  1. This also applies to the BTR? This I did not know. Thank you. This squad leader split and mount back into the vehicle is good for all BMPs (3s & 2s) and all BTRs (82s & 80A)?
  2. @Bulletpoint Okay I tested PSW 222, PSW 234/1 and PSW 231. Same results as you. The 20mm would only fire at walls or buildings. I think it would be useful if it fired the 20mm (or both the MG & 20mm) on Target and just the MG on Target Light. Maybe someday my friend ...........
  3. @Bulletpoint Okay I gave this some more thought. First off this is the CMBN forum so you are probably playing a CMBN campaign. My PBEM is in CMFB. Also you asked about a PSW and I answered for a SPW 251/17. (I sometimes forget which forum I'm reading. Now I know how @Michael Emrys feels ). I will load my CMBN test map and see what happens with a PSW in the CMBN title. Sorry for the confusion.
  4. In a current PBEM I had a SPW 251/17 (Ausf. D) Area Target a woodline. It fired 20mm HE. I just gave it a Pause at a waypoint and a Target Briefly followed by a Reverse to get out of dodge. This SPW was the platoon commanders HT. Was your SPW part of the original TOE or added through Single Vehicle purchase during the purchase phase? Or maybe a different SPW?
  5. Pretty much what @Bulletpoint said. The rifles will get more accurate at 220 meters and the SMGs will kick in at 200 meters. Another thing that might also be interesting when your done with your current test. Button the half-track and give it a small target arc. See how close the grenadiers will let it get before they shoot at it.
  6. Finally had some time to do some experimenting on friendly vehicles shooting through friendly vehicles. It seems the same rules apply to operational vehicles as well as knocked out vehicles. Friendly fire will pass through a friendly vehicle. If the vehicle is in Open up status the vehicle may take one bar of suppression. Other than that the friendly rounds will pass harmlessly through. In the screenshots below the 20mm Flak did take suppression and a casualty when an HE round exploded in a tree about 15 meters behind the Flak vehicle.
  7. Sorry @SLIM I just now noticed your question. I don'y check the general discussion forum very often. I have both games and they are both excellent. If I was forced to pick one I would probably go with Final Blitzkrieg. Final Blitzkrieg has snow and the ability to set Quick Battle Ground Conditions. Also CMRT has two regions: Soviet Union & Eastern Europe. CMFB has four regions: Ardennes, France, Germany and Holland. CMRT has three Services: German Army, Soviet Army, Soviet Guards. CMFB has four services: US Army, German Army, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe. Another difference is roving aircraft in CMRT vs. directed airstrikes in CMFB. Good luck.
  8. /////////////////////////////////////////////// Spoiler ///////////////////////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Spoiler /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// This surprised me some. The OpFor surrendered at 0828. Major US Victory. SitMap 0828 1) Task Force Warner in a fire fight with OpFor at LOE Crampon North. 2) One building left to clear in BP T148. 3) One truck from the logistics convoy entered BP T148. The remaining three vehicles are just south. Another great scenario. Highly Recommend it.
  9. //////////////////////////////////////// Spoiler///////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Spoiler //////////////////////////////////////////////////// Some drama but manageable. In BP T148 the one building adjacent to a wall also had an elevation change. This sometimes (most times?) results in engineers not being able to enter through the blasted wall. Instead they will run around the building and enter through the door. In my Blast TacSOP I have a note to look at the building wall to be blasted to determine if it might have an elevation difference. I thought it might. I gave my engineers a Pause before the Blast. After the Blast they had about 5 seconds to run around the building before the turn ended and I was able to cancel the order. Infantry teams positioned by the Blast location fired into the building killing the suppressed OpFor. Then the engineers made a second Blast. This time the Blast was through the wall next to the same building so troops could enter the compound and finish the clean up. This and some clever positions for OpFor troops slowed the attack. Several minutes later LTC Evans used this blasted wall section to enter BP T148. Welcome to BP T148 LTC Evans.
  10. The AT4 replaced the original LAW in the US Army. The USMC continued to use an improved LAW alongside the new AT4. The AT4 has a 84mm HEAT round with a range of about 250 meters. The LAW has a 66mm HEAT round with a range of about 200 meters. The AT4 has the bigger round and longer distance so I will take those first. Any remaining Special Equipment slots that are still open I will fill with LAWs. If you use Target Light your troops will not fire AT4s, LAWs or Javelins. If you use Target against a vehicle or building they will fire AT4s, LAWs and Javelins. (I don't recall much luck getting them to area target an open area with any of these weapons or infantry not in a building). So there is only so much you can do to get them to fire a certain weapon system at a certain time. I will generally split my squads into teams during the Set Up Phase and have them draw ammo for that team's main function. Assault or base of fire usually. Then I keep them separated so they don't recombine and screw up the ammo distribution. If they are going back into vehicles I cross load them so they can't recombine in the vehicle and again redistribute the ammo between teams in a way that might not be appropriate for how I will employ them once the fighting starts.
