dissapearing flavor objects
toxic.zen replied to toxic.zen's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
well that didn't work, I re-installed cmsf and all the modules as instructed, and this time Nortons antivirus removed the modules thinking they looked "suspicious" and the flavor objects previously mentioned were gone again... I think the problem is with nortons perhaps, although i have CMSF on my laptop with Nortons and don't have this issue... my subscription is about to expire anyway, so i thin i will remove Nortons and install AVG instead, then maybe i will have "flavor" again... -
someone wrote a song about this! I can totally relate...

dissapearing flavor objects

so I'm guessing nobody has seen this happen before, no ideas on fixing it? i was hoping to avoid a re-install but this is looking like the only solution... -
in building a scenario i noticed the road sign objects and both types of streetlight objects are gone... i first thought it may be a weird byproduct of mods, so i emptied my z folder and checked. they were still gone. When i try to access them in the editor nothing happens, and the little image icon for them is just grey/black like the rest of the background. how can i get these flavor objects back?

that brings me back! does anybody remember using this: to surf the "net" i think i still have my old C=64 in my parents basement somewhere... -
Do you play CMSF mostly on Singleplayer?
toxic.zen replied to Armchair_Ranger's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
almost every time i play it is against a human opponent. I have about three regular people I play against. -
you kill babies and shoot their parents, and burn a bunch of stuff? references to threads I'm unaware of i suppose. but really if you don't do or support these things then people are idiots for insisting that you do. being a devils advocate is noteworthy and functional to a point, as it helps the other side (even if it i s aside you agree with) flesh out there argument and or point. of course the "devil" has to be mindful of when a valid point is made as well. (IMHO) most hated poster? was there a vote taken?

huzzah! thankyou...

on page 101 of the base game manual it says to "...export the template first, fill in your orders into the template, and then import the completed text." I want to do this to make the final product of my scenario look better, but I have failed to locate this template! wherein doth it lie?

what "Major SNAFU" typed is along my thinking as well... play thinking that anti-personnel is best for exposed infantry whether on the ground or on a roof. (though when I'm on the receiving end of this i can often get my infantry to lower floors with a few casualties) general for an obscured area that may have both infantry and armor, or for building demolition, and armor i usually reserve for surgical armor strikes.

http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2006/10mar_stormwarning/ or 2011 anyway... close enough! even if we just get some widespread power failures due to emp's the effects could be significant! i need a campfire powered water distiller already... -
i have never had to deal with a boot sector virus. can they actually be removed without scrapping the hard drive?

i myself have always thought more realistic fatalities and injuries would help immersion as well. but i don't think the joy of implementing strategy or playing a war game is lost without it either... nor do i think one is sick if one wants to see it in a game... my $0.02

hmmmmmm i re-submitted last night, i think it may take a while for repository to re-update link.

toxic.zen replied to LJFHutch's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1

(note you have to make a post to see all the forums at general hawks) -
