  1. That was a good documentary.Talk about a bad day. There's that 'if it could go wrong it will' saying in perfect demonstration for every one to see take place on a battlefield. That's some serious stress.Seemed like a Hard fight, the guns broke down, the jackals broke down and one flipped over, the "bloody Yank rounds"seemed to be jamming and were proving hard to use while they were under fire, and above all, the tow cable pulling along another busted Jackal snaps in the middle of the open, in the middle of a firefight! And those bullets hitting the Jackal was hair raising. It showed the Taliban firing at them quite well and you could see the man and the flash's of the gun. It's a shame two Brits got hit in this Documentary, one by a bullet in the leg, the other an IED under his Jackal. Those are some mighty fine and Brave Lads out there and it was impressive how they kept cool. The one guy who got shot in the leg was flippin a bit, but hey, he got SHOT.Keep up the Good fight.
  2. Hcrof and Mike, Good game, I was also hanging on every move that got posted.Looks like there was a lot more casualties then what I thought. You guys really pounded the hell out each other. All those smoke plumes signal that a fierce battle took place. Congratulations to Mike, for coming out on top with the victory. Congratulations to Hcrof also for putting up a good fight and for posting the DAR, made for a good read when checking the forums.Great stuff. It will be interesting to read Mikes point of view on the battle now.Looking forward to your report Mike, along with some screen shots.Well played:)
  3. You guys are worse then the paparazzi!.Everytime you type in CMN update, your words act as the camera flash's constantly going off whenever BFC comes out to say 7 and a half words.:DI would be laying low to if I were them. No matter what he types he's gonna get the " can we get a bone" question lol. Steve could come on here and say " nice weather we are having here" and everyone one will reply "yes indeed,....so...wheres our bone?..." or he could say "hey, how about the Olympics, some good events taking place", and everyone would reply " indeed there is,..... but how about that bone?" Vocabularies are being reduced to a bone. You'll all be sitting in a chair with a therapist asking you what you see in these pictures he's about to present, and you will all reply "that's a bone....that's a Normandy bone......bone.....bone..... that should be a bone....kinda looks like a bone......um...I don't know...ahhh yessss.....that's definitely a BONE!!" Yall turned into a bunch of Boneheaded Zombies. Maybe you should take your minds of the game, and go out on the week end to get a real bone, if you know what I mean, wink, wink.:D
  4. I'm keeping my eye out for Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. As for other games I'm trying to keep a good look out for a grand realistic strategy war game, from any era.
  5. Oddly enough, I remember seeing something similar before on a couple website a while ago.I remember that, because it looked unique. The web site was half faded and a little blurry and out of focus, and vaguely you could see small figures, something that resembled and looked like the code you see in the movie 'The Matrix',all those 1 and 0 trying to form an image.I thought it was a glitch with their web site, and that the code to form the images was only half working.I never seen it again anywhere else, and I don't remember what site it was. It could even be a site you linked me to for all I know, Have you been digging somewhere, where you shouldn't have been, John?
  6. Fruit with a big mouth and a little chipmunk taking a picture while Giraffes roam near a stream in a big grassy field by a lighthouse, is definitely in the blue and yellow purple pills category. It does not cheer me up as much as the Beta Tester cheerleaders pic and I find Adam Sandler and Chris Rock hilarious. You my friend need help from people in white coats. I'm nowhere near the 40's and 50's age group, and what the hell is a huge internet "meme"?
  7. That's what I thought to until I played your 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum' scenario:).I could have used another 30mins.:DMaybe I was just to cautious and I think I also forgot to give myself the extra 15 mins. I later realized I accidentally deleted the pics to that AAR to.It was only 2 pics, but what a bummer anyways.
  8. I was very worried that I didn't have enough of the right hardware to take out those tanks.I think at the end of the game most if not all AT was used up on the right flank. If the Jav's and AAV's did not show up, I would have been in real trouble, because all my remaining AT would be located on the left flank, and by time they'd cross and reach the right flank, it would be all over.Plus on top of that,if they were to move to the right flank, they would be moving under fire and no doubt more Marines would go down. 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway)was also in charge of the AAV's and fought in the second mission in HAMIDIYAH.I guess if you lost him in the previous mission, then he was excluded from this one.Makes me wonder if I'll see him again, because his vehicle got disabled.
  9. How about a waypoint synchronization command? Where one unit doesn't proceed beyond their waypoint until the other unit gets to their specific waypoint. Then with both waypoints synchronized together, both units get the go ahead and start to move out at the same time with each other, after the 2 synchronized waypoints are met. Then that way the player doesn't have to guess about what kind of time delay to give them. This feature is actually in the Arma editor, and I think it would fit well into this game.I would have loved to have this option in some situations and plus it could give mission makers another tool to use while planning AI moves. Just another brainstorm idea:).
  10. Those ideas sound good. The majority of us, just want to continue on and play the map to the fullest without having everyone pack up,calling it a day, and going home taking their bullets and guns with them when the time expires. You can also categorize me in the 'please no time limit' crowd(and please beta testers hold your kicks and punch's), but I understand why it's there.I was also just wondering though if the CMSF developers will eventually look to drop the time limit as they journey further down the road as they look to create and release new titles. To be fair this game is great and I praised it enough times and will continue to do so, but i think most of us out there would really like to see the game evolve and get past the time limit. Having an open ended play style is what most people fiend for.So they can approach a situation any which way they like.It gives them the most creativity and allows them to use their imagination further. With all that said though,I'm sure the creators get it and understand our wish's on the time limit affair,The old saying "easier said then done" comes into play in this topic and I think they would have to redesign the whole game engine and start over if they were to leave the time limit out. Can't exactly rub a genie lamp and then poof, the BFC genie makes it happen, but having no time limit would be one BFC genie wish.
