  1. Rule for Meeting Engagements: getting there firstest means nothing if you don't get there firstest with the mostest.
  2. I love those Bren Carriers. They're brilliant at winkling out enemy infantry in positions that are deadly for dismounted infantry.
  3. I liked that feature in CMx1, but I've come to like the absence of it in CMx2.
  4. I used one on Mac called ScreenCast-O-Matic (I think) that was free and did the job more or less. Plus something like iMovie if you want to edit stuff into a bigger movie.
  5. Once or twice I've kept squads together for firepower reasons. I usually seem to regret it though - they become awfully vulnerable to well-aimed mortar fire.
  6. It's a great game and I have no complaints, but I look forward to all the ongoing improvements that keep coming - more varied armour models, such as the welded on tracks, sandbags etc, and blown up tank and thrown-track models and hit decals, will be really cool
  7. It would be fun if Battlefront Front were to include that track-as-extra-armour thing in the game one day. I'm sure they will.
  8. I would love to see a range of settings, beyond just 'combined arms' - like the heavy/light etc above.
  9. Sadly, the images are not visible. It says you've exceeded your bandwidth on photobucket.
  10. Bil, Thanks for the link to the tactical problems. They're really useful for the game.
  11. He mentioned not zooming in because the Kriegsmarine models weren't finished so he didn't want to show them.
  12. At longish range, PzIV will often kill a Sherman. Games like 'The Quarry', with a large map, put the PzIV on a pretty even footing, if not a little ahead. Once Shermans are at close range, they will usually get the first shot, so as long they don't miss, they will win.
  13. Gosh, that's a shame. I'd like to reward the defender for making the taking of the objectives costly to the attacker, but I don't want to give a specific percentage.
  14. Would someone be so kind as to answer a question about the scenario designer. I want to know how to set mission parameters. I get what the points setting means, but I'm not sure what the threshold setting does. - For example, if I set the threshold to 0, and (for example) the enemy casualties parameter to 100, would I get 1 point for each 1% of enemy casualties? Likewise, if I set the threshold to 0, and friendly casualties to 100, do I lose 1 point for each percentage of casualties? What difference would it make if I set the threshold higher?
  15. Playing in iron mode, where spotting is so clear to see, you don't get the impression it's unrealistic. In fact, awareness of enemy units seems to owe more to communication with other friendly units.
  16. Spotting is interesting. Units share information. Having good command and communication can radically increase spotting information. If a tank were engaging infantry at close range, I could well imagine the TC was keeping an eye out on all sides. None of which is to say that there isn't a spotting bug, but I've had many situations where tank spotting was also pretty poor.
  17. I hate bocage - because I'm so poor at fighting through it - so I'm looking forward to some new, bocage-free maps.
