hello. I've started to learn how to mod the game series last year and its going okay, most of my stuff is not good and i don't post them most of the time so keep that in mind. any type of feedback is welcome.

    any way

this is a unfinished mod of my mine that i am still working on the idea was to change uniforms, voices, faces etc so that means the mod is not finished yet, and since i felt this year is gonna be a tough one for me and i might not complete it. so i decided to post this in case anyone wanted.

its nothing big *it* *adds* :voices from Battlefield (have to work on those but its pretty decent) , and new skins (faces) and new names.

OK... My lack of language skills comes into place... some of my reference material HERE states on page 282 the 'outskirts of Gemuenden',,, Based upon more intense scrutiny of your question I realize that maybe the reference material maybe wrong... The area I am trying to define for the battle ' Skirts at Gemuenden' is in the northeast of Lohr around the area just west of Neuendorf.  I will be changing the name of the battle as not to confuse anyone.

Thanks @JM Stuff for your input, it is always welcome, and keep visiting my site as there is new and good stuff being posted weekly....

EDIT - Battle name change to 'Skirts of Neuendorf'

Yes now got it, thank you for this added interresting infos, sorry to give so much info to a non appropriate place !!

Now we have your "secret " book pdf,  to discover where you fishing yours scencampmaps informations, 😆 (joking) !

I maintain, you have a very interesting web page !

    Hey Guys,

Been feverishly working on the CMFB Campaign Task Force Baum... I am at the point where I am putting battles together (every map complete but one) and I just took the first battle to completion, I play tested it about a dozen times, but would still be looking for feedback...  These are all battles 'Allies vs AI' and the outcome would be important info in the process... plus all the feedback you can give me... Unfortunately, when one does play testing on a campaign it is mostly ruined if you want to play the campaign. But if you want to have some fun and try these battles, I can attest that they might be fun little fights...

First one up is Battle 1 'Wake up Laufach' ... Dusk, 1 Hour, Recon (+), Exit Certain Units, 625 pts per side, Medium Size (leaning toward small), and 4 different AI plans. Depending on the plan you draw, it could be a cake walk or a headache...

Any who if interested, go HERE look around at what's happening and if interested send me an email via the feedback button on the site... I will send you the .btt file for testing...

I will continue on this thread as the other 8 battles become available for testing... My time frame for release of the Campaign is late June, so I figure 4 weeks or so would be great for feedback from the start of a battle...

Thanks for reading and I hope some will respond...

    Cheers

    -Rick

    Rick @Fredrock,

Your webpage is a pearl for scencampmaps lovers, and like I told you, I visited long times ago,  also with the old style that you had !

you are like a second CMMODs !!

Just a question about your Gemuenden map :

Where do you pretent this map in Germany  ?

I doubt this is the map that I describe but we never know if somebody want to created a scenario...

Just to know that in the past I was making some exercice in a camp close to a town of the same name Gemuenden the training and shooting camp was Vogelsang, (the singing bird), this was a military camp after the second war world and many Nato s armies were making some training and exercices, later converted as museum.

For the little story this camp in ww2, was a training camp for soldiers of the the SS, but also and more "a baby factory" where the soldiers created future german soldiers... link

put the little "orange human silhouette, and search to Vogelsang IP close to the (red sign, left above)t and click on "Vogelsang Burg" to discover many pictures of the place !

Areal view give the camp a form of a bird with open wings...

It's not mine. You'll have to ask @Unremarkable Sunray. And I'm not sure he ever developed it further into a mod. He could replace visual assets. But those L1A1s will still be functioning like the M16s or AK74s they replaced (depending on whether he replaced US or Soviet infantry to get the British infantry). So it probably wasn't possible for him to develop it further as a playable mod.

Well than will be soon probably added for the next CMCW module, let us hope, thank you to the infos.

No BAOR screenshots in the 2024 year to come part 2 thread yet. The Part 1 thread did say we could expect some Cold War bones "very soon" now that their artists are freed up from Downfall, so maybe not too much longer (maybe another month or two?). In the meantime, while we wait for screenshots of the real thing, there are still these hacked together screenshots by @Unremarkable Sunray from the Screenshot and Video thread for us to look at.

Very nice can you provide a link to your mod ?

Hold up. This cannot work, currently. I reread your instructions and though what about the rare occasion that a new scenario or campaign is added. What does that look like? So, I cracked open the "CM Final Blitzkrieg v211 Update.rar" file and found that what @JM Stuff is suggesting is not possible to do. There is no new game .exe and no new .btt files available for you to. They are wrapped up inside the setup program.