  11. Thanks for the comments.I like the picture with the Syrian soldier pointing out where he was shot from to.I couldn't believe it when I paused and saw that.Right away I had to look at it from all angles to see what the best view was, and took a pic.The view from the Marine that shot him was the best view by far. This is my first play through.Whatever happens, happens and there are no restarts. The first mission I played twice, because as I played it the first time when i got it, I kid you not, my power went out ,then back on just as I was getting the troops moving into the town. That right there killed my appetite to start the mission over, so I didn't start the campaign again until way later on.After I played some other missions and did some AAR's and read some others, I figured I'll post a few on the Marines campaign. Most people played it, so I figure they should recognize each mission. When typing the AAR and carefully reading the briefing to get a clear understanding of what is happening, it made me really focus on what coarse of action I should take and things became fairly clear on what I should do.Believe me, I took time to create a plan to get through each mission. I read and typed up the briefing and spent time scanning the map when i could, then turned the game off,I would think about it for a while from time to time on what i should do, then I turned the game on and played it the next day or after or when ever time permits, with a clear vision of my intention.Let's just say I put a lot of focus into it,and I consider the campaigns as the exam:).I'm also following the campaign and checking out these locations on Google Earth:D It now made me a little wiser on the lay of the land in that part of the world(I Love Google Earth, gives you the world for you to view, just amazing). CMSF seems to have turned into a little hobby for me, to bad I don't get a paycheck from it:p.I played CMSF enough times now to understand most of what works and what doesn't within the game and how to preserve the troops. That is my greatest goal throughout this whole campaign,is to preserve the troops. The other greatest goal is to get all priority and main objectives and to make sure I secure enough points for a win.I would rather get 2 out of 3 objectives with low casualties, then 3 out of 3 objectives with medium to high casualties. That's my intent anyways for the campaign, who know whether it plays out that way or not. So far in the first 3 missions, I think 5 Marines got WIA and no fatalities yet, some very close calls with friendly fire also.I also spent time(to much) staring at the positions I started at, wondering if they are going to get artillery dumped on them.More often then not, mission makers always hit you with artillery in the opening of the game. It's basically the only sure way to hit the player good and give him casualties, so now I always expect to get hit with arty where ever the players troops are positioned.Almost lost a MG team at the OP when the arty hit, and i thought to myself 'I knew it'. Here's a pic of the Syrian soldier who ran up the hill and threw the grenade 60 meters.Behind you can see the holes where the artillery hit by the OP. AAV's are raining MK19 fire on an enemy BTR APC.It was very impressive seeing the MK19 rounds, arc onto it's target with a high rate of fire.It Created a MK rainbow.
  12. Afreu, I tried playing your mission and as you mentioned, it was no surprise I ran into lag. When I had 2 companies it started to lag every time I moved a platoon, so I decided to edit it and only use B company and its attachments and delete the rest of the ground reinforcements. It's the first time I took time to understand how to do that in the editor and I was able to play the game lag free with 1 Company of Brits, plus the 3 ammo trucks.I accidentally deleted the D company guys, I wanted to keep them, but oops. Can be considered a SPOILER. I also boosted the timer up to 4hours figuring i was gonna get bogged down in firefights and would need more time to maneuver and rearm. First off, what a great mission.Lovely map filled with rolling hills and farm lands.I had to choose carefully where to put my company so the rolling hills didn't give any enemy the advantage of a surprise attack if they assaulted my positions. The transition from night to day was great, especially when firefights broke out and you could see the flashs of gunfire. For a couple fire fights I turned the Icons off and just watched the effects.Very cool and life like at times. The fire fight for the one trench area was good eye candy. I pushed North across the main road and then cut West and jumped from farmland to farmland.Everything was going very well and I took no casualties at this point and managed to move the ammo trucks to safe areas while taking heavy fire, and responding with heavy fire of my own.I kept the company together as much as possible and managed to move and fight my way to the big entrenched hill. Before I got to the hill, enemy forces flanked from the North and I was able to repel them and received 4-5 casualties. The enemy came out of nowhere and the BMP caught some Brits off guard. Got in a few more clashes around the big entrenched hill and recoiless rifles were fired my way causing a few more casualties. As I pushed up the hill with half my company and cleared it out while getting into more firefights, this is where all hell broke lose and I bet you had a smile on your face when you knew what the player was gonna face when they got to that big hill.Seemed like one big trap:D Watching the Brits move up and clear the hill while engaging other enemy from it was very cinematic. Missiles were impacting all around the hill giving it a very impressive pounding. As i tried to get the rest of the Company up the hill, the Syrian armor came flooding on to the map at that exact moment and caught most of the Brits half way up the hill. From here on out it felt more like a WW2 style of fight because of all the bombardment and assaulting taking place. The Brits in the trench's on the hill were getting pounded by missiles from Recoiless rifles, and cannon fire from BMP's and Tanks. The level of fire was insane and very cinematic. It turned into an all out desperate battle and one British platoon was completely over run with Syrian troops, looking to regain the hill.In those moments if the pixel Brits could have threw their rifles and helmets at the enemy he would have out of desperation, they didn't have enough bullets, grenades or a good rate of fire to stop the Syrian flood gates from opening up and over running their positions. Air strikes were called in and artillery was laid down danger close near the city and on the trench's.The whole Company or the survivors who still managed to hold out through out the heavy pounding the hill took, threw smoke grenades and the big hill was covered in all kinds of smoke and dust. What a show! As the armor was hit and moved on, and as the whole area was covered in smoke and dust, trench fighting started to take place. As artillery was falling on the Syrian locations near the trench's and as the two sides fought each other from the trench's, it would make for some very intense moments. It was hard for both sides to hit each other so some firefights lasted a while as bullets would fly through the bush's.Syrian forces would sneak in the trench's and get close to the Brit's and grenades would be thrown and seen bouncing all over the place both ways, claiming multiple victims. The whole mission turned into a defend the hill scenario and I liked it very much. The fight for the hill was like watching a movie. It started out by getting pounded by Rockets and armored vehicles with a lot of intensity to it,leaving the place covered in smoke and dust, then broke out into a real sneaky and gritty battle inside the trench's, where an occasional grenade would be thrown to break the silence and a fierce gun battle broke out after wards. Afreu, it seems like you make some very intense missions that produce some very intense firefights. Its a shame when I take a loss or a man goes down, because I try so hard to preserve them, but the mission is so filled with eye candy, it makes it acceptable and not frustrating. This one mission reminded me of the movie 'Hamburger Hill'. I will try to edit the mission again leaving me with only the D company scouts and B company along with the Para's top command and see if I can push through it.I was successful at defending the hill, but when things settled down on the Hill, I had very few AT and all my ammo trucks were destroyed.Plus it didn't seem like I could rearm any of my MK's, think I deleted their ammo trucks also, another oops.I was going to push on even with the heavy loses, but I thought since I'm going to play it again, i will stop at the hill so I don't know what to expect when I push past it in the next game. Might not be realistic in the way we see things unfold in today's conflict in the middle east, but it sure was entertaining and I think anyone who likes big intense battles should play this mission. Great mission Afreu, even though I edited to reduce my lag.I will definitely try any other ones you post.Sorry for not posting any pics this time around,I should have taken some screen shots. This mission definitely produced some grade A pictures to show the community. The hill full of smoke as it got pounded was very cool to see:cool:.Maybe I'll post a few next time around when playing. Oh, and great briefing by the way.Very well done, but now I learn to read between the lines when it comes to your briefings.A well written brief that makes certain ways seem clear can sucker you into disaster. If I had a C company and did what you said I don't think they would exist anymore.
