  1. thanks which side did you play? and how did you do? assuimg the "Syrian base" scenario is what you refer to...
  2. via feedback i will do a small tweak to the scoring, i wanted both sides to lose points for losing friendly forces, not gain points!
  3. I have had a few in my computing lifetime, but this last one was pretty fierce! While i was away Lyn casually opened an e-mail from what she thought was a classmate w/attachment before realizing something was fishy... at that point it was to late. She deleted the e-mail and went about business as usual. Later that evening she put it on hibernate for a while. She turns it on later and it begins. It takes forever to boot to main screen, when finally there it wont go online, and e-mail will not work. and then it goes into a restart cycle. she leaves it be and it hangs on a system restore screen till i get back. I return home and notice the screen and the air of injury about or computer and exclaim "baby what the hell is wrong with the computer?!" "i don't know it's just acting funny" I nod my head in disbelief and set to work. hours later after system restore gets cutoff midpoint and countless re-boots fail. I manage to get moments at a time in safe mode before the virus decides to start the re-boot cycle again. with each brief moment i am able to grab vital info i need for Lyns school projects and maps i have made for CMSF (like i said vital info!!!) after doing this for a while i tire, shut it down before it can re-boot again, and call it a night. next morning i turn it on to see if i missed any info before re-formatting. it turns on fine as if nothing happened! I'm flabbergasted but not fooled. i notice my antivirus is gone... evil bastard wanted me to surf the web and send e-mails to spread it i imagine! anyway, i grab a few more items off the computer and put in the system disk. restart and begin the wipe drive/reformat process... I swear i could almost hear its electronic scream of frustration as it was quickly transformed into zeros...
  4. thankyou! i hope folks enjoy playing on it! i look forward to any feedback!
  5. After the fall of Germany, Zhukov became the first commander of the Soviet occupation zone in Germany. As the most prominent Soviet military commander of the Second World War, he inspected the Victory Parade in Red Square in Moscow in 1945 while riding a white stallion. American General Dwight D. Eisenhower, the supreme Allied commander in the West, was a great admirer of Zhukov,[specify] and the two toured the Soviet Union together in the immediate aftermath of the victory over Germany.
  6. the story seems to be still developing but apparently after refusing to step down he is no longer in power... if this really pans out, then I am really impressed! this was a relatively nonviolent revolution! its good to see this as a possibility! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ml_egypt http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ml_egypt
  7. I'm unsure why but the scenario I submitted "H2H Syrian Base" was made available in the repository, but no sticky announcement was made here... so I'll make it minus the stickiness... download it here: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=989 This Scenario is designed for head to head play, although there is a basic AI setup for a blue versus red ai game if desired. British forces assault a well fortified Syrian Base. British and Marines modules needed to play.
  8. as far as military tech goes these are kinda scary as well: http://robotstocknews.blogspot.com/2007/11/irobot-metal-storm-sign-warrior-deal.html
  9. so flying terminators basically...
  10. of course "axis & allies" is a given. advanced squad leader is very fun as well... on a more abstract level the ancient game "Go" is great!
  11. my super bowl pick.... I DONT CARE! FOR THE WIN!!!
  12. I saved these recently... video one is a funny video showing a tank crew miraculously boarding a tank in 4 seconds... (you have to know how to fly) http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c10/toxiczen/?action=view&current=manningatank.mp4 and video two is a car bomber getting a little help from above allwing it to defy gravity momentarily... http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c10/toxiczen/?action=view&current=odddriverVBIED.mp4
  13. I myself am really looking forward to CMBN and all it's modules... I very much enjoy CMSF and all it's modules as well... Modern warfare definitely has it's pro's and cons, but i find the game very fun especially in H2H games. it's thrilling to interrupt an orderly blue advance with some IED's or carbombs. And it is quite fun to hose down an area with high velocity cannon fire from a Marder... for the sake of balance i have fond great scenarios with red having superior position or numbers against blue to be quite balanced indeed. as well as blue on blue or red on red games... I imagine when CMBN finally comes out i will be playing both CMSF and CMBN regularly... I may finally drop off on my CMAK play though as the club im in "The band of brothers combat mission club" is going to support CMBN so i wont be negligent in no longer playing CMAK...
  14. link seems dead as well... now it worked!
  15. i agree it would make a great module, for an already popular game! I have heard mentioned before that battlefront is now done with this game excepting patches... But! it would be cool just the same to see expanded modules.
  16. I finally saw it to the end. I must say i enjoyed the whole thing, it was compelling, and evoked some emotions as well as making me think. The part where they break down how society could go about enacting the more sustainable civilization was dry in some parts, and could maybe have been left out and just referred to for exploration at there website. But overall I'm really glad i was able to see it! I think the established track humanity is on is a crash course to destruction, and as the narrator says "this s###'s got to go!"
  17. oh it wont, im not sharing it for a pat on the back or a right on... im glad you were able to see part of it!
  18. I have watched the first hour and am amazed... Some obvious stuff covered and a lot of compelling material as well. It goes into myths our culture engenders about class and tendencies towards violence. The inherent self destructiveness of our current economic system founded on large scale consumption of finite resources for a disproportionately small amount of people, and more.... It has a lot of very educated folks. speaking in it, Im going to watch the rest soon. I recommend highly!
  19. watch! let me know what you think, im going to watch later tonight...
  20. thanks Meatetr for a butthole surfers cover song i never yet heard! "hurdygurdy" very cool...
  21. music and drugs tend to go together quite often... classic quote from bill hicks i first heard on the tool song "third eye" "See, I think drugs have done some *good* things for us, I really do. And if you don’t believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a Favor: go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your cd’s and burn em’. 'Cause you know what? The musicians who’ve made all that great music that’s enhanced your lives throughout the years... Rrrrrrrrrrrrreal ------ high on drugs." --Bill Hicks
  22. WHA?! not to often i find someone else who listens/listened to Throbbing Gristle... right on!
  23. scarecrow is very cool, among many things i love how the lyrics tie in with the image of the scarecrow... If you like jesus built my hotrod (sung by Gibby) you may like or already do like "The butthole surfers" especially there older stuff...
