  1. 'Gebirgsjaegers' would in all probability an English language word anyway (English Plural ending on German word), so you can pronounce it as you like. die Gebirgsjäger = Nominativ Singular + Nominativ/Akkusativ Plural but: "das Gewehr des Gebirgsjägers" (= "the Gebirgsjaeger's rifle") Genitiv Singular
  2. Looks very good. But I will not mod Heer with SS Camo. So sadly no use for this. Please use your talent to make a proper mod for Heer units. Waffen-SS will come with next module.
  3. Nice story but some nit-picking: It's written "Schmutziger Buschkrieg".
  4. Hab' das Ding seit 16.6.2011 und diese Tatsache auch hier in diesem Thread bereits kundgetan.
  5. Already in. Engineers have blasters among them. You can order these guys to blast walls and bocage with satchel charges for instance.
  6. It's like it is in CMSF... I just hope that the issue is near the top of the 'to do list' after Normandy is out now...
  7. I have played CMx2 since CMSF came out and I am used to this tabs. Sorry to spoil the fun, but I would be upset if the tabs would be taken away. But I don't think it will happen anyway...
  8. I have uploaded version 1.1 at the repository and warehouse. My Grid Grass Mod works best with Vein's mod, I also tested it with plain demo and it looks also good. @GaJ: The grid is on the grass tile that you see when most zoomed in. My mod can be used with Niessuh's mod, but at my system it looks not very well, and the grids are also not congruent.
  9. Extract the downloaded zip file of my mod and put the z-folder which contains the grided terrain .bmp-files IN the z-folder of your CMBN-installation. That should make shure that the grided files are loaded after Vein's terrain mod. You could also 'RezExplode' Vein's mod and then put my grided .bmp files in this expolded folder (they should actually be copied in some extra folder inside the exploded mod folder called ground tiles.) Then So basically you would just implement my mod in Vein's mod in this way. First method (z-folder inside z-folder) is the better method, because you can add and take away the grid later much more easy. I will upload a version of my grid grass-mod later today, whit corrected readme. Sorry again to Vein for the nickname muddle. Edit: Method of Stingray is also good idea.
  10. Also from me many thanks for this to theFightingSeabee. Got the AI to surrender playing it as the Rangers of course at the first try. Up the cliff and then systematicaly inwards on broad front. 30% wounded+killed+missed.
  11. Ups, seems I have wrongly renamed his mod after I worked with the mod tools. Thank you for pointing out, will upload corrected version soon. But the mod as such will function anyway.
  12. ...for CMx2 Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy Based on Vile's TerrainDesaturation mod. - should be compatible with all grassmods (or better say terrain tile sets, the grass tile is always this mod if you use it. And remember that you can always change the tile saturation with a graphic programm) - features longitude lines (good for orientation check and improved range estimation - only grass, yellow grass and green crop tiles affected for better overall map look To install place the folder named 'z' in the 'data' folder of CMBN. (or even better: copy the z folder inside your .../data/z-folder to make shure the grid gets loaded. Uploaded to reprository and GaJ's Mod Warehouse.
  13. That's exactly as I see it. I also would like to get an official statement. Would also nice to know how high on the list a better FOW implention is. Will we see it in one of the modules of CMBN or will we have to wait at least to the Bulge-game?
  14. See post of YankeeDog + In warrior mode explanation manual talks about "...takes a realistic amount of time...", when it come to arty and buddy-aid. ...and after mention of "special restrictions on what the player can do and when" in the iron mode section, the manual even goes on and alludes "...While even more realistic than the other settings...". Buddy-aid in iron mode (real treatment of wounded soldiers, not just weapon+ammo sacking) can take very different amounts of time. Never played any other mode than Iron, but in this way I'm always on the save side when it comes to the question of how to play the game in the most realistic mode possible.
  15. Amizaur...mmmh...Amizaur....Sensors....database...mod...water-...-fall-...dangerous...-screens...AH!--> ...Luftwolf
  16. Many thanks oddball. I took most of the sounds of this mod for my installation.
  17. I too have seen this "Planning" once. It was when I played the fresh NATO-module for CMSF. My Panzergrenadier (Bundeswehr) disembarked from their MARDERS but insted to run for the cover I had pointed to with a waypoint, they where standing in the open 1-2 turns just 'planning' and shoot down by the Syrians . Never reported it as a bug, because I have not ever seen it again. Just remembered that when read this thread now.
19. Got my steelbox at this moment from the mail-women at my home door. Had to pay additionaly 'just' 10,68 €. No damage, looks awesome. All perfect for me. Thank you Battlefront.
  20. Thank you all for trying out and nice comments. The variations folder realy just contains what was left over after I had decided which pics to choose. The ones in the .brz-file I have sharpened and color corrected till it looked most perfect (at least on my screen). The ones in the folder are only worked on to some decree, some are still named wrong or even double. Just want them to give as bonus to work on. Main function of the unit portrait screen is to show to which main branch of service (Waffengattung) a unit belongs. So problem was to find good scene which despics this branch in a way that is easy to distinguish from each other (more or less) and is still observable after shrinking it to 51x57 pixels. In the end I took the pictures in the .brz-file, because they over all matched best my criteria. I especialy gave the german armor this particular pic because it has a 'little' signal effect when used during play. The american armor features a Rino-Sherman, which also matches best for the Normandy setting.
  21. Instant classic. I especially like all the 'easter-eggs' to find. Very, very good one. Many thanks Tom. I hope we will also see 'Riesberg' and 'Last Defence' from you, to get a full collection.
  22. It can be used in conjunction with other mods: Bil's Improved Branch Insignia Bil's Improved Rank Icons Marco Bergman's Vehicle and Weapon Silhouettes Mod Niessuh_unit_info_thumbs ... The 'alternatives'-folder contains other variations to choose from: Picture sourced from various plastic miniature box drawings. uploaded to battlefront repository and GreenAsJade's Combat Mission Mods Warehouse (http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/).
  23. If Turkey enters Syria and get's 'attacked' there, it would have no legal reason to invoke article 5 NATO treaty...
