I only recall seeing it happen as part of loading a vehicle. -

Rokko, I have a copy of Meyer's history of the 12th SS PD HJ (ISBN 0-921991-18-5) if you need me to relay info from it. -

QB attacker/defender shenanigans..
Brent Pollock (WBRP) replied to PzKfW's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
I continue to run into this in CMBN (currently running 1.11) and it is the weirdest thing due to its seeming randomness. Just yesterday, I told my PBEM opponent we would have to abort a new game because I opened up the file to find my defenders clinging to the thin strip that is the attacker zone, figurative miles from the objective. While we were trying to start up another one, I kept using the file he had sent to test out some hotkey file troubleshooting and noticed that it had started giving me the correct set up zone. I have no idea how the same file could do that...W....T....F?! When the new file showed up, it had the same probelm but I could not get it to self-correct regardless of the number of times I restarted it, including closing CMBN before reopening the file. Ian, do you mean it is some sort of east-west problem? I've done oodles of CMX1 map editing but zero for CMX2. -
Is the PBEM Bug Fixed
Brent Pollock (WBRP) replied to Bud Backer's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
What about the incorrect QB PBEM set up zone assignment bug (i.e. defending units get start in the attacker's zone)? I am still seeing that inv1.11. -
visual bug? the gap
Brent Pollock (WBRP) replied to permanent666's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
NVIDIA GTX 460 3D Quality & Texture both 'Balanced'. Vert Synch and Antialiasing both 'Off'. I've played with higher resolution settings and don't recall any difference. -

Same card type/OS as you but I've seen these gaps from the get go and continue to do so. -
British Troops in Italian Campaign

I also had a W...T...F...moment when I opened up CMFI to find no CW units, mainly because CMFI seemed to get released after the CMBN CW module. -
AGH! It just happened again! In the CMFI Clearing the Niscemi Highway, I split the squad into ABC and no unit was selected after the split; I had to select it manually.
-
Yeah, and I just tested it again, too. W...T...F...I could have sworn it was not working, but that was in a battalion-sized brawl...hmmm...perhaps it is time for a CAT scan?
-
I'm still waiting for a patch to keep the first unit selected after the split. For instance, if I split a full American squad into A/B/C, I wish the resulting A sub-unit would stay selected instead of having to click on an icon again. Running it the other way by selecting the C or Scout sub-unit would be fine by me too.

Amen! I drove over one of mine because I couldn't see it from level 7, which I usually use for plotting. I have got to the point now where I go down to level two and scan the potted path, just in case.

Oops, Achilles, not Wolverines: http://www.wlu.ca/lcmsds/cmh/back%20issues/CMH/volume%207/Issue%202/Foulds%20-%20In%20Support%20of%20the%20Canadians%20-%20A%20British%20Anti-Tank%20Regiment%27s%20first%20five%20weeks%20in%20Normandy.pdf -

Stayed on my literal arse and got off my figurative one: found the 17pdr-armed reference for the 245th's M10s: http://www.wlu.ca/lcmsds/cmh/back%20issues/CMH/volume%207/Issue%202/Foulds%20-%20In%20Support%20of%20the%20Canadians%20-%20A%20British%20Anti-Tank%20Regiment%27s%20first%20five%20weeks%20in%20Normandy.pdf -
Maybe I misunderstand the problem because this seems to be exactly what it is supposed to do. Is the resulting PBEM file not in your Outgoing Email folder?

Scenario with Achilles in it?
Brent Pollock (WBRP) replied to Aragorn2002's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
I would love to know the source that clarifies the armament of the 245th, please. None of my research ever had that detail. The main problem with balance is the OBs. From what I can see (HLIoC and 12th SS histories) the attack is eight unsupported Panthers that run blindly into an ambush by the HLIoC and two M10 troops = seven dead Panthers and three dead M10s. -
CW Buron - Sticking it out (no spoilers)
Brent Pollock (WBRP) replied to noob's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
That depends. Does it still have inaccurate OBs and terrain? I say this mainly based on the HLIoC unit history coupled with Meyer's history of the 12th SS, which has the attack only involving two platoons totalling eight Panthers. They had no artillery or infantry in support and were clueless as to what awaited them in Buron, which should include PIAT-toters and two troops of Wolverines but no ATGs. Also, the 12th SS had no StuGs from what I can read. As to terrain, Buron should be surrounded by a the wall that is normal for Norman clos towns and it and the surrounding terrain should show the wear and tear of a month of heavy fighting. -

Bug in Carbide Carbide
Brent Pollock (WBRP) replied to Sublime's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I have had this occur in CMBN QBs and just now in a CMFI scenario that shipped with the game. Each time it is connected to having more than one unit try to mount up as part of the same orders phase. There has always been enough spots on the truck.