  13. Third Mission- The Flank Guard Designed by Imperial Grunt Its now 10h20, June 23 Mission, Plan, Commanders Intent-Golf Co(Captain Goldstein) is to patrol a ravine that runs East of TARTUS in order to provide Flank Security for the 2/8 Marines who will clear TARTUS to secure an all-weather SPOD(Sea Point Of Disembarkation).OP’s(Observation Points) have been established along the Southern ridge in the AO(Area of Operation) to provide an early warning trip wire, backstopped by a platoon sized patrols and trucks along the ravine. Enemy incursions are to be decisively engaged and thrown back North. OP’s will be used to identify enemies main effort. Enemy-S2(Battalion Intelligence Officer) Estimates remaining Syrian forces on Coast are low grade units with limited mechanized and armoured support. Friendly26th MEU(SOC)(Lieutenant Colonel Oliver)- Golf Co(Mech)HQ(Captain Goldstein) 2nd Plt/Golf Co(2ndLieutenant Dixon) 3rdPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Callahan) Forward Observer(2nd Lieutenant Russ) Javelin Team(Sgt Galanti) 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway)3xAAV1xHQ Terrain-Generally terrain East of TARTUS is hilly with dense Orchards and Plantations ,few roads two dirt roads travel South to North into a dirt road that travels East to West. There is a steep ravine that runs from TARTUS on the coast into the mountains in the East. Weather-Slightly hazy with a tiny chance of rain, few clouds Temperature-Warm Wind-Medium from West Ground Conditions-Dry Civilian Density-Sparse Start time- 10h20, June 23 Mission begins, time limit 45mins Between Missions-06h06,June 21- 10h20, June 23 The balance of 26th MEU spent the rest of June 21, all of June 22 and the mourning of June 23 to get its forces ashore and is still reconstituting following the landings and clearing of HAMIDIYAH by 2nd Bat/6th Marines. Elements of Golf Co are moving to provide flank cover East of TARTUS as 2nd Bat/8th Marines prepare to move to clear TARTUS to secure an all weather SPOD(Sea Point Of Disembarkation) before the Marines start pushing through the mountains of HIMS. Golf Co have arrived at the AO and set up positions in wait to engage any Syrian forces that come their way. 10h20-10h30 On the mourning of June 23 the skies cleared a bit and the sun now sits on top of 2nd Plt/Golf Co(2ndLieutenant Dixon) and the sunlight flickers between the clouds as the sun continues to rise and gets closer to it’s peak. 2nd Plt/Golf Co(2ndLieutenant Dixon) has set up Op’s on the West and East near the roads and is currently holding a line formation stretching from West to East facing North. The Marines had some shade as well as concealment around the orchard field they were located in and could remain out of sight of the sun and the enemy for the time being. The line from West to East of AO goes as follows, 4thSq/AteamMG/2ndPlt/Golf co(Sgt Freeman) is deployed behind a small wall near a house by the OP across the road on its left(West) side. On the right(East) side of the road is 2ndSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Kramer). Beside them going East is 1stSq/2ndPlt/Golf CO(Sgt Larson). On a hill in the middle is 2nd Plt/Golf Co HQ(2ndLieutenant Dixon) and 5thSq SMAW teams(Corp Hollaway and Lance Corp Forbes) were located on both sides(West and East) of the hill. To the East of 2nd Plt/Golf Co HQ(2ndLieutenant Dixon) is 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) and located by the road on a OP is 4thSq/BteamMG/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Corp Pomerantz). Forward Observer(2nd Lieutenant Russ) holds on top of a hill in the East with a clear view on all of the North. This is the basic movement the Marines would make throughout the mission. Very suddenly 1stSq/2ndPlt/Golf CO(Sgt Larson) picks up an enemy AT-4A ATGM Spigot 500meters away in the North West of AO beside a dirt road and starts to engage as Forward Observer(2nd Lieutenant Russ) requests 60mm Heavy Quick personnel Mortar fire on the ATGM’s location. Simultaneously 2 BTR-60PB APC’s have been spotted moving South 450meters North East in the AO near a house by a dirt road, and are to far for AT weapons, which is said will be limited in this mission. Enemy artillery rounds started to land in front of 4thSq/BteamMG/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Corp Pomerantz)by the road on the East end of AO and they were forced to pack up as quick as they can and run as fast as they could South out of harms way before it really started to rain fire on their location. They would manage to get South safely and their OP location would later be hit hard and covered with smoke and dust and filled with holes. Friendly 60mm has ended its fire mission and neutralized the ATGM position.5thSq/BteamSMAW/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Lance Corp Forbes) was ordered to move forward to see if they could get a shot on the enemy APC’s that are now out of LOS South below the elevated terrain 2nd Plt/Golf Co(2ndLieutenant Dixon) are on. As they moved up Syrian recon Units were seen coming up the hill in the bush’s near 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) position.4thSq/BteamMG/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Corp Pomerantz) then moved near a dirt road to get eyes on the enemies path and 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) quickly split into teams to set up multiple firing angles and waited to engage the Syrian forces as they approached. 2nd Plt/Golf Co HQ(2ndLieutenant Dixon) managed to locate the Syrian spotters and requested 60mm Mortar Fire support to hit and end the enemies artillery spotting capabilities. There’s hardly any hard cover and taking out the Syrian spotters is vital in order to keep from taking casualties. As the Syrian Spotters were being neutralized by 60mm heavy Mortar fire support, The Syrians were pushing hard and in numbers trying to break through the right(East) flank near 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) . An enemy APC was pushing up the hill to the Marines location and 5thSq/BteamSMAW/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Lance Corp Forbes) was able to hit it with AT, but not able to destroy it and it still remained active and opened up on 5thSq/BteamSMAW/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Lance Corp Forbes). They were able to get down and then relocate safely to another position in the area without injury. The Syrian troops are getting shot and are having a hard time trying to advance. They are caught between a Marine MG position on one flank as well as a Marine rifle squad on the other with SMAW support and are well concealed in the bush’s at their locations. More enemy immerge in the North East and 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) is forced to pull back South a bit so they don’t draw in enemy fire while they attempt to repel the enemy that’s already near them. As the firefight raged on with the Syrians trying to close with the Marines, a Soldier(Lance Corporal) from 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) was hit in the leg by an AK bullet and is now laying on the ground severely wounded. At the same time another Soldier(Private) was lightly wounded from a bullet when he was nipped by unknown fire from the far North. More enemy look to be rushing in to reinforce the Syrians trying to get through the right(East) flank and have themselves some APC’s in the North East providing fire support. Forward Observer(2nd Lieutenant Russ)is forced to abandon his position on the high hill in the East due to incoming enemy fire and will move to help 4thSq/BteamMG/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Corp Pomerantz) by the dirt road. The first Syrian wave to close in on the Marines were repelled with bullet rounds and m203 fire and the wounded Soldier(Lance Corporal)was safely patched up by buddy aid and extracted for med evac, but not before Sgt Sabo was lightly wounded himself. It’s possible Sgt Sabo was hit by a ricochet, but he’s able to stay in the fight and lead his squad. The situation at the moment is starting to look unpleasant for the Marines as they discovered the fact that they are going to be in a real hard fight and this could soon get very ugly with enemy looking to close and over run them. Marines repelling the Syrian infantry. 