  3. @Ivan Zaitzev Buy the CMFI with the GL module and you can also download the Bulge Mod and the Africa Mod. More bang for your buck! ..and a second set of Ginsu steak knives if you call before midnight.
  4. Just before that sequence Kaminsky probably said "Sarge, you gotta watch me use my zippo to light one of Smuckatelli's farts!"
  5. I can clearly see the freaking fire extinguisher! Why doesn't one of those guys use it to put out Private Smuckatelli's hair fire?
  6. Here is a nice page about the 707th Tank Battalion at the Kall Trail.... http://home.scarlet.be/~sh446368/707th-tank-bn-28th-inf-div.html
  7. I made a slightly altered V2.0 for the scenario. ...and just started today on a steep winding switch backed Kall Trail map (208mx208m) and scenario "Happy Trails". Shermans in 4x4 LOW gear.
  8. Here is a link to this guy's blog where he creates these awesome books for FREE to download as pdf files.Quote:Akhil Kadidal is a writer. He does his own art both photoshop for maps and graphics and pen/pencil drawings.https://chindits.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/hurtgen-campaign/Here are some of the sketches shown in the book...Captain Albert Ernst, German tank ace - drawn from a frame of video at the National Archives showing Ernst surrendering to US troops from the 99th Division in Germany, 1945.German PanzergrenadierGerman Artillery ObserverAmerican Greyhound Armored Car drives past a German wreck.Ernest Hemingway, correspondent for Colliers Magazine, willing participant in combat.
  9. Hi @CMFDR Thanks for the post but not to worry "mon ami", it works. The change of the last letter to a bmp file name is an old flavor object modder's trick! umlaut has a nice pdf here somewhere that explains the system of modding flavor objects as first explored by tempestxxx (tempestzzz?) a guy named Rod! Basically you use the flavor object empty slots for carts or junk and point them towards something other than carts/junk. If you used the same spelling as the stock bmp then it doesn't display your modded version. But the mdr hex files have word counts check sum so if you change the character count it fails. A quick easy change of the last letter is a simple way to solve the issues.
  10. Well, the only thing I can think of is you use a breach team as your designated observer and the touch objective is inside a walled area. The breach team then can blast their way in...and typically no other teams you have can do that. Unless the walled area gets blasted by tank shells or artillery. Just trying to think outside the box... (Hey! What if everybody thought outside the box. Then would it be the special thing to think inside the box?)
  11. Oh, that is too bad, the handles on the special set were genuine imitation imported faux pearl. In the future I plan to make a sherman mod with the vehicle numbers of the 707th Tank Battalion (which operated in support of the 28th Infantry Division in the Hurtgen) and some interesting name on the side like "Mary Lynne".... Thanks for downloading!
  12. Available for a playtest as Allies vs Axis AI only. Limited time. Act now, operators are standing by! ..and if you call before midnight, you'll get a second set of Ginsu steak knives absolutely free. Put mods in your CMFB z folder and scenario in your scenario folder. No spoilers posted here please. PM me feedback, thanks. When Trumpets Fade V1.0
  13. @DasMorbo You can edit it yourself very easily. Then offer it as a mod to others if you so desire.
  14. I recall Steve had given us what I consider to be a crappy choice from my selfish customer POV of getting the extended timeframe with no extra formations OR we get the new formations like Waffen-SS but it stays with the same date range as current. Anybody else recall that thread? In other words, it seemed to me like CMRT doesn't just have ONE module to go but maybe 2! That means a new Ost Front "family" CM Kursk (covering summer of 1943 thru to pre-Bagration with the base game and a few modules) could be tentatively released way out there in 2019 or 2020. So my 2025 estimate for CM Barabarossa may be a little over optimistic. I will file for social security and pre-order CM Barbarossa some time in the late 2020's. 2 things to look forward to....
  15. Kevin, OK, I did the map and the engine tracks all the points. For the 3 battles B1/B2/B3/Finish US was this: 250 of 750/1000 of 1000/0 of 750/2000 of 2500 Axis was 200 of I think 700/0 of 1000/750 of 750/950 of 2450. So at the end we had V=(2000+10)/(950+10) = 2.09 and US had their 30% so they got the overall Campaign Tac Victory. (V < 2.5 AND 30% of total pool for Side A : Tactical Victory) Mystery solved and my memory of campaign scoring has been scrubbed of cobwebs. Thanks fellas.
  16. Yep, there it is. I see it plain as day now. Thanks sir.
  17. Based on the rate of production of the last several years, I predict we can fight the Barbarossa type battles in around 2025. But I could be wrong. It could be later than that.... Maybe they could create a limited scope early war sampler game Combat Mission Early War with limited content to hold us over til then? ...some Poland 39...a bit of France & the Low Countries 1940...some Barbarossa..some North Africa... Dial down and put tight restrictions on the scope and content to get it done. Like model the Panzer II and use it in all those areas. Then they turn back to their reverse chronology system.
  18. I still would like to figure it out as I have used that syntax, maybe I shouldn't but please dropbox me the short 3 battle campaign and I will try to jot down the points for each side for each battle and then I can see if the end overall is using the formula for overall grand total points for each side. OK?
  19. @Ithikial_AU Question: You said this... /*Battle 8C*/ [BATTLE NAME] Mission 8C Fingernails [WIN THRESHOLD] minor victory [NEXT BATTLE IF WIN] _tactical defeat [NEXT BATTLE IF LOSE] _major defeat The bottom 2 lines, normally the script file says to put battle file names there or a blank to end the campaign. Are those battle names at the end and it is a dummy battle or you are saying that forces a result to the end score? Is this documented anywhere or just something you learned along the way? Thanks.
  20. Ithikial, Yes sir, that is how I understood it to work. My personal branching system style is to throw in odd stuff for player decisions and die rolls and coin tosses. It deviates from a pure win vs lose flow chart to just different paths for variety I suppose/hope. Then at the end I am now thinking it will be some player self grading like if unit x, y and z all survive or similar the player can consider it a victory. But still mixed in with battle successes. Kevin, You are the one who said he saw an extra end of campaign results screen, right? My memory had only recalled the results screen for the final battle and the blurb written by the campaign author. Because you could also review the map and see total campaign kill stats for your troops. I am imagining some extra end of campaign results screen would most likely NOT allow that since it is not tied to a battle/map. I haven't finished a campaign in a along time so maybe this is some odd new thing with CMFB? If you are correct in what you saw! But was it late at night? After some wine? Maybe only a dream? Get a screenshot! All this gets me into the mood to do some campaign authoring and campaign playing!
  21. @grunt_GI Hi Jerry, get rid of those underlines and it will work. special editor overlay.bmp
