  1. little more of the Ukrainian very cost efficient and fast modernizations: For sure not as effective or easy to use as full integrated modernization but must be cheap, easy and fast to make.
  2. Repairing the bridge is not a binary thing. On the first day it was one lain for small vehicles and a lone train locomotive. From a year or two from now it could be "good as new" including from full load capacity to new coating on the all the structures. In between of those two are many many other states. Including "shut down for further repairs", even if it was close to full capacity before that.
  3. No footage of losses so I take it this was not a failed attack but a probe, a raid or "preparing the battle field" ext. In case of failed attack by Ukraine (even on company scale) we would see drone footage of Ukraine losses.
  4. Here is another that is surely the same system from this summer: trim_bb1rwp5sbvctrgia_YE3CUZcc.mp4
  5. Unknown top attack drone thing once again in action: Trim.mp4 source: https://twitter.com/Blue_Sauron/status/1581268787420364802 EDIT: wrong to call it a drone. Don't know what it is EDIT2: just a bird
  6. I see this as likely as the Kadyrov "combat footage"
  7. information starting to arrive. Kherson offensive starting up again. Too bad RUS milblogger got shot down so it is going to be harder to follow this real time.
  8. best fast summary of types of 155mm ammo. AT mines:
  9. Not sure what is the goal here. Maximum threat on the northern front while stealing all the equipment for RUS military? Or Putin wants Belarus to go down with him
  10. Also seems Aspire is arriving: https://mil.in.ua/en/news/ukrainian-military-being-trained-in-spain-to-operate-the-aspide-air-defense-system/ https://www.mbda-systems.com/product/aspide-2000/ and Crotale confirmed: https://www.armyrecognition.com/defense_news_october_2022_global_security_army_industry/france_announces_the_supply_to_ukraine_of_crotale_air_defense_missile_systems.html
  11. Have you guys kept looking at the totals on this page? Creeping up pretty darn high https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/04/answering-call-heavy-weaponry-supplied.html here are some of the largest Tanks (~320) Infantry Fighting Vehicles (~210) Engineering Equipment (25) Armoured Personnel Carriers (~700) Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles (~600) Infantry Mobility Vehicles (520+) Towed Artillery (~250) Self-Propelled Artillery (~180 with another 180+ on order) Multiple Rocket Launchers (~90) Radars (~85)
  12. Ukraine is getting the Hawk anti-air system. source: https://twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1eaKbrMPAQaKX "Announcement by Spain that they will provide four Hawk launchers to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses"-Stoltenberg (2:09-2:17) It is **** but not as **** as you might first think: Spain has the HAWK Phase III, overhauled in the 80-90s and missiles are from the 90s. So surely comparable to likes of BUK-M1 for example. Useful for static back lines protection like Kiev city center. https://www.armyrecognition.com/united_states_american_missile_system_vehicle_uk/hawk_mim-23_low_medium_altitude_ground_to_air_missile_technical_data_sheet_specifications_pictures.html
  13. Ukraine is on the road of getting enough AA I did not know Ukraine was getting 4 batteries of IRIS-T. Combine this with 8 batteries of NASAMS coming and you get pretty respectful AA coverage. You also get to top this off with all the soviet systems. Finnish military has 8 batteries of NASAMS as the bas AA network (combined with around 60 modern fighters). This is deemed enough for FDF. Rest of the AA are short range systems.
  14. BTR-4 takes out T-80 with the mounted ATGM 49°31'46.0"N 37°55'36.6"E
  15. Could be, as likely as any of the other ideas floating around. haha Could be launched from close by undercover civilian ship. UKR clearly has lots of operatives in Russia
  16. Missile theory has a hole the size of missing footage and reports of anti-aircraft system firing in the area. They would have definitely tried to intercept. I am still unconvinced of any current hypothesis.
  17. It would appear that the withdrawal of the RuAF on the northern Kherson front was at least somewhat premeditated. The withdrawal apparently took place in a better order than in previous similar situations, but the overall picture of the events is still unclear. 1/ RuAF will try to group its forces for defense primarily along Bruskynske-Borozensk-Mylove. Around Stepne-Novoraisk-Krupytsya, some kind of reserve will probably be gathered from retreating troops and other similar units. 2/ The Stepne-Novoraisk-Krupytsya line will also serve as the last line of defense before Nova Kakhovka is within range of the heavy artillery. It is difficult to identify the units at the moment, but it is likely that the weak and burnt-out units will be combined under the VDV. 3/ In the direction of the T0403 road, 2-3 weak combat sections of the battalion were probably destroyed. Battles took place at least on the Shevchenkivka - Zolota Balka level, as well as on the Nobooleksandrivka and Duchany fronts. 4/ The AFU has now likely withdrawn all the dwindling RuAF reserves to this sector. This can open up opportunities to unexpectedly change the focus of the attack to other parts of the front. 5/
  18. maybe, but that footage is as likely fake as it is real. (this vid being fake doesn't take away from that it might be really happening in large amounts)
  19. Many are unjustified in launching at this. Indeed old fashioned but very effective. If I were to become hermit I would choose foot wraps over any socks.
  20. some rumors above and good visualization on the challenges of shrinking bridgehead under:
  21. Thick *** winter rubber boots with added boot lining (can be easily switched when gets wet, "rotation") combined with thick *** quality winter socks. Indestructible
  22. on the personal equipment (no translator required because photos): https://puolustusvoimat.fi/documents/1948673/2258487/PEVIESTOS-TaistelijanVaatetusM05-2013.pdf/e756573d-0ebe-4157-84a9-cb28bef3e30e/PEVIESTOS-TaistelijanVaatetusM05-2013.pdf.pdf more general all around guide to everything including "surviving" (also lots of photos): https://puolustusvoimat.fi/documents/1948673/59593990/Sotilaan_kasikirja_2022.pdf/0302c220-4a06-0bd2-2f7f-6adaa0e00926/Sotilaan_kasikirja_2022.pdf/Sotilaan_kasikirja_2022.pdf?t=1639574353843 For the bad weather you just need the right gear (personal and formation gear) From personal experience you survive quite easily indefinably in -30°C(-22°F) when you have personal gear and squad gear.
  23. I will start to get worried if I see anything like this in the RUS mobilization (Finnish exercise for reservists): footage from gearing up the troops