10h30-10h40 2nd Plt/Golf Co HQ(2ndLieutenant Dixon) attempted to call in 60mm Mortar fire support to hit what would seem like a second Syrian Infantry wave heading to the Right(East) flank. It managed to slow and break up the Syrians as they moved, but at this time more Syrians revealed themselves on the right(East) flank and are trying to over run 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) again. The situation is under some control for the moment and it seems as though the Syrian forces are slow to realize they cannot out run the Marines bullets who are very well concealed and coming from the bush‘s. The USS Mason announces that Naval Gunfire is now available for support. Enemy APC’s appear to be making a move to the road on the West end in the AO and 5thSq/AteamSMAW/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Hollaway) is ordered to move near the road to intercept the enemy BTR APC’s if they show up there. The fighting on the right(East) flank has died down and the last Syrian soldier to be shot ran up and hurled a grenade 60meters. The Syrian troop proved to be good at throwing a grenade at great length, but poor in his accuracy because the grenade landed around 15meters behind 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) on a down slope, and the Syrian soldier was gunned down on his attempt. Forward Observer(2nd Lieutenant Russ) has now requested Naval Gun fire support from the USS Mason to hit within a 240meter area, North East around an area where a Syrian Command unit was spotted. Now in the North West, a T-62MV has been spotted and the Marines are now very cautious about exposing their positions, and quickly after, it was confirmed that there were now 3 T-62s in the North West arriving in the AO. Over on the right(East) flank, an enemy BTR APC crept up the road and found itself 80meters from 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) and around 50meters away from Forward Observer(2nd Lieutenant Russ) and 4thSq/BteamMG/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Corp Pomerantz). The enemy APC took two AT hits from 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) and as the turret turned to them, 3 more AT rockets were fired destroying the vehicle and its crew with a loud and thunderous bang. More enemy appear in the North and it looks as though the enemy are getting ready to square off against the middle and left(West) flank of the Marines.1stSq/2ndPlt/Golf CO(Sgt Larson) and 2ndSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Kramer) are now in a firefight with Syrian infantry located far North around 450meters out and due to all the enemy armour, 4thSq/AteamMG/2ndPlt/Golf co(Sgt Freeman)is forced to remain hidden behind a small wall in the West near the OP. If they were to reveal their positions most enemy vehicles would see them and blow their positions sky high. Enemy armour is now moving and the situation is starting to get dangerous as more fighting starts. As the firefight continued 1stSq/2ndPlt/Golf CO(Sgt Larson) took a casualty. A soldier(Private First Class) was hit by AK fire and lays wounded as the tense firefight continues. It was very hard for the Marines to get at the wounded Soldier(Private First Class) to give him buddy aid, because bullets would be impacting all over their area and they could not move out of their personal cover at the time, and also they needed to continue putting as many rounds down range as possible to keep the Syrian forces from getting the rate of fire advantage and to keep them ducking for cover, so Soldier(Private First Class) laid wounded until things simmered down a bit and until reinforcements arrived. The Syrians are now looking to break through on the Left(West) flank near 2ndSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Kramer) and are 175meters away and closing. The battle for the right(East) flank, much dust was kicked up. 10h40-10h51 3rdPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Callahan) have arrived on the West and East road with 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) and 10th, 11th and 12th AAV -7A1(Corp Romaniecki ,Corp Brown and Corp Galanti) vehicles. Golf Co(Mech)HQ(Captain Goldstein) has also showed up on the East road with a Javelin Team(Sgt Galanti). The Marine reinforcements now generate the fire power needed to deal with the armoured threats and the reinforcements start to move into positions to get LOS on the enemy. On the left(West) flank the enemy was trying to over run 2ndSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Kramer) with infantry and an APC closing in, but due to the heroic actions of 2ndSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Kramer) holding their ground, the enemy were stopped in it’s path and repelled. From here reinforcements 3rdPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Callahan) will try and fill the gaps in the line formed by 2nd Plt/Golf Co(2ndLieutenant Dixon) to give Golf Co(Captain Goldstein) more fire power to start closing and counter attacking the Syrian forces. As 3rdPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Callahan) moves to close the gaps in the line, firefights on all locations are erupting and the situation is now become very explosive and Golf Co(Captain Goldstein) in this intense firefight is starting to gain the upper hand and initiative with the extra firepower that arrived. What was once a small skirmish now turns into a fair size battle with armoured vehicles as well as infantry shooting all over. After having to redirect the fire mission Forward Observer(2nd Lieutenant Russ) requested from the USS Mason, it finally now starts firing for effect on the Syrians formation center where the most enemy Infantry are spotted. The Syrians have been losing the firefights and are now getting pounded very heavily by the fire mission as well as MK19 grenade fire from the AAV‘s. The T-62’s still remain a threat, and are the only serious threat in the AO at this time. They moved to the base of the hill before some of the serious fighting occurred, out of any Marines LOS. One was seen trying to get closer to 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) on the right(East) flank., but the Marines remained ready for any threat and are now set up in a line formation able to use maximum firepower, and the AAV‘s are remain by the dirt road as support just behind the infantry. Javelin Team(Sgt Galanti) was then ordered to move to the hill on the East end in the AO so they could get eyes on and engage the T-62’s.The Marines are having a hard time trying to spot the tanks so its suspected the tanks are close and probably getting ready for a final assault on Golf Co(Captain Goldstein). Suddenly a T-62 rushed up on the right(East) flank and managed to get a shot off on 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) vehicle. The Syrian tank scored a Direct hit on the front of the vehicle disabling it completely.3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) was able to get a few MK19 shots off on the tank before abandoning the vehicle and the crew emerged rattled from the blast. 2nd Lieutenant Galaway ended up being lightly wounded himself, but the crew was still intact and gathered their senses and headed for cover as fast they can. The T-62 was 50 meters from the closest Marine Unit and was blown up very quickly by multiple SMAW and AT rockets that were fired at the same time. All this happened simultaneously in a time span of less then 10 seconds. As that T-62 approached, the first AT rocket that was launched missed the T-62 as it moved up and would have probably saved the AAV vehicle if it hit the tank, but in the end the crew survived any way and the T-62 was taken out in a very impressive manner with multiple simultaneous AT shots. Right after without a second to breath, a second T-62 rolled up with a BTR APC with some Syrian infantry in the same area, and Javelin Team(Sgt Galanti) took a shot at one of the enemy vehicles, but missed. Right after though, 2 SMAW teams simultaneously hit the T-62 on each side and a second Javelin missile landed a direct hit on top. It was unclear at first as the enemy infantry were engaged also at this time, but then it was reported that the crew of the tank was likely to be dead inside and the second T-62 was now disabled. While the Marines hit the T-62 and infantry, it gave the AAV vehicle enough time to hit and disable the BTR at the exact same time. Everyone played their part and chose their targets perfectly in that short bust of chaos. It was clear from this point the battle would be won by Golf Co(Captain Goldstein) and the Syrian forces decided to surrender to the Marines. Through out this mission the heaviest fighting was on the right(East) flank at 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) position. The right(East) flank after the fight. 27 Syrian troops surrendered and It was later confirmed that 50 Syrian Soldiers were KIA and 35 were WIA.2 Syrian tanks were destroyed and also 5 Armoured vehicles were destroyed. What remained on the battle field were one immobilized BTR that was about to be blown up and one that was intact as well as one intact T-62. The fate of the enemy vehicles has yet to be decided. For the Marines two Soldiers(Lance Corporal and First Class Private) were WIA, each taking and enduring an AK round to a limb. They were given buddy aid, then safely stabilized and evacuated and will shortly be on their way to hospital. 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) was lucky to have survived their confrontation with the T-62 and only 2nd Lieutenant Galaway was lightly wounded. The AAV they were in might not be repairable, but the mechanics will check it to see what they can do, if it’s to damaged 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway)will eventually get another AAV and continue on with operations. There are also two other walking wounded coming out of this battle. Both are in 3rdSq/2ndPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Sabo) one being Sgt Sabo himself and the other a Soldier(Private).Golf Co(Captain Goldstein) did a great job and the Syrians have been successfully defeated and pushed back North. The North flank is now secure for the 2/8 Marines, and they will not be have to worry about the North Flank as they proceed to clear out TARTUS.
