    a few additional thoughts...maybe not all applicable but I wanted to puke it out for the record
    For scenarios where it is "playable in all modes", the human wants to have flexibility to position HIS troops as he desires. Allies or Axis side. Some players get all angry if you limit them too much. oh well. The 3 different color set up zones can be fun to try and allow some flexibility for some units but not have a big gun up forward too far for example. You can have discontinuous usage of the 3 colors. 2,3,4+ big reds in the back. 2,3,4+ oranges mid way. 2,3,4+ pinks up front. same for the blue side.
    The AI does what it is told. the little yellow dots and you face the unit with the green dot. 32 groups now I think and 5 AI plans. LOTS OF DOTS.
    in the editor make sure all the stuff is in the proper colored set up zone(s) that match to the yellow set up dot of the AI plan for that group...OR IT GLITCHES.
    I think I rattled that off correctly.

    I recall the campaign author can actually give the wording of the 2 options. Very near the beginning of the file...I bolded it below.
    Here is the campaign script for my amateur first campaign from 2015. CMFI Wacht Am Rapido. I used CMFI to be a Battle of the Bulge but placed in Italy!

    FRANCE 1940: I have learned so much about this phase of the war. Wow. Great stuff. <BFC, maybe you should rethink your hardline? A handful of forumite nobody's has created a damn good product in 9 weeks. Imagine what YOU could do with the keys to the game. No "Fake Lobster!" put downs for you guys. > 
    I am working with @JM Stuff to do a small sub-mod to FRANCE 1940. We are creating the Chasseurs Ardennais. I plan to do a scenario, or maybe a mini-campaign, for the "Battle of Bodange" in Belgium, as the Germans tried to get through the Ardennes.

    I think I solved all the issues. I will hold off the release of SILVER until my playtesters give me a clean bill of health.
    Plus I am writing a few more small scenarios for SILVER.
    Here is one I am cranking away on...
    FR40B RUBARTH'S RITTERKREUZ

    You will be in the jackboots of Feldwebel Walter Rubarth of Panzerpionier-Bataillon 49. Only a few rubber assault boats made it across the Meuse. Can you complete the mission that resulted in Rubarth's Ritterkreuz?
    I am guided by my new book..."The Blitzkrieg Legend" and by a great website wikimaginot.eu that shows the locations of and photos of the Sedan bunkers.

    The scenario starts with just a forward observer and you call in the Stukas to hit the bunkers. Then the rafts hit the other bank and the real fun begins...

    German Assault Raft. Blender mod as a flavor object in the drum series. With paddles borrowed from the Schwimmwagen!

    I know you are neck deep in France 1944...but if you ever get a hankering to make anything France 1940, just holler! There is a guide and I can try to answer questions and give advice for how to best manipulate the mod's elements.

    It was very interesting to read this thread as it reminds me of what I often try to do.
    I look at myself and see myself, using a half-*** Hollywood analogy, as a producer, director and actor for CM content creation.
    producer: I gather up existing mods and use them in new projects. scrounger city!
    director: I work with other modders to get stuff made for the new project. many good friends made along the way. 
    actor: I DO make my own new mods for the new project. My lame efforts are the rotted cherry on top! hahaha
    Usually I TRY to give credit but often miss ALL names. The older ghost content. For example, I recently sent a text to EZ for "permission" but had no reply.
    I don't have any lawyers on the payroll because there is no damn payroll.

    CMFI FRANCE 1940 is alive and well.