  11. ///////////////////////////////////// SPOILER ////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER //////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SitRep 0815 Hrs. 1) 1st Engineer Platoon provides a base of fire and security for the logistics convoy. 2) 2nd Engineer Platoon, 2nd Rifle Platoon & 3rd Rifle Platoon attack west through BP T148 3) 1st Platoon (Assault) receives Warning Order to by-pass BP T148 to the north and attack west to secure LOE Crampon North. Infantry teams consisting of two volunteers each will ride as dismounts on the Humvees. Designated Task Force Warner to motivate 2nd Lt. Warner who is leading it.
  12. Yes. I do it all the time. I also use Photobucket but as far as I know it doesn't make a difference what or if you use a hosting site
  13. Always a good idea IMO. Combined arms is the way to go. Looking forward to this.
  14. This is an interesting tactic and I may put it on my list of things to test. An arty/mortar unit has five possible status displays in the UI which are: Receiving, Preparing, Spotting, Adjusting and Firing. In what status do you run your FO back the vehicle? Adjusting and Firing of course would not apply so do they run for the vehicle during Receiving, Preparing or Spotting? Also if the FO does not have eyes on the target for the spotting isn't the accuracy affected? Thanks for posting this. I'm just trying to understand how to make it work since I might put it in a TACSOP.
  15. This sounds like the perfect solution. (Unless it's hard to code or some techy type problem) It would give the player the choice. I hope this is something that can be done without a lot of programming headaches and something BFC would consider.
  16. //////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER //////////////////////////////////////// /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER /////////////////////////////////////////////////// SitRep 0735Hrs. 1) The logistics convoy arrived on Mullah Fayyad Highway and was escorted to the secured area of LOE Crampon South. Fire teams low on ammo resupply. 2) 1st Platoon (Assault) and elements of 3rd Rifle Platoon engaged approximately eight OpFor armed with AKs and RPGs. 3) A base of fire position was completed in compound Alamo with a secondary mission of providing a secure area for the logistics convoy when the convoy moves east. 4) 2nd Engineer Platoon and 2nd Rifle Platoon conducting operations to force the crossing of the canal and facilitate the attack into BP T148 by follow on forces. POLAR BEARS - PRO PATRIA!
  17. /////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER /////////////////////////////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// The logistics convoy arrived and was escorted to the secured area of LOE Crampon South. An M240Bravo team grabs some ammo. (Wow! Look at all the stuff in these trucks! It's like Christmas! And no S4 type with his inventory tracking / record keeping self in sight! PARTY!)
  18. That surprises me. You looked at the vehicle sub-system status field in the UI and the .50 MG was the only system with a red dot to the right? If so, I don't understand why the tank was knocked out. I think the assigned unit motivation (+2, +1, blank, -1, -2) and the current unit morale state ( Panic, Rattled, Shaken etc.) have a big influence on a crew bailing from an operational tank. An elite crew or a green crew that panics may both bail from an operational tank. I guess the argument could be made that an elite crew is less likely to get itself into a position where panic might result however we are the ones plotting the waypoints for the tank ......................
  19. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER ///////////////////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SitRep 0716 Hrs. 1) OpFor HQ team identified and eliminated. 2) 3rd Rifle Platoon reported, while clearing LOE Crampon South, a transmitter for a radio IED was discovered on a dead terrorist. 3) 1st Platoon (Assault) arrives in the A/O and provides a blocking force as 3rd Platoon sweeps through LOE Crampon South. 4) 1st Platoon (Engineer) along with two M240B teams from 2nd Rifle Platoon set up a base of fire on the rooftops of compound Alamo.
  20. /////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Back in the TOC officers review All Source Intelligence and attempt to locate the OpFor observer who was directing the air burst strikes against the maneuver platoons. An OpFor HQ unit, with probable LOS to the previous air burst strikes, was identified. The coordinates were sent to Captain Steel of the fire support team. BDA - One OpFor HQ team KIA.
  21. //////////////////////////////// Spoiler /////////////////////////////////////////// The medics are busy. OpFor spotting rounds fall near a breach location. The teams in the area Fast away. Seconds before more air burst arrive....
  22. /////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SPOILER /////////////////////////////////////////////////// SitRep 0700Hrs. Persistent multiple air burst attacks by the OpFor caused 4 friendly casualties and about the same number of walking wounded. 1) OpFor units moving east are interdicted with fire by friendly forces in the area of PB Rushdi Mullah. 2) OpFor use air burst munitions on friendly forces. 3) Opfor use air burst munitions on friendly forces. 4) OpFor use air burst munitions on friendly forces. This time the friendlies did not Hide and/or run far enough fast enough. Four casualties and about four walking wounded.
  23. Welcome back. You lasted longer at the out of town job than I expected .......... Now chop, chop back to work here.
