  1. In my opinion playing a wargame is for the strategy and tactics BUT ALSO for the lust of destruction and chaos. This second aspect is very neglected/unattended in CM as the damage models are not so good looking and there is not even fire yet (mind you: in a wargame!). This is a bit disappointing, of course. To have a completely destructable environment in CM like in the "Men of War" series would be great. OK, but this is only my wishing (or what I'm dreaming of) and my two cents about this topic. I will not discuss about BFCs capabilities etc. And regarding STEAM @Wiggum15: There is already a very good statement from BFC regarding this in a thread called: "Sell on Steam?" ----> http://community.battlefront.com/topic/117381-sell-on-steam/page-20?hl=steam (last comment from BF) which I can understand very well and respect.
  2. Hello everybody, I've started a multiplayer PBEM match in CMRT (latest version 1.03), Russian Attack, large, Sept. 1944. I'm playing the Germans and while I'm buying my units I must realize that there is no barbed wire available for the German side. But only for the German side - Russian player still can buy barbed wire. Now my question: Is this just only a little error/mistake (something forgotten) or is this owed to the time period when Operation Bagration was going on and the Germans where on the withdrawal and had no time to build stronger fortifications resp. defensive lines? But if it is meant that way, I'm wondering that there are still anti-tank obstacles/barriers available as well as concrete/cement bunkers for the German side. Thank you in advance for your replies.
  3. Hey mates, I really recommend you to join a Combat Mission Fanclub like "The Blitz Wargaming Club", "The Few Good Men" or "We Band Of Brothers" etc. for to easier find an opponent/gaming partner. There are also ladders, campaigns and tournaments organised. Just as a friendly meant hint/tip.
  4. For to find multiplayer/PBEM opponents I recommend you join a CM gamer community like "The Blitz Wargaming Club" or "The Few Good Men". http://www.theblitz.org/ http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/
  5. @Spitzenhund: For to find multiplayer/PBEM opponents I recommend to join a CM gamer community like "The Blitz Wargaming Club" or "The Few Good Men".
  6. He did it again ... ! I like your muzzle flashs AND uniform mods! Always great work! Thank you!
  7. I may give another example in CMFI, which I detected recently: There is the possibility (in 1944) to choose between two different German mortar teams. One costs 46 points and the other 47 points (in this example both are on experience level "green"). The difference is that the group leader of the 46 points team has only a Luger pistol whereas the other has an MP40 submachinegun. Oops! That was meant in direct response to MikeyD's post when AKD posted something too in between while I was writing this. My post is not meant to be a complaint but an additional example of what MikeyD was explaining.
  8. Enlist to "The Few Good Men" today and enjoy your Black Sea battles in exciting H2H (head to head) multiplayer fights!
  9. Me too. Standing by. *krrk* Roger, Eagle two, over. *krrk*
  10. *whistle" *fife* *jubilate* Yeeeeeeaaaahhhh!
  11. This is you level of argumantation...? For ppl like you the world is easy - go and enjoy yourself.
  12. Nonsense - please read more carefully. My post is about price and content.
  13. Same here. All Combat Mission x2 titles with their modules are so expensive but they are still lacking so many features, that it is a real brazenness/impertinence to let the customers pay for every little additional feature/improvement that should have been in the game already from the beginning - like it is the case in other wargames like e.g. the "Men of War" series etc. Enough is enough - I won't be a party to that.
  14. LOL! That's the solution! @Skwabie: Thanks a lot for your response! Somehow I was not aware that 1944 technology is also available in CMFI already.
  15. I'm doing a lot of CMFI PBEM matches at the moment while playing a long campaign as the Germans (www. thefewgoodmen.com --> http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/threads/the-rico-shorker-war.18952/ ) and I must say that the AT weapons for the German infantry are insufficient. Satchel charges can only be thrown at tanks by lucky occasion (happened only 1x in 5 defences and the AT team died afterwards) and the rifle grenades have no effect - absolutely no effect to British Shermans (opponent always plays Brits). So I get regularly steam rolled by his Shermans and even Stuarts while my German infantry has NOTHING against these tanks. There should be the possibility of just buying an "untypical/ or rare" AT rifle team that costs a lot of rarity points. This would help against the Stuarts and maybe destroy the optics, machine guns, chains etc. of the Shermans. And after I have read the other comments, I also plead for implementing the "Panzerwurfmine" into CMFI for to add some more balance to the game.
  16. I found CMBO in 2001 or so by accident/chance/luck in an Electronic Market, then joined a PBEM player's club around 2003/2004 when I had CMBB. In this club's forum I also heard about CMx2 in 2011 (or 2010?). We were all concerned/worried that CMBN was not available in Electronic Markets and wasn't even mentioned in the biggest/leading gaming magazines in Germany so how should gamers find this game? (like we did 10 years ago) I guess the answer is that times have changed: Today there is YouTube and Internet in general with links to Facebook (social networks) etc. - news are spreading much faster today. I'm trying to make CMx2 popular by making YouTube AAR videos and by mentioning the game in comments about other WWII related games like "Men of War", "CoH" etc. and by adding as much people as possible to my Google profile. I spread the word!
  17. Close Combat is still fun and the latest part "Gateway to Caen" with improved graphics is absolutely great. I wished there were such beautifully designed maps in CMBN as they are in Close Combat's Normandy. Please make looki looki here: ----> http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/threads/close-combat-gateway-to-caen.20256/
  18. I support your request and "it is not possible" is no answer in a computer game.
  19. Thank you all for your replies, photo links and explanations! Great! Learned something again about WWII tanks though.
  20. I happily watched the new video(s) from ChrisND about Red Thunder (Link--> ) but when I saw the infantry men's backpacks/rucksacks I was a bit disappointed I must say. In my opinion they are too big and at the same time too short and squarish/quadratic - it should be smaller and longer, I think (and maybe here and there be combined with a rolled blanket). Please look at this video: What do you guys say?
  21. And what about the other decals - like Red Stars, letters and numbers - the soviet tanks are looking very boring and blank at the moment.
  22. @Joe and @Womble Just to add an info to this: If you are using a "recruit" tank crew they are even acting too slow for pulling only the trigger of the machine gun at a 15 seconds stop - not to mention the main gun... These crews need a stop of about 30 seconds to fire. Unfortunately the command "open/close turret lock" doesn't work at the moment with the waypoints.
  23. I'm supporting your request for this option too. AND - there should be also an option for the wind settings.
