So let’s hop out of the comic for a bit and present certain information you will find helpful to follow along in the story.
The map is about 1 square kilometre. Side to side and front to back dimensions are just over 1km each. The allies start in a clearing in the upper right corner, the Germans are everywhere else. Time allotted for the battle is one hour.
A ridgeline divides the map, and it borders an impassable river that has 4 crossings - the three fords near the allied zone, and the bridge at the village lower right. The river side of the ridgeline is open, rough ground. It is exposed to fire from units in the village almost to the nearest ford. The inland (north) side of the ridge is densely wooded.
The ground is almost perfectly flat south of the river, from the village to the allied zone. On the other side of the ridge, the land starts flat at the far (east) end, and eventually slopes somewhat steeply in the town, and beyond, to the hilltop.
The hamlet in the upper left (northeast) corner is the completely flat plains area, facing the ridge that rises just at its periphery.
It’s March, so spring melt and rain has left the ground a bit damp.

Oddball-47 got a reaction from George MC in Colossal Crack - with spoilers
Myself and a buddy played this one live, turn-based tonight and man, oh man, has it played out beautifully
thus far. So much action and anticipation!   We played a solid 5 hours and still have about 60 minutes
of game time left to play tonight.
I've never seen so much Allied armor on a map before. It was jaw-dropping to see it all pointed
    at me!
Highly recommended for human vs human play!

Oddball-47 got a reaction from c3k in Moire Removal - Worghern Mod
For anyone playing CMFB who has been seeing the awful mess the moire patterns make, I've come across a mod made
by "Worghern" which removes it. I reccomend that you first fire up "Battle For Chaumant Part 1" before trying the mod out in CMFB to get an
idea of just how awful the moire effect was in that particular scenario.
The download for the mod can be found here:
    http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/combat-mission-final-blitzkrieg/cmfb-scenery/worghern-blitzkrieg-environment-cmfb/
Once downloaded and unzipped, it'll make a "Z" folder with everything contained in the mod within that. I renamed the resultant "Z" folder
to "ZZ_Warghorn CMFB" and just placed it into my main CMFB installation folder within  the DATA\Z subfolders and it works
    very nicely.

    Hi everyone,
I was reading a thread in the forums today with regards to AI plans for use in CM missions.
That got me to thinking about the literally endless possibilities the Arma3 mission makers
can utilize through the use of script commands. List of commands here: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Scripting_Commands_Arma_3
I'm guessing the current engine precludes the introduction of such a system, but perhaps if/when Battlefront begins work on "Engine 4", a
similar system might be looked upon as perhaps having some merit.
Perhaps someone in the forums familiar with both working up AI plans in the CM editors as well as Arma3 might have some thoughts on this.

    Best regards, Odd

I concur, wholeheartedly! The modmakers are an integral part of the Combat Mission series and have been
since the original CM came out 18 years ago. Their selfless contributions to the CM community over almost
two decades have made a tremendous positive impact on my enjoyment of CM. Bless them one and all!
    Best regards, Odd

Just wanted to thank the makers of some of these awesome mods. I put a WWII sound effect miod in CMFB and it is fantastic! The Garands sound like a hefty rifle, and you get the ping as well. Every sound improved; 155mm arty was deep, .50 cal had a dropped a couple of bass layers too. Wow!!
Well done. I did the tracer round as well. Also did one of the terrain mods . The cumulative effect is such that really changes how the game feels.
A round of applause to the creators of these mods, and thanks for their time

I feel your pain, Blow. And right now, I'm pretty disgusted with what I'm seeing as far as friendly aircraft strafing/bombing friendlies.
Over the course of the last four turns of a PBEM game with a friend, I've had two trucks towing ATG guns totally destroyed along
    with the crews/drivers.
While they've managed to knock out two enemy vehicles, I'm not at all happy with the way air-to-ground is working. (or not working)
I actually quit the game twenty seconds into the last "movie" I was so angry.
I'm sure the Battlefront apologists will see fit to post up the usual excuses/rationale for it. But..........
Why do we -never- see friendly fire "incidents" with tanks and infantry. It -never- happens. Period.
    Rationalize -that-.
