  1. M4 Sherman vs the Japanese tanks a little like Tiger =s vs Shermans in Europe.
  2. They should have been included in Fortress Italy, a wicked sense of humor they had. Found three sleeping German sentries decapitated two and let the third one live. Just to see his reaction when he woke up.
  3. Maybe some specialist but I don't know of any extended presence. It was mostly British and British Indian troops. The British Indian Units had some of the highest trained engineer units in the 2nd WW2. Their most well-known innovation was the Bangalore Torpedo imagine D-Day without it.
  4. Our spelling is Burma Merrill's Marauders the good old days when HO Chi Minh and the Yanks were still mates. Yes, let's not forget the Chinese either.
  5. *Spoiler* The King Tiger has superior optics compared with its nemesis the JS2. I think this is the strategy of the scenario designer, damage optics and communication of the big cats. So that the Russian Heavies will deny them the objectives. The Russian 76mm ATG are in foxholes the flat trajectories of the German 88mm and even the 75mm L70 can't kill hiding Russian ATG crew. The Germans need their artillery and more important their 120mm mortars to be effective. The 75mm L48 of the Pzr4 is also more effective against ATGs. Hope you play against a human opponent as defender. The German tactic was called a Panzer Keil translate a tank wedge. Tigers are shielding their weaker brothers. As attacker I used this tactic also had an artillery plan, Light on Long adjust once priority targets reveal themselves. You have an experienced spotter and a veteran spotter. Use the veteran spotter on the right flank.
  6. CM has never done a Pacific Campaign. A shame because whether UTAH or OMAHA there was not a single US Marine. This left out unit, deserves their own game. The Aussies also don't get a mention in any of the games. Guadalcanal, Kokoda Trail, Burma among a few others could keep us going for years.
  7. Play Gog Magog in Red Thunder and you see the 76mm Russian is still doing some damage against the King Tiger. In every battle apply the combined arms principle. AT guns like any other weapon shouldn't act on their own.
  8. For anyone who wants this booklet. adp6_0.pdf (fas.org)
  9. Nope it is Army University Press they may use the same basic software. Army University Press - YouTube
  10. Stalingrad: The Grain Elevator - YouTube
  11. Indeed, unless there is a reason to move at a lesser speed.
  12. Subterranean environment is not something CM is very good in. TBH I don't think they do it at all. FR comes up are they doing something with the subway? Stalingrad the KT were the grain silos which were connected by tunnels. These campaigns are unthinkable without a subterranean environment.
  13. Saw a movie in which a Fin flamethrower operator lighted his cigar on a smoldering Soviet trooper. Would be a neat animation on the end of a game.
  14. Postimages — free image hosting / image upload Try this it solved the problem for me.
  15. That is what I am doing. I thought the function of pre-orders was you need a number of customers before you release a game. Kind regards.
  16. Maybe open for discussion. No 'Pre-Orders' till a date is set to make the game actually available.
  17. @Sven the race of German and Russian against each other. 76mm knocks out a PzrIV at 1500mtrs from the front. Against a Tiger or Panther no chance.
  18. Don't fire the odds are you will miss. Below 1000mtr at the side armor. Always have an exit tactic. Tip: position above a foxhole the crew when hiding will go to the bottom of the foxhole. The 76mm Russian was made to deal with MarkIII and MarkIV. Against the Panther it is side armor only.
  19. Civilized people settle their differences privately. They don't broadcast it, in any business customers come first.
  20. Use a Jeep it is a part of recon units and security. They could use the road map as I outlined.
  21. I disagree it is something I would do in real life. To use scouts to find an avenue of approach. The game workaround would be a road map. Whatever you plot on your road map can be copied or be automatically copied on your AO. That is one of my suggested solutions some time ago. HQs in real life don't have a Bird Eye view. They have topographic maps and roadmaps.
  22. Peel of a scout team click A and click B they will find a path for you. The way I find paths in the bocage obviously they can only be passed by infantry. Path verification done by a friendly unit.
  23. Example of this are forest tiles with no trees, some people are sloppy or try to be funny. Obstacles which are only for show like haystacks but actually don't exist part of the furniture. Frankly speaking learn from your experiences, I gave up on some scenarios out of frustration. Hobarts Funnies in Battle for Normandy was the worse one. Receive mission do a SMEAC and on the end see that a squad of engineers can't dismount a truck. Road to Nijmegen can't be completed because of a bridge bug. Don't criticize Beta Testers is another thing I learned. I just won't purchase some games.
  24. Some distance before the gap some distance behind the gap. You plot too many waypoints; I was caught like that with a foot bridge in battle for Normandy. Solution, select all the company and click twice before the bridge and behind the bridge. To micromanage with a squad at the time was impossible some members just wouldn't cross the bridge. Some games have bugs often bridges, buildings, among others.
