  1. Ahh, any time an AT rocket was fired inside an enclosed space. I'm not getting it explain it to me like I am six I looked, again, at Cpl Carrot's comments and gain I must be thick or something because I'm still not seeing him hinting that you are right. Can you hold my hand like I'm four and point it out to me. You are correct: You can already fire PIATs from buildings. That is not new. I might be 46 but sometimes my first digit needs hand holding and my second digit needs things explained v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.
  2. The pilot and co pilot are seated behind the front seats facing the wrong way. Wait that means no one is looking forward - Attack they cannot see to the front!!!!
  3. Or alternatively have the scenario end be when the bridge would have been blown. "You must secure the bridge and surrounding buildings before the order can be received to blow the bridge."
  4. Oh that sucks. I have very close to stopped using cover arcs (only use them to: keep guys from firing at long range or at all - only circular; allow an immobilized tank to face a different way - only 180 and right to the edge of the map; keep some AT asset from exposing itself to infantry - armour cover arc circular covering the entire map) You mentioned one? What - please hint because I cannot find it. And it cannot be the PIAT firing from indoors because that is *not* new. I have a request. Could you identify your turns by the clock instead of turn number, please. Something like Minute 50 or Minute 50-49. That helps us keep two AAR's in sync.
  5. You are turning out some great screen shots - keep up the good work.
  6. I have a request. Instead of turn numbers could you identify the turn by the clock time? Please. Something like Minute 32 or Minute 32-31. That makes it much easier to keep the two threads in sync. Or better yet, it might make him think that you are missing him totally.
  7. Direct fire from tanks or other HE equipped guns. I do not believe that demo charges are effective.
  8. I move one of the AT teams up to try to cover 2 Platoon's retreat from that tank. Another team is heading the other way to address a new tank threat. Both AT teams are broken so it is unclear what kind of a job they will do. Everyone else, still accepting orders, makes for cover.
  9. Some good news. The lone survivor of 2 Platoon HQ picked up his rifle and continued the fight. After throwing a grenade the made a break for saftey - directly towards the enemy. Right now 2 Platoon is commanded by Bauer but he is currently trying to out run Bren gun bullets. Here is why 2 Platoon HQ decided to stay in the fight. He got some strong support from one of the retreating fire teams. They were looking good until the tank showed up. A couple of HE shells later and a ton of MG fire and they gave up the fight. The artillery barrage continued for the first half of the turn. 1 Platoon is now commanded by Klapp Due to the artillery and the pounding that 2 Platoon took, I only have three non-broken fire teams left. As you can see those tanks are still blasting away as well.
  10. There is considerable debate amongst soldiers if camo has any effect in real life. By that I mean comparing pattern A vs pattern B vs pattern C. I do *not* mean comparing red overalls vs camo.
  11. Keep it simple. Zip it up on to one .zip file and uploaded it where it will fit. If it ends up being too big for the repository here then just put it on Green as Jade's site. There is no point in hacking around and doing hand stands because of some arbitrary upload limit - ignore services that do that and use others. The goal is to make it easy for end users. And that means one download file in a standard format. Just my opinion.
  12. True. The first half of my test was to see if infantry sneaking up with concealment would get spotted and they did not. As expected. Then I tried to see what would happen with no concealment. I think I showed how well tanks spot behind them selves when infantry are not concealed. I guess the test lanes could be used to conduct a third variation and have the Shrek team crawl through the bocage gap and see if they get spotted.
  13. Yeah, I am not sure why he went that way but he does like tanks. We have talked a lot about this game and he sees that not having infantry is costing him. I am not sure he would pick an "infantry force with tanks to support it" or pick a "tank force with infantry to see for it" next time but he gets that not having any is causing him problems.
  14. Since their platoon HQ has spotted the Achilles TD the Shrek team heads into the alley to see if they can get a shot at it. Other teams move forward a little at the edge of town.
  15. That Churchill tank that came back into town wreaked havoc for the whole turn. It brought down a building and took out four more infantry. Luckily the Panther arrived in the ding seconds of the turn and even though the Churchill got the first shot away the Panther struck true. Hopefully that will be that but I will have to wait until the next turn to see for sure. Over near the farm my extraction of the forward teams fails. Both the Shrek team and the HQ team take casualties. The good news is that as the turn closed one of the Platoon HQ units in town spots the Achilles. That dark blob in the window hides the TD. You can see it better from the screen shot in the orders below.
  16. The enemy artillery did its job this turn. My men barely did anything other than surrender or run for their lives. There was no more shots fired at those tanks. Instead one of the loaders was lost to artillery and the Shrek holder is keeping a low profile. Other members of 1 Platoon are being pounded as well. 2 Platoon's trench teams run for it and are cut down or just give up.
  17. I had not thought of that. Good idea. It was not really a big issue I just kept the US tanks set with orders to hold their ground and move back. It was only this once that I had a test invalidated. It would have been less work though
  18. Yay! Glad to hear it. That's right we have not had a patch to CMBN since GL arrived. I guess it will come MG.
  19. Oh, oh this is a scary conversation. I thought someone did some testing a while back and showed that mines were not working as expected in the 2.01 patch. At the time I thought a tester reported sending the problem on to BFC. I really hope this is not another example of the problem not getting through to the right people.
  20. Wow I am glad someone is ready. I was beginning to wonder. Thanks Here I did some testing around one of the most bitterly complained about subjects and I got no response at all. I figured some one would at least tell me my test method was wrong I do not know what to think. To me it looks like running up behind a tank to kill it is a 50 50 kind of action. I have no idea if that is reasonable or not. My main trouble with it is that is when do you ever get to do that in game? I mean there would be someone else around. Another tank some infantry. Any one of them would spot you before you made it to the tank.
  21. Wow, I was going to say those pictures look good and ask you what macro lens you used.
  22. I am certainly looking forward to that. I suspect that they have a battalion of infantry but only Stuart tanks. If we are able to bring some of our armour to bear in the counter attack we can get some pay back for sure.
  23. +1 from me If you are playing the turns on your low res system the write them up with screen shots from that system. When you play your turns on your better system then write them up with screen shots from the better system. Don't replay turns you have already played just to capture screen shots.
  24. OK then I'll see what I can do. I still have a couple of squads in good order and a working AT gun so I'll hang in there longer. Clearly you had a more interesting college life than I did
