  1. Every driver after 14.4 does this. I started working backwards a few months ago until 14.4.
  2. Using the handy search tool above, you'll see that a lengthy discussion already took place... http://community.battlefront.com/topic/118278-video-card-upgrade-for-shaders-to-work-recommendations/
  3. I have been running a few tests with a T-90AM firing at 500m at a side on line of M2A3s w/ ERA. Consistently goes through 2 completely and sometimes goes through 3 M2s and damages a 4th. It is actually kind of cool to see the entry and exit holes all lined up. My next test is to line up 2 M2s and a couple houses and see what happens.
  4. What's going on with the repository? It has been updated in over two weeks.
  5. EMP just isn't a generic electronics killer. Even in civilian electronics. Different manufacturing processes, manufacturing time periods, different materials, etc, would need an EMP capable of hitting their specific parameters. Not impossible, but outside large budgeted militaries, not an economy killer or nation killer.
  6. I have something similar to that already. I think BTR's is overriding Kieme's. I see BTR's no prob, and Kieme's other mods, but not where they appear to conflict. edit...OK I see now I have BTR's in a folder that begins with R.
  7. Stupid question...If I have BTR's Russian AFV color mod, how do I get the game to use your Russian dirty AFVs while retain BTR's on AFVs that you haven't done yet?
  8. I learned in CMSF to steer units clear of any AFV that is on fire. It took a few games of losing other AFVs and whole squads to learn that lesson.
  9. Have you ever seen a Bradley explode in game. I have seen those explosions take out other AFVs multiple times.
  10. All I can say is run the tests...I don't have the time to run n iterations that would satisfy someone at BFC. If you want to have continuous improvement in the product, customer feedback is usually the seed.
  11. I just ran a test... Stryker with a scout team. All parameters normal. BMP3M with a scout team. All parameters normal. At 1000m the scout team mounted in the BMP3M spotted the Stryker after about 20 sec. It took another 40 sec. for the BMP3M to spot it. The Stryker and the scout team spotted the BMP3M at the same time within...20 sec. The were no unbuttoned units. All hatches were closed. So why would the mounted scout team spot the Stryker almost 40 sec. before the BMP3 gunner? No differences in motivation, morale, or leadership. I wanted to upload the save of turn 1, but its too big. edit...ran it four more times. With the exception of one time where it took 90 sec for all the Russian units to spot the Stryker, the scout team spotted the Stryker 15-25 sec. before the BMP3M on average.
  12. Really? I would have thought all the thermals and optics on the RWS would have allowed better spotting than anyone unbuttoned.
  13. I thought I posted this already...but guess not. I have seen this issue since CMSF, all the way through CMRT. It seems to not happen as much in the WW 2 titles. But See it a couple times a scenarios where a stryker has a passenger that sees an enemy unit 1-2 turns before the crew.
  14. Hey, what happened? I thought you declared you were out of the conversation?
  15. In CMSF, you used to see this a lot. Rear hit on a tank leads to optics damage. At one time, the randomization of the damage model seemed off. Haven't seen it much beyond CMSF.
  16. After the hype of the Black Eagle that went on for years, I give it no credence until it is at a minimum shown to the public.
  17. There used to be a Hunt and Move to Contact command in CM1. Hunt would stop, fire until to target, and then keep moving. Move to Contact acted like Hunt does today. There was significant call for these commands to be put into CM2. Never happened.
  18. I had a BTR-82 fired on my a .50 cal and small decals appeared. The same BTR-82 fired its 30mm at a stryker and killed it. No decals on the stryker. There is something going on the autocannons and decals.
  19. My point, again, is only about the people who say there is no alternative to CM. 10 years ago it might have been true. Its not today. A self-fulfulling and self-serving definition of what a wargame is limits anyone from looking at what a wargame really is. CM has many good points. It is why I come back to play it. But I also frequent a lot of boards and play a lot of games besides CM. They are all wargames. I only play games that scratch that tactical company-sized itch. I wander the ARMA boards and sometimes can't understand why some of those people don't play CM. I realize that they don't dig any deeper on CM because they get a lot of the tactical company-sized stuff out of ARMA. When Hetman and a couple other command mods came out there was a lot of excitement. That particular mod has one of the largest threads on the BI boards. It would seem to me that a lot of people on this board consciously choose to not dig into ARMA to see what is there...or a lot of other games for that matter. ARMA is a lot more detailed than CM in many ways. But it is also incredibly incomplete out of the box. It takes effort to make it work. I use CM as a way to play with a lot less stress. It plays so completely and simply compared to ARMA. But it is a lot less detail than a fully modded ARMA, but that makes it easier to play. You've built yourself a nice little world here at BFC, but it is extremely cloistered and has a real "not invented here" attitude about it. Which is surprising for a small to medium-sized game company.
  20. Taking it full circle...I stumbled on this comment at the SimHQ forums. "Thanks for the response Magnum. My tastes in the past have always been (and remain) combat flight sims and titles like Steel Fury, SB Pro PE and the Arma series. The CM series never appealed because it looked awkward to play and visually clunky." http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4081575/Re:_CM:Red_Thunder#Post4081575 He looks like he is convinced to maybe try CM. But note what games he plays and compares to CM. He does not compare feature for feature, but looks at what he likes to play. He lumps ARMA, GTOS, and Steel Beasts together.
  21. I have to agree that the decals seem to be getting lost somewhere. Sometimes I see them and sometimes I can't find them. I never had this issue in CMRT.
  22. I would think that based on what is being discussed, that the comment.... "So the gist of this thread is that BFC needs to junk their current engine and spend the next several years developing a new one with the graphics of Arma 3 and the AI of Deep Blue." ...is a strawman. Or at least an exaggeration of the point that is being argued.
  23. Where you guys on the side penetration issues, if you think they are any?
  24. ACE has absolutely nothing to do with it. ACE is the most basic mod. Look at MCC Sandbox, HETMAN, or maybe even something out of the box like Zues. If you aren't using any of them, you are only using a small % of what ARMA is capable of.