You need a new game .exe to make a valid patch.

So, if you were just talking about a hypothetical new way to distribute the patches OK but if you are patching your games using this then you are not correctly patching your games.

Do not actually try and follow these instructions - they will not patch your game.

Just a minute... i Will check this again, later when I am home I want to be sure 100 percent myself.

I will use two différents path of différents HD to be sure...!

Thank you to have checked again, could be that I made mistakes now you make me in doubt...🤔

    I agree.

JM, you meant well as always 👍.

Thank you @Vacillator Tim, I check always first to myself a easy way to work,  patches were for me in the past a headaches, and cost me sometimes another full installation, if I find something more easy but also seem to be secure, I share my ideas.

I do the manipulation almost with closing eyes since longtimes ago, but can also make mistakes on things that I dont know, this is why my question to @A Canadian Cat - was IanL to be sure for the correct manipulation to edit the patch,  but to explain all, is a little more difficult and like you can read above, I was forgetting to mention some gestures that I did automaticaly, but believe me, this works,  with a probability of 80 percent to dont makes mistakes, the rest of 20 percents is yourself.

hope this will be usefull for everybodys I keep a good sentence

I should probably pitch that idea :D

That is far to complicated for most humans to follow.

Worse it will not work - you missed handling the .exe file.

You are correct, the most common problem people have is installing to the wrong place. My personal suggestion is to have a check in the install that verifies that the .exe and .brz files already present are where they are expected to be relative to the user chosen install location. That way the install will not proceed if it is all going into the wrong place.

I should probably pitch that idea :D

My personal strategy to handle any roll back need is to copy the current install to a new location. In windows I just <ctrl>C <ctrl>P and end up with a new install of the game. I tweak the folder name to show which version it will be after the patch and install the patch there. I actually do this to allow continuing to play PBEM games with opponents who have not upgraded yet.

Thank you, what do you mean with handling the .exe files ?

He just put the correct things in the correct place isn't ?

And the correct place is only to replace the brz or I am wrong ?

This is interesting to know because since...I do always the same, but never have problem to the version. ?

I mean if BFC created an exe file this must be for a good reason, but for now I don't see what do the exe file?

PS I have myself also a copy on another HD of CM that, I want to apply a patch, than delete it when I guess that the patch is in a correct way edited, but like I see I have to improve again the way that I did untill now. .

I wonder if this could be an alternative to apply patches in CM, "in a easy way", but minimum for me  it's work !

To avoid to makes some mistakes to install a patch and be in the correct path on your PC installation,
this is in my opinion, most of the time, the reason, why a game doesn't  work more, after applying a patch.

This seem to be difficult but in fact is not.

    I proceed as follow...

    1. Check in your main folder data witch files is your last brz names, (I e. CMBN last brz name, normandy v404.brz).
    2. Go to your CMBN patch open and check without dezipped it  the last brz names, (I.e. CMBN pach v404 (normandy v400, v401,v403,v404).
    3. Go back to your main game directory data, check and save the last brz from the same name  in a save folder place, desktop... (i.e. with the name (original CMBN BRZ).
    4. Open the patch file, copy or drag and drop the brzs, in your main game directory data the (news brz from Patches), accept the change and replace it.
    5. Close and restart your game.
    6. Check bottom the version of your game, the patch is apply.

This is avoid to dezipped the complete installer file.

After starting your game check to the version bottom  and if there is no problem to play.

If the procedure doesn't work for you !

    1. Delete the news brz files that you just added,
    2. Drag and drop your save brz, from your desktop(that you save before), and copy and past it like before in your main directory data.
    3. Restart your game to see if nothing is wrong !!
    4. Later apply the installer, nothing will alternated your game if you follow this procedure.

While we wait the modding master to perhaps arise once again, I couldn't help myself.

So here's the first of a few mods of weathered vehicles for the Downfall module. Don't know how many I am going to make, but it certainly won't be all the new Downfall units.
Here's a Dropbox link for the Pershing - but it will only be temporary until the files have become available on https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/

The campaign side will be used using Advanced Tactics Gold, moving units around the map, building units and tracing supplies.

Attacks into a hex can be used with CM using the TOE's of the units involved.

Ah Ok I just watch it, yes this is interesting, I didn't know about it !
I was thinking that you were created yourself, all these UI and Icons to using in CM.