  14. Great footage, thanks for the links. Some very tough fighting going on in Afghanistan.
  15. Unfortunately, not every teacher is a Plato or Socrates. That's what I told one condescending teacher when he said I wasn't exactly a top student.I told him, your no Aristotle yourself. Growing up I saw none of the like that held great minds in my schools.I went through the same old mind numbing routine, that seemed more like a lock down in a prison.Hell I bet if i got thrown in the big slammer, it would be like high school all over again(just more people getting shanked instead of beat up). Some schools are great, but me personally I was in a poor school and the focus was more on trying to get us to be obedient.I can see some teachers trying to get this scheme through in my old high school, but after they threatened to make us all wear uniforms, the whole school walked out and moved like a massive mob down the streets in the city to other schools making life hard for everyone,Cops even had to go with the flow and clear the streets and escort us,so I don't think they would try anything like that again. No matter how ignorant you think the students are being, pissing off a bunch of teenagers and almost sending them to riot in the streets was not a good move or even a smart attempt in trying to imply yet more obedience, especially when your dealing with the majority of students who come from families with middle to lower class income. To be a little fair though, There were some teachers that shined brightly and were very in tune with the students. Most students would get good grades in classrooms when the teacher was more of a mellow kind of fellow and knew how to play and joke around with the class, and not a sit up straight and shut the hell up kind of guy looking to lay his harmer down on someone who coughs. Some teachers had a real leadership gift that earned them the respect of the students and students would often crowd them.A few teachers I remember were so well liked, that if you said something bad about them, the tough guys would even turn around and smack you in the head.
  16. I saw a news report on this a while back when they were introducing it in classrooms.I thought that was messed up then and it was only a matter of time before there was controversy. The school principal got a kick out of it, when witnessing unsuspecting students realizing that he was watching them from another computer every time the students used their web cams in class, and when they were not suppose to.He could see them all at anytime the web cam was on and I thought to myself, this is a bit much, what a stupid idea this is gonna turn out to be. From what I hear people can hack into your web cam and turn it on.Basically anything can be done with computers nowadays. It was reported that some Nations used this hack to spy on others. If your that worried, put a piece of tape or something to cover the camera up.And never, ever hold any secret meetings in front of it,ya never know:)
  17. Snipers I find are very useful. In urban areas when I had them over watching from top floors with no fire command, they would kill enemy quickly that shot at other troops. Now they wouldn't kill the whole squad, but I had many firefights that turned in my favor or that ended with the sniper rifle be heard firing a shot. It's good to use them to cover your troops movements, so they can automatically open up on enemy that engage your troops, but yet remain unaware of the sniper. One other method you could do is attach them to a platoon and move the snipers with the platoon, and maybe place them with the MG teams, forming a squad with the qualities of power and precision. Sometimes though they are a poor shot, kind of like the Javelins in some situations, nothing goes right and they keep missing. Would wind be a strong factor for sniper teams in CMSF?Does the wind affect the ballistics of the pixel troops bullets, and is that coded in the game?
  18. Great pictures and it seemed like a very intense situation.Glad to see you got the cut off troops out of there and back to safety. Looks like those troops who were cut off were putting up a very heroic stand, and it looked as though they even had dead enemy at their feet so that says a lot about what they faced.Good thing the RPG didn't take out the Bradley they were riding in, that would have been a serious moral blow, and those troops deserve the beers, for themselves and their fallen comrades. The compound you were in didn't look to peaceful either.Seemed like a lot of up close and personal firefights broke out and everybody was constantly in danger of being over run. I never played this scenario yet, but eventually I'll get around to it.I've falling victim to a Bradley's friendly fire also.Gotta watch out for those cross fires and firing lanes. Good to see someone post an AAR.
  19. Putin has grown to become a very powerful and influential man.And I'm sure when he says modern weapons, hes talking about weapons that could rival the Western countries hardware, and give them a real hard time. He's looking to even things up a bit so to say.
