  1. Well, I just asked for a volunteer to be Axis CO over in their thread...standby.
  2. One last chance. Does anyone want to volunteer to be the axis side CO?
  3. I now have lost the axis CO as well due to his RL/job demands. So, unfortunately this Operation must be discontinued...
  4. I now have lost the axis CO as well due to his RL/job demands. So, unfortunately this Operation must be discontinued...
  5. Beautiful modded screenshots and very nice descriptions of how you are contemplating this! Thanks Mark.
  6. I think a Sherman crewman just evacuated his bowels when you bounced a Pak40 round off the gun mount on one of the Murderer's row tanks!
  7. Hey! I seem to recall a certain footlocker full of one of your old relative's war photos and a US Army report about the battle....
  8. well, here is the latest map and you can see we have sent 2 units up the right map edge!
  9. New Plan: Chappy and I chatted in a PM and we will play this Operation NOT so much as an historical recreation but just as it plays out here in the PBEMs. So, you will get a battle but it will not be the Casa Berardi low on ammo, no more bloody tea nor biscuits scenario!
  10. Your photo hosting site seems to deadlink your older posts fairly quickly unless you on purpose delete them. I am seeing many of your posts turn to kitty cats. I have mine set to last 1000 years. "Ozymandias mode"
  11. OK, but then it is not really the historical Casa Berardi. I was just trying to portray what happened there but that concept can be ditched if you just want to press forward with the operation as you order it to happen. OR I could use Ian but in the role as CO of another unit. Maybe I use B Coy? OR We could do a Sterlin Castle battle instead
  12. a perfect battle for @IanL It will be a defensive battle and he must hold on despite being low on ammo and manpower.
  13. Be careful: You better not let Guyver get nailed in his flamethrower half-track by some lame arse mortar round! ..or the morale of the student kompanie will go to crap for follow on battles. He is like a papa to the young fallschirmjagers.
  14. Hi Dave, That is a great idea. I am glad you uploaded your fine maps. I wish I had the time to juggle that Bloody Bucket CMPzC Operation. I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach! Phil
  15. I will PM you with ideas for the battle. You get to assign the commander!
  16. I left "Ortona" at work in my desk drawer! I will get it Monday to use it to design the Casa Berardi battle but subbing in an RCR unit as opposed to the Van Doos. OK with that Chappy? The best I will promise to create is a PBEM battle that is semi-fictional based on Casa Berardi actual happenings. +/-
  17. After you sober up... tomorrow or monday start assigning forces to where you want them to be for any possible axis counter-attack. I propose to do that same plan as Dommelen and your battle start positions would be the same or similar as this ends. I can sprinkle craters as entrenching tool scrapings to those areas you designate. But as we previously discussed, first we will have a smaller map, shorter duration, single player Casa Berardi battle. Give everybody a break off the multiplayer mode.
  18. Chappy usually hunkers down with his mama-cita on the weekends so I guess we'll all be in suspense til Monday! I wish we had tank riders in this CMBN. So messed up that they cannot do that for us. At least some vehicles, like shermans and uhhhh...Jagdpanthers!
  19. Looks like the Canadians will take San Leonardo and send the axis packing! Operationally we see something like this:...the 4.2" Heavy Mortars moved to Hex (4,4) and will not be available until Turn 4A. The axis forces are pulling away from San Leonardo in apparent disarray and as intact units are not even visible. But when this battle concludes in about 29 minutes...we are gonna see some of dis stuff.... And maybe some of dis stuff!
  20. I included a Vickers in his reinforcement. I guess the commonwealth units had separate MG battalions.
  21. Hey Mark, 2 cents suggestion for your consideration, here is a trick I always like to try... Place your infantry guns or Pak40's somewhere back behind a big wall that blocks what would be good LOS to a likely enemy approach and then when the clear LOS is needed...blow the wall with a demo charge to get a key hole effect. Oh, another thing with infantry guns. You can place them way back in the safe north-east corner and use an FO to call in their fire.
  22. Hey Chappy, Did you see the little easter egg I gave you? A small reward for always doing such nice AAR's.
  23. But it is a rather hot fall day there in Holland so the Jagdpanther crews rolled the windows down!
