  1. To be fair, Game of Thrones is an adaptation of a book series. They couldn't just end it in the middle of the series. Although, I will say that the quality of the show decreased sharply after they outpaced George R. R. Martin's writing.
  2. You Brits have an odd sense of humor... and I damn well appreciate it.
  3. I've come across references to a Fredrocker CM:FI campaign called "The Boyz of FGM". Unfortunately the link on his blog is dead. I was wondering if anyone had this one.
  4. I understand that the vehicle was historical and therefore included in the game. I also try and use them for recon purposes only when I am commanding a combined arms unit. The problem usually comes up in some of the smaller scenarios where you are in command of only a recce unit.
  5. The Stuart Recce seems pointless. Every time I have one the crew just gets killed using the M2. Why did the British take the turrets off of these vehicles?
  6. Do most H2H scenarios contain some basic AI? Like if I wanted to play as the US attacking the German AI in a H2H tagged scenario, would it be worth it?
  7. I didn't interact much with you guys. I was tucked away in the SIGINT shop at the SCIF in Korea for 3 years.
  8. Ah another MI guy! What kind of analyst is 96B? I was in from 2010 to 2015 and was a 35P. I believe my MOS used to be known as 96G.
  9. Yeah, the Korean War would probably be more memorable in the west if it hadn't ended with pretty much the same borders as before the war. Blame MacArthur and his idiotic race to the Yalu for that. As to the Type-95, I don't recall any Japanese armor at the museum. I very much doubt that the ROKA had any old Japanese tanks. The ROKA had pretty much no armor and very little artillery before June 25th. KMAG didn't want President Rhee to use such material to invade North Korea.
  10. Rudy Reyes played himself in "Generation Kill."
  11. NatGeo's recent mini-series "The Long Road Home" cast actors of a believable age to play the soldiers of 2-5 Cav.
  12. I can't speak to Sweden, Italy, or Japan but I know a bit about Korea. South Korea used old US equipment until the 1980s. After the Miracle on the Han rebuilding of the South Korean economy (particularly heavy industries) the ROK was capable of producing their own weapons systems but didn't until Nixon and Carter reduced the US presence on the peninsula. President Park Chung Hee decided that the ROK needed their own domestic weapons industry in case the US decided to pull out in the future. They have their own domestically produced small arms, tanks, and even fighter planes.
  13. I would love to play a scenario about the ROKA 6th ID defending Chuncheon. Or a campaign about the KPA 105th Armored Division against the US 24th ID at Taejon. Or a campaign about the Marines trying to escape destruction at Chosin. The Korean War is a fascinating conflict. It really is a forgotten war in western countries. I spent hours exploring the Korean War museum in Seoul when I was stationed in Korea. Probably one of the best museums I have ever been to.
  14. A Korean War Combat Mission would be great. Mountainous terrain like CM:FI and US WW2 TO&E and doctrine vs. Soviet TO&E and doctrine. Of course, it would be best if it only covered the first 8 months of the war before it degenerated into a stalemate.
  15. Oh yeah, the countries occupied by Imperial Japan have long memories. I served in USFK earlier this decade and the hatred my ROK Army friends had for Japan was palpable.
  16. My great-grandfather was in the US Navy and lost his ship at Guadalcanal. He hated the Japanese till the day he died.
  17. Hey dragonwynn, I'm a new poster and I don't even have Black Sea but having served recently as a language analyst in USFK I thought I might give you some feedback. Having looked over the TO&E of Black Sea you would be better served using the Ukrainians as the basis for the KPA in your mod. The most modern KPA equipment is late 80s Soviet or early 90s Russian gear. They simply don't have the modern equipment that the Russians in Black Sea do. Also, ROK army forces use mostly Korean developed weapon systems so any conversion of the US to ROK will be a bit weird. As for the terrain don't forget that the Korean peninsula is mostly mountainous. There is some flat(ish) farmland in the eastern and southern parts of the country but it is all surrounded by hills. Good luck with the mod. I really enjoyed your CMBN and CMRT campaigns.
  18. I know that BF has indicated that they aren't interested in doing a Korean War game but I think that it would be a great idea. The mountainous terrain can be done well as we have seen in CMFI. The US and South Korean TO&E is essentially the same as late WW2. North Korean and Chinese TO&E is similar to to the Soviets in CMRT. The last couple of years of the Korean War degenerated into static fighting along the current DMZ but the first six months were incredibly fluid. Imagine a campaign as the KPA 105th Armored Division vs. the US 24th ID at the Battle of Taejon. Or the ROKA 6th ID during the Battle of Chuncheon. It would be an incredible game.