  20. 2nd Mission-USMC Amphibious Assault into HAMIDIYAH Designed by-Imperial Grunt It's now 05h10,June 21 Mission, Plan, Commanders Intent-3rdPlt/Golf Company(Captain Goldstein) conducts an Amphibious assault across BLZ(Beach Landing Zone) White2 to extend the force beachhead line so heavy equipment can be brought in by LCAC's(Landing Craft Air Cushion) and LCU's(Landing Craft Utility), 3rdPlt/Fox Company(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) will be flown into the North to assault South in the AO(Area of Operation). USS Mason and a section of F-18s along with a Cobra who is escorting Fox Co to insertion will provide support. Additionally MSR Corvette is to be secured for main effort to the East. BLT(Beach Landing Zone) Objectives 2 and 3 must be seized to secure Beachhead line and MEU OBJ Bravo must be seized to secure MSR Corvette. Enemy- Presumably the same 4th and 3rd CD Bn(Coastal Defence Battalion),low grade foot mobile infantry units, limit number of obsolete APCs and static tanks batteries. Artillery and mortars, limited quantities of older generation ATGMs and Reserve Units are forming blocking and ambush positions around HAMIDIYAH as an outer layer of Syrian defence plan. Friendly 26th MEU(SOC)2ndBat/6th Marines(Lieutenant Colonel Oliver) -Golf Co(Mech)HQ(Captain Goldstein) -1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire)3xRifleSquad, 2xMG, 2x Smaw, 1xHQ -2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon) 3xRifleSquad, 2xMG, 2x Smaw, 1xHQ -Attached to Golf Co are Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) and Javelin Team(Corporal Faller) -3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany(2nd Lieutenant Galaway)with 8xAAV -Scout/Sniper Plt(2nd Lieutenant MacDonald)1xSniper squad,1xHQ -1stPltRecon/Bcompany(2ndLieutenant Riley)1xHQ2xReconSquad (Corp Poplowsky is still lightly wounded and the squad is still missing one man Corporal Mowstakis who was shot in the previous mission) Fox Co(Helo) -3rdPlt/Fox Co(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) USS Mason for fire support F-18s and Cobra for Air support Terrain-Relatively flat farmland rising east from the shoreline. HAMIDIYAH is in the South West in the AO(area of operation) and a small dirt road travels North East from the North of HAMIDIYAH with a small waterway along side it, cutting off the North West corner of AO(area of operation) . Weather-Overcast, Hazy but clear, no impact on ground operations. Temperature-Warm Ground Conditions-Very Dry Wind-Light from West Civilian Density-Heavy Start time 05h10,June 21 Mission Begins, Time limit 1 Hour. Between Missions Between the hours of 03h00 and 05h10 a few more fire missions and air strikes were carried out to hit the remaining patrols and suspected enemy locations that were reported by 1st ReconPlt/B company(2ndLieutenant Riley) after the previous mission. A Few buildings were destroyed in HAMIDIYAH and shell holes from USS Mason fire support could be seen scattered around the Mosque area and along the dirt road leading North East, North from HAMIDIYAH. While the enemy were distracted with the Marine air and fire support raining down on them,1stReconPlt/Bcompany(2ndLieutenant Riley) took advantage of this and managed to get into the OPs 101 and 103. 1stReconPlt/Bcompany(2ndLieutenant Riley) was able to radio in many suspected enemy locations afterwards as they held their positions throughout the early morning. They remained hidden and continued to watch and report enemy movements until Golf Co(Captain Goldstein)landed at the beach. The Syrians have been reacting to the early mourning actions and are observed moving in a un coordinated manner . Most of the command teams have been killed and most of their communications and intelligence is compromised, it’s making coordinating efforts on the coast very difficult for the Syrians. At this stage the Syrians seem to be relying on the initiative of their officers to slow the 26th MEU(SOC)BTL2/6 Marines as other forces try to coordinate to set up in blocking and ambush positions. 05h10h-05h20 It still remains dark in the early mourning and the clouds cover the stars. 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) have 2ndSq/Ateam Sniper(Sgt McGonical) attached to their platoon and were tasked with moving and clearing the South end of HAMIDIYAH and securing the MSR Corvette. 2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon) who has Scout/Sniper Plt HQ(2nd Lieutenant MacDonald) and Scout/Sniper Plt/Bteam(Corp Young) attached to them were tasked with securing the North end of HAMIDIYAH along the dirt road leading North East, North from HAMIDIYAH and to also protect 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) Northern flank. For the Platoons, the two MG teams and two SMAW teams in the platoons will merge and act as two separate combined weapons teams(1MG,1SMAW are in the Same tile, same room together), the rifle squads will break into teams and cover each other as they move from West to East through the town HAMIDIYAH in a double line formation. The rifle teams would act as the first line and the MG’s, SMAW and Sniper teams would act as the second line taking up positions on top floors in buildings and provided over watch. Golf Co(Mech)HQ(Captain Goldstein) with Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) and Javelin Team(Corporal Faller) were ordered to hold up in the North West compound in the AO (area of operation)and try to get eyes on the objectives on the East end of the AO to call in support and hit whatever threats they could see with Javelins. From OPs103 and 104, 1st ReconPlt/B Company(2ndLieutenant Riley) would continue to remain in position and recon and report any enemies they identify, except for 1stsq/1stRecPlt(Sgt Hollaway) who would pull back out of his open area at OP101 and attach himself to Golf Co(Mech)HQ(Captain Goldstein) and hold in the same compound under hard cover. It’s expected that Syrian artillery will be used in this hour since they now know about the assault taking place and the Commander wants the Marines to use hard cover and stay away from open areas as best they can, until it‘s clear that the Syrian artillery spotters have been neutralized. 3rd AAVPlt/Bco(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) is ordered to keep the vehicles behind the cover of houses in HAMIDIYAH and they will be used to support 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) and 2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon) advance through HAMIDIYAH. The tactic was for the vehicles to be called forward to hammer any enemy locations in a scoot and shoot manner when needed. 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) however will personally remain with Golf Co(Mech)HQ(Captain Goldstein) in the North West compound in the AO (area of operation).Fire support from the USS Mason was requested to hit an irrigation ditch in the North East of AO soon as the assault began. The Mosque will also be avoided to show the locals that despite the level of violence taking place, the local Culture is well respected and attempts to preserve important sites and prevent collateral damage of civilians is of the utmost importance and an extremely high priority for the 26th MEU(SOC)2ndBat/6th Marines(Lieutenant Colonel Oliver)as they continue their operations. The routes the Platoons took throughout the mission. As Golf Company(Captain Goldstein)started moving into positions, Syrian Artillery started to fall near 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) inside HAMIDIYAH as well as near OPs101 ,103 and 104, and the Golf platoons immediately took cover. If 1stSq/1stRecPlt(Sgt Hollaway) had stayed in the open at OP 101 they would have been killed instantly by the enemies artillery, but luckily they were well out of the kill zone as they pulled back to the North West compound and the Commanders caution proved to be a good decision. A HMG bunker was identified North in the AO by the dirt road leading North East, North from HAMIDIYAH and a static T-55 was identified at BLT OBJ 03. Javelin Team(Corporal Faller) engaged the bunker with 2 javelin missiles and even though they both scored direct hits, some of the bunkers occupants were still alive and the bunker remained active. Because of this, Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan)has now requested Heavy Armour Quick strike fire support from the USS Mason on the HMG bunker. The Syrian artillery has finally ended, lasting about 4 minutes and 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) was now able to continue moving forward through HAMIDIYAH as planned. 