In Germany, two Russo-Germans have been arrested for espionage and sabotage. They are accused of taking pictures of American and German military installations in Bavaria (one of which is a training facility for Ukrainians on Abrams tanks) and planning to use explosives to disrupt military support transports en route to Ukraine. 
Both of them were in contact with the FSB and one of them was member of a Russian militia unit which operated in Donetzk / Donbas 2014 to 2017. The unit is considered a terrorist group in Germany, so that Russo-German is also accused of membership in a terrorist organisation.
 
 

Vertically oriented solar panels are a thing, I just saw a whole video about it (w manufacturers/installers/users being interviewed).  They are not installed as fences, but can double as fences.  Installing solar panels as fences would be really stupid & expensive, unless these are old, worn out ones that don't work anymore.
edit: By the way, california generated enough renewable energy to provide 100% of grid demand for for 30 of last 38 days.  That's california, the 6th largest economy on earth.

We are often lamenting the pendulum swinging this way these days. On the other hand, not long ago a woman had to be given permission by her husband to take a job, had to have sex with him whenever he felt like it and could be beaten by him - legally. (In Germany, don't know about other countries)
If you were anything but strictly heterosexual you faced going to jail or get electro shock therapy.

Let's cut people facing an existential threat for them and their families a little slack. My country has plenty of things to regret under far less serious circumstances.

Here's the thing though - generally - at its best - the West as part of its advantages over more totalitarian  places -  has come to represent toleration  of a whole lot of things which are not necessarily the end of Human Civilization as many  who oppose such toleration seem to think . The West is not going to fall because of trans gender rights or any other sub group of people wanting to express themselves how they feel . Its going to be because of war ,   resource scarcity and global changes to our economic systems due to our continued mis use of the planet .

As a lawyer you should know better that it's much more than just an 'attitude'. It's an entire legal framework underpinning the political ideology of liberal democracy.

Yes the west can sponsor whomever they like, the enemy of my enemy and all that, but there is much more going on here with the particular case of Ukraine because Ukraine has made it no secret that it aspires to joining the EU. As a matter of straightforward facts:-
Ukraine will never join the EU if it does not uphold EU law - indeed it has to adopt EU law in order to be a member. Membership means compliance with the ECHR and its rulings. The ECHR enforces the core principles laid out and agreed upon by the union of liberal democratic states. Some of those principles cover the protection of minority groups and protection of individual freedoms etc.. This is just the way it is. You cannot cherry-pick the core ideas of liberal democracy anymore than you can cherry-pick the legal framework and membership of the EU.          

Well, that's - sadly - true.
However, Ukraine doesn't merely strive to be an ally but to actually become part of the West, the EU in particular. And since joining EU means submitting to EU jurisdiction, Ukrainian society will have to adapt at least some.

Haiduk if you don't like Western values then return all the Western help you've got. Maybe some country that doesn't have the LBGT and genders will help.
Let me think of some of those for you:
- Russia
- China
- Hungary (currently blocking EU aid)
- USA with Republicans in charge (currently blocking US aid)
- Hamas
- Iran

It's pretty clear Trump has told him not to do it and he's listening. 

The more I think about this, the more I am wondering if it is tied to the potential missile attacks to be made on Israel and the potential for that region to get very messy very quickly.
That whole region is a tinder box and the Biden team are trying to keep a lid on it with no help from the extremists in control of Israel.
 

It's confused me for a long time that combatants don't focus on applying pyschological effects more often, at least on the battlefield.  I can kind of understand why western forces might shun the idea (good luck being seen as 'the good guys' if you try some of this stuff) but, for the sake of some extra weight, why don't Russian drones and missiles emit an inhuman screaming noise (for example) as they approach their target?  Especially those being used for terror attacks on civilian targets.
Ju-87s were militarily next-to-useless but their psychological impact on the enemy was out of all proportion to the actual threat they posed, almost entirely due to the sirens that sounded as the early models attacked.
V1s were militarily next-to-useless but people feared them far more than they needed to because you could hear them coming and you could hear when the motor stopped.  That was what people feared.

"Denazification" is and always has been a total lie insofar as the idea that it is a legitimate justification for invasion.
On the other hand, it's no secret that there are right-wing extremists in Ukraine.

This is a Ukraine war forum, not "open mic night for arrogant narcissists".  Your spiel is so classic, you know lots of 'facts', some actually true, but mostly not.  So you strut like a f--ing rooster "what about article X of broken treaty Y!".  Yeah, what about it?  What is actually happening is mass murder, mass destruction, nuclear extortion and a general threat to world peace the the world economy.  How does minsk treaty language matter when one party physically invaded the other and is actively killing its people and trying to enslave the entire nation?  
But I guess you're right, we need to start seeing things from Putin's point of view, he was very oppressed and had no choice but to fight back.  I am sure we could all develop  a more balanced view by sympathizing with mass murderers more often.  More 'what abouts' and less paying attention to the horrific reality of Putin's choices, day after day, is what's in order -- thanks Dude, I am feeling so much more enlightened.

While I'm sure it is tempting to see this guy's posting as some sort of April Fools prank or maybe some kid with to much time on his hands trying to "troll" us. Perhaps a paid Russian troll?
The reality is going by the fact that he registered on this forum before 9/11 even happened, he is likely a grown man who has accepted the Kremlin's propaganda as truth.
This is a scary thought but not surprising for me given how many seemingly normal people I've seen on social media who are now parroting the Kremlin's line.
While Russia's military machine leaves a lot to be desired for the Russians, I think their psychological operations like the infamous troll factories are maybe more effective than we care to think about.
A good reminder of how important it is to counter the Kremlin's lies with the truth no matter how we can.
