  1. Let's cut people facing an existential threat for them and their families a little slack. My country has plenty of things to regret under far less serious circumstances.
  2. Another example of why this is more than just another wargame site. I think the discussion of evolutionary psychology could hold its own in a forum devoted to the subject.
  3. Damn but this deserves a like. Not that I'm unsympathetic to some of those other groups, but this is the road we're on. OK, maybe off topic but the boss started it and won't let me just like it.
  4. A bit of a broad brush, but a good default setting. On the war, one is definitely better off here.
  5. The video from the field hospital is one of the most moving and inspiring things I have seen from the war. I assume that there are equally disturbing scenes in civilian areas, given the intentional targeting of civilians. I have been contributing to the organization Direct Relief to provide medical supplies to Ukraine based on this: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/03/02/opinion/ukraine-charity-donation-guide.html?searchResultPosition=4, and the ratings that it has received by other organizations that evaluate charities. You can earmark contributions for Ukraine. I have no other connection with this organization.
  6. Re: Charities NYTimes has this: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/03/02/opinion/ukraine-charity-donation-guide.html I usually double-check charities with this: https://www.charitynavigator.org/ or this: https://www.charitywatch.org/.
  7. Any reaction here to this interview with Wesley Clark?
  8. Ahhh, the internet. Here's a for you, Freyberg. And the developers, betatesters, modders and scenario designers.
  9. I had the same problem and I think the solution was to put in the license keys to the intermediate versions. I filed a help desk ticket and got an answer right away, so if no one else chimes in, do that.
  10. My experience as well. And the cause was my doltishness. Very appreciative of his patience.
  11. I got this with Win 10 when the installer put them in the documents folder for the administrator account. I have to run the game as administrator to get them to show up ingame.
  12. I'm sure there are a lot of lurkers like me that greatly appreciate Bil's contributions over the years. I recently reread some of his AAR's and his blog, and replayed the training exercises from the blog. I'd pay for a training pack by Bil.
  13. In Quick Battles, the force selection screen is not resetting the quality options when you move back to attach single units, like in CMBN. For example, if you select a platoon to attach an individual unit, the quality options for the platoon leader carry over to the single unit screen instead of resetting to the settings used for selecting the battalion. I selected an infantry battalion using typical for all the quality modifiers. I highlighted a platoon to attach a machine gun team, and when I selected the machine gun team instead of resetting the modifiers to typical, the machine gun team had the same quality as the platoon leader. So I have to reset the modifiers to typical each time I attach a unit. In CMBN the modifiers reset automatically so you don't have to do that if you want to make multiple attachments using typical quality.
