Now that the Daffs have died off our footpaths and roadsides are lined with Cow Parsley. It will soon be June.

You know we are referring to German units?
Obviously he doesn't bother reading other people's comments, and apparently not even bothering to check which game he is going on about.

Worghern's mod is a bit too "winter wonderlandy" for my taste... yes trees can look sort of like that in winter, but it depends on some special conditions. Most of the time, snow on trees looks different - at least around here.
I would say that "winter wonderlandy" pretty much chimes with my impression of it too.

I also got a Draw. I occupied South Honsfeld, and touched Honsfeld. My casualties amounted to 8 men and 2 AFV's for which the Amis received 66 points, whilst I didn't get any for taking out more than 60 of them. And exiting the Spitze doesn't give me any points as far as I can see.
Such a shame for the campaign to end on a sour note.
-
Finally got back to this. I forced a surrender with about 15 minutes left on the clock. So it's on to Mission 2.
-
Mission 4 ended with an Ami surrender. Luckily for me as they still had two bazookas. Unbeknownst to me I'd taken out the Platoon HQ in a torrent of HE and MG fire. O.K. on to Mission 5.

Did you trigger an AT mine with the halftrack and only lost the gunner? When my halftrack hit mines, they seem to get completely obliterated, killing everyone on board.
No, I was trying to be clever and went off-road. So they both hit anti-personnel mines. Thankfully the track damage didn't stop them from moving, and my tanks were able to steer a safe path between the mine markers.
In the meantime I am loving Mission 4. Some casualties but not the bloodbath I was fearing.
-
It was, as said above "unusual". Both of my half-tracks were damaged by mines with the gunners becoming casualties. But, that is certainly better than having two Panthers vanish into thin air. O.K. time for "Bloodbath in Buchholz".

Played two, Won two. Now for Mined the Gap, which I am assuming in set on the London Underground. And will involve a crack Fallschimjager unit led by Mad Addy himself dropping behind Allied lines four stops short of Dagenham East. Or, possibly not.

I'm about halfway through the first mission. But I have had to put it on hold, I've been side tracked by Rollbahn D. Hang on, is that a bilingual mixed metaphor?

, "Lanzarote" holiday resort island seems cleared,
Lucky it was held by the Yanks. If is was the British it would be jammed packed with blokes in Union Jack shorts shouting "Do you sell chips, Pedro?"

Perhaps you and I are of a similar age? Or we drink a similar quantity of alcohol

You might well be right on both counts. In the meantime I won't be opening the above spoilers, but I am enjoying the second mission so far.

It would be nice if you added some variability to the US deployment by painting a setup zone for them instead of just placing each defending unit by hand. It's very easy to do, and it means you can play the campaign several times and not know exactly which buildings will be defended, and which not.
That is good advice. Of course, you could be like me. Lose your marbles, so when that you replay a campaign you've forgotten everything.

The map for Mission 2 looks great. But it didn't take long for me to make my first mistake. I assumed that the fog was thicker than it actually is, and didn't give my scouts Target Arcs. Predictable result, a long range firefight. Wish me luck.

BTW: The Briefing refers to organic light mortars, but they all seem to be 81mm. I thought maybe light would be 50mm?
I thought that they would be 50mm as well. But, the extra punch of the 81's came in handy, so I can't complain.

Congrats you've reached Page 134 if you have Pallud's Then and Now
. Like the spoiler reveal.
A great book. As for me the temptation proved too strong, and my CMBN campaign will either have to be played in tandem with this one, or go on the back burner. So far it is Played 1 Won 1. Although I can't see that record lasting.

The "facing" command.
Yes, spot on. I shouldn't have taken it for granted that someone would know that using "Face" automatically cancels the previous targeting order.

I've only just started a new CMBN campaign. But, I've downloaded this and taken a look at the first mission. Hopefully I'll be able to get stuck into it soon. Thanks for putting it together.

Certainly better than Carrie Antionette's wallpaper, and cheaper too I don't doubt.

If y'all have nothing to say about the Youtube battle videos why don't you just go away. Nobody here finds this entertaining.
Heartily agree. My original comment was about youtube content, and I think that three "?" is enough, despite my love of Sister Rosetta Tharpe's "Four or Five Times". In the meantime despite his dodgy Royalist sounding moniker Richard Yorke's latest F&R videos have been worth a watch or two.

Always nice to see see a bit of canister action.

You can answer your own ?, if you go back to think that you have been making comments for years about someone saying some words about other people on youtube. Other people can defend themselves fine plus it's a word, which VET0369 tried to explain, others use in a less serious tone you seem to interpret it.
Plus, mate, it's 2021. move on

You beat me to it. He produced some excellent CM videos in the all too short time that he was making them.