60mm and 81mm Mortar fire support has now signalled they are ready and Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan)takes advantage by requesting 81mm quick heavy linear personnel Airbursts on a irrigation ditch that’s suspected of having enemy in it near the bunker.60mm quick heavy linear personnel Airbursts are also requested to hit another irrigation ditch near BLT OBJ 03. Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) would then continue requesting Mortar fire support on other suspected irrigation ditch’s as time went on to make sure no enemy stayed hidden in them. A couple enemy locations were seen in some houses near the dirt road leading North East, North from HAMIDIYAH from Golf Co(Mech)HQ(Captain Goldstein) position. 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany HQ(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) would hit the enemy positions with MK19 area fire from time to time with a shoot and scoot manoeuvre. The Syrians attempted to fire an RPG but came up short and paid the price for their efforts with a face full of MK fire. Javelin Team(Corporal Faller) after rearming with 2 more javelin missiles was able to successfully target and completely destroy the static T-55 with one javelin missile. 05h20-05h30 The fire mission requested on the bunker is now ending and it did not manage to destroy the bunker or its occupants. 3rd Plt/FoxCo/HQ(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) and 1stSq /3rdPlt/Fox Co(Sgt Connor) have been inserted by helo and have now arrived in the North end of the AO, near the dirt road leading into HAMIDIYAH. They found themselves 58meters North of the bunker and due to bad luck of bad timing, Team Leader(Corporal Innella) from 1stSq /3rdPlt/Fox Co(Sgt Connor) was lightly wounded from the last USS Mason fire support round that hit near the bunker. It narrowly missed 3rd Plt/FoxCo(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) area and they were lucky it was an Armour round or more damage could have been done. This could have been a severe and tragic blue on blue friendly fire moment in the opening phases of the invasion and more caution needs to be taken in order to avoid these moments. 3rd Plt/FoxCo(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) managed to move and get behind the HMG bunker to neutralized it by throwing a bunch of grenades at it and afterwards they managed to find cover in the craters caused by the fire support from USS Mason, and used the smoke and dust from the fire support strike to cover their movements. From there they will try to move to an irrigation ditch in an attempt to evade possible Syrian artillery that might have spotted them arriving in the AO. An AH-1W Cobra signalled he is on stand by for air support and Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) starts to request and direct the AH-1W Cobra to hit any targets of opportunity in the South East in the AO around MSR Corvette outside of HAMIDIYAH. Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) will also request 60mm linear smoke rounds in the open fields North East in the AO to help in concealing 3rd Plt/FoxCo(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) movements to their somewhat safer positions as they crawl to a an irrigation ditch. 81mm linear smoke rounds are also requested to land East just outside of HAMIDIYAH to conceal 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) and 2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon) advance to the East end of HAMIDIYAH. The goal is to cut the view of any enemy outside HAMIDIYAH who can support the enemy positions inside HAMIDIYAH with firepower and with the smoke cover, 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) and 2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon) would be able to concentrate on moving and clearing HAMIDIYAH without interference from enemy in the East. The goal was also to be able to move the Golf Platoons in positions on the East end of HAMIDIYAH under smoke cover where they will set up firing positions to be ready to engage whatever is East in the AO in force. This plan went somewhat well, but the smoke would later lift to early and before the Golf Platoons got near the East end of HAMIDIYAH. Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) would also call in fire support form USS Mason as well as 81mm heavy mortar fire to put direct fire on two separate buildings located at the two separate BLT OBJ 03 compounds where there’s suspected to be enemy. Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) will be very busy in this hour as they constantly call in support on the houses outside of HAMIDIYAH to the East. Fox Company looking on as the objectives get hit with support assets. 05h30-05h40 As 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) was moving through the streets of HAMIDIYAH in the South, 1stSq/1stPlt/GolfCo(Sgt Crafts) got engaged with two enemy locations about 70 meters away inside some buildings. The enemy opened up with a burst of AK fire and 1st Sq/1stPlt/GolfCo(Sgt Crafts) responded immediately with a hell of gunfire of their own, completely overwhelming any enemy who dared to take a shot. The Marines accuracy and ferocity from their fire power in the urban setting was unmatched and as the enemy were getting pinned by heavy MG, small arms and grenade fire, the SMAW teams would put a few rockets into the enemies location, further silencing any more firing attempts from the enemy. 1st Sq/1stPlt/GolfCo(Sgt Crafts) would then assault one enemy location while area fire was put on the connecting houses to the rear of the enemy, denying them any retreat. 1st Sq/1stPlt/GolfCo(Sgt Crafts) was split into teams during this firefight and were able to successfully assault and neutralize one enemy position without any problems. They caught the Syrians with their heads down when they rushed into the building and quickly shot them before they could react to the sudden threat. 2ndSq/Ateam Sniper(Sgt McGonical) was also present during this firefight and would take the initiative and move up to assault the second enemy location simultaneously. The Syrians tried to flee out the back way as 2ndSq/Ateam Sniper(Sgt McGonical) would close in on them, but as they fled to the rear and into another connecting house, they ran into more Marine gun fire. One Syrian in a panic, ran out the back door and into the open where he was quickly gunned down and the other Syrian soldiers stayed and took cover in the house. 2ndSq/Ateam Sniper(Sgt McGonical) who was hot on their heals in pursuit behind them, burst through the door right after and before the Syrians had time to react or even understand what was going on, very smoothly, 2ndSq/Ateam Sniper(Sgt McGonical) cleared out the room giving the each Syrian soldier a burst of fire, laying them low to the ground. Upon further review and a quick search, it was identified that one Syrian squad was a Headquarters unit and the other a HQ unit for the Syrian Reserves.1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) has neutralized the threats presented to them and continue to move East in HAMIDIYAH. At this point the rear elements 3rdSq/3rdplt/Fox Co(Sgt Whelchel) along with Javelin team(Sgt Valdez) and 2 SMAW teams(Corp Collins and Lance Corp Amatucci) of 3rd Plt/FoxCo(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) have been inserted by helo and have now arrived near the dirt road North of HAMIDIYAH in the AO. They will attempt to move East into an irrigation ditch using the wheat fields as cover to position themselves North of the Objectives, but some unknown enemy fire held them in place and they could not proceed. The Cobra is now engaging targets at this time along MSR Corvette with its cannon and while the sweep was progressing in HAMIDIYAH by the Golf platoons,1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) ran into more resistance and 3rd Sq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Beall) took a casualty. 3rdSq/Cteam/1stPlt/GolfCo(Corp Hamel) was running from one house to the next to link up with their Squad when a Soldier(Private) was hit and fell to the ground severely wounded by unknown fire from the East in HAMIDIYAH. 