew hides where it is safe, eg the bottom of the foxhole. It is like @Bulletpointdescribes this issue the gun should be impossible to spot unless it fires. ATGs are members of a team. The HQ is the spotter task to unhide and assign targets.
  19. You're welcome to play Elite or Iron if you don't play it already, it is not for everybody. The important thing is to have fun, once an ATG moves or fires the camouflage no longer applies (You need forest or a heavy shrub environment). Recommended position above a foxhole the crew on hide will be save. C2 are the key I found a unit with a contact icon of the other will get the first shot in. German ATGs are deadly at over 1km but once spotted they are on borrowed time.
  20. Firepower is Observation and Communication and the Fire Position. The HQ gets the intel and if you set it up properly the ATG's wil get the contact icon. Your first hit probability will increase. Make sure they are in contact with their HQ. They are not rules, but micromanaging the game is the key to success. Example a Sherman spots a Tiger the strength of a Sherman Tank is the Radio and its Optics. The strength of the US in WW2 was communications. Your C2 will enable that the ATGs and their HQ will get the Contact Icon of the Sherman. You will enable Armor Cover Arcs at the right time and the right spot. The Sherman no longer fights alone vs a better armed and armored AFV. Contact icons increases the odds of a hit vs a miss. Your observation, radio and fire positions should be near each other but not in the same position. The Soviets were the worse equipped with radios compared with the western allies and Germany. The US was at the time state of the art.
  21. @Jabble Hunt because it is one mode in which the AI gets too silly for words sometimes. In Red Thunder the T34 stops because it spots a Tiger, all its passengers sit on the engine-deck as nothing is happening. The other reason with 'Hunt' you appreciate there is a risk factor. Hunt can become available if the Unit has a contact icon it encourages you to be honest with the C2 network.
  22. In the beginning of a game an AT gun is supposed to be camouflaged. It is recommended to position an ATG in a foxhole. If you go into hiding in a foxhole the crew is deemed to cover in the bottom of the foxhole. When you put a unit into hiding on the left corner you see clearly what the hiding unit is doing. Make sure their HQ is in a tactically correct position.
  23. Camera position1 one segment up with the mouse wheel gives you the P.O.V from the fighting compartment. To click the waypoint, go to the bottom of the screen till your movement order changes into an arrow, now move up till you just regain your way point now click to get your waypoint. Check with the LOS tool.
  24. @RMM We have WeGo and RTS. They could have something in between. The game pauses but you can only edit the units which were on hunt. Making suggestions is easy to rewrite the engine is not. Happy gaming ☺
  25. When you make contact on hunt all your orders are automatically canceled. Shoot and scoot can easily be edited in all the other move orders. It all has to do with timing and experience.