9th AAV-7A1(Corp Savage) pulled out from behind a house and drove up to cover the downed Marine while 3rdSq/Cteam/1stPlt/GolfCo(Corp Hamel)halted and gave Buddy Aid and helped evacuate the downed Soldier(Private)from the open area. As they finished applying buddy aid, an RPG was launched from the East in HAMIDIYAH at 9th AAV-7A1(Corp Savage)from 80meters away and the RPG flew over top of the Marines and over the AAV narrowly missing the monstrous vehicle and landed on a house behind them. The Marines in turn identified the threat and launched a SMAW rocket in retaliation and proved who had the bigger and better weaponry in that situation silencing the hostiles for good. The USS Mason now signalled it had another gun ready and available for fire support and Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) would direct fire on a building in the BLT OBJ 02. Enemy around the Objectives are getting pounded and the destruction is starting to show. 05h30-05h40 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) would eventually draw closer the to East end in HAMIDIYAH. 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) covered the area very well in their now one line formation and almost had their East end clear at this point in time ,but they would identify more resistance in the last string of buildings. While 2nd Sq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Bagby)moved and was area firing on one suspected house, a Syrian unit opened fire from another house 50meters away. A Soldier(Lance Corporal) was hit by the AK fire and laid wounded on the second floor at 2ndSq/Cteam/1stPlt/Golf Co(Corp Masconi) position.8th and 9th AAV-7A1 (Corp Fleming and Corp Savage) were present as the vehicles moved up to continue supporting the Marines in HAMIDIYAH, and while both fired back with MK19 fire destroying the houses wall on the floor the enemy were in as well as the enemy, 2ndSq/Cteam/1stPlt/Golf Co(Corp Masconi) was able to patch up the Soldier(Lance Corporal) safely with buddy aid and after some amount of time, Soldier(Lance Corporal) was ready and taken for medevac. Two F/A-18D Hornets have announced they are now ready for air support requests. Forward Observer(Sergeant Moylan) would direct one F/A-18D Hornet to bomb a building in one of the BLT OB 03 compounds(the other BLT OB 03 one house compound is destroyed) and the other F/A-18D Hornet was directed to hit any targets of opportunity in BLT OB 002 on the MRS Corvette.1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) at this point have now completely cleared out their end of enemy in HAMIDIYAH after successfully assaulting two remaining houses with enemy in it. 3rd Sq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Beall) would be the ones who assaulted the enemy positions and In one of the houses it was discovered that there was an enemy MG team with two AT teams and a fierce and quick firefight took place as 3rd Sq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Beall) assaulted their position. A Soldier(Lance Corporal)was injured by a small explosion during the small brief firefight, but was declared healthy and fine and was capable of continuing on with the fight. One of the Syrian RPG teams tried to pull out the back way ,but Marines were in place covering the back and quickly shot them down and 3rd Sq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Beall) would successfully secure the two remaining houses of hostiles. At this point all air support and fire support are concentrated on all the objectives and the objectives are getting hammered very hard. 3rdPlt/Fox Co(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) is now at full strength with the arrival of the two MG teams(Sgt Perry and Corp Prior) along with 2ndSq/3rdPlt/Fox Co(Sgt Croteau). The reinforcements would link with the other Golf squads and move East in an attempt to get at BLT OB 03 from the North. As 4thSq/ MG Bteam/Fox Co(Corp Prior) was running East, Gunner(Lance Corporal) got nicked and wounded by what appeared to be enemy fire from a house close to 300meters away. Gunner(Lance Corporal) quickly bandaged his wound and was fine and continued with the fight. 3rdPlt/Fox Co(2nd Lieutenant Ezra)then began to area fire at the suspected house and the Golf rifle and heavy weapons teams tried to continue moving East in a bounding over watch fashion while shooting at the suspected enemy location. 2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon) who was tasked to guard 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire)North flank and to also clear the North end of HAMIDIYAH of all hostiles has finished his task without any wounds and casualties. The enemy who were discovered by 2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon)as they moved were no match for the fierce firepower as well as the Marine assaults when using combined fire from Mgs,MK19s,Snipers,SMAW and Grenade Launchers. Most enemy fired the opening shots, but that would be all they would fire and they would be shot dead in seconds where they stand due to the swift reaction of 2ndPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant Dixon), who was able to very quickly hit the Syrian forces with every weapon he had simultaneously, completely devastating any enemy positions that were bold enough to present themselves. At this time Golf Co(Captain Goldstein) appears to have cleared all Syrian forces and hostile threats from HAMIDIYAH and are now facing the East end in the AO with full force and clear LOS in one big line. Fox Company moving through the tall grass 05h40-06h06 Now with full support from Golf Co(Captain Goldstein) , 3rdPlt/Fox Co(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) continue to push East in an attempt to attack the objectives from the North. At this point they are tired and exhausted and have been making very slow progress due to random enemy fire holding them up. The objectives are still constantly put under pressure with heavy vehicle fire, plus air support that was continuously called in. The Syrians at this time were taking a thunderous pounding as their remaining positions were getting blown up in all kinds of ways. The Syrian defense was thinning out and being depleted much more quickly now and all that would remain is some Syrian troops scattered amongst the rubble of blown out buildings and would occasionally fire a few shots. 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) would then be ordered to move out of HAMIDIYAH and to cross the fields to the East on both sides of MSR Corvette on foot with AAV vehicle support beside them. They were ordered to move forward in order to secure BLT OBJ 02 on the MSR Corvette. 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) would then get the rest of the AAV’s to move to the East end of HAMIDIYAH and form a line, and they start advancing across the fields to the East. 3rdPlt/Fox Co(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) would continue to get held down by sporadic unknown enemy light fire as they tried to shift and flank on the objectives from the North. They would now have to hold and wait in the fields until 3rd AAVPlt/Bcompany(2nd Lieutenant Galaway) advanced East. As the Marines continued to move forward and mop up the remainder of the scattered enemy they discovered, the Syrians forces decided that they could no longer hold out a defense and found it best to Surrender with 3min and 17 sec left. The 26th MEU(SOC)2nd Bat/6th Marines(Lieutenant Colonel Oliver)has now successfully cleared out HAMIDIYAH and pushed East to secured themselves a beach head. From here heavy equipment can now be brought in by LCAC's(Landing Craft Air Cushion) and LCU's(Landing Craft Utility) onto the secured Beach line in preparation for the missions and main push to HIMS that’s to come. In this hour throughout this mission, it was confirmed that 159 Syrians forces were KIA and 62 were WIA, 40 Syrian troops surrendered 2 tanks along with other civilian type vehicles were destroyed and there are others unaccounted for. For the 26th MEU(SOC), There were 2 WIA casualties from 1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire). A Soldier(Lance Corporal) from 2ndSq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Bagby) was hit by an AK bullet, but survived the wound and is stable on route to a hospital. A Soldier(Private) from 3rd Sq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Beall) was also later determined that he was hit by an AK bullet, but has also survived his wounds and is also in stable condition and on his way to hospital.1stPlt/Golf Co(2nd Lieutenant McIntire) also has a walking wounded, a Soldier (Lance Corporal) in 3rd Sq/1stPlt/Golf Co(Sgt Beall) was hit by shrapnel from an explosion, but is fine and cleared by the medics. Also 2ndSq/3rdPlt/Fox Co(Sgt Croteau) has a Soldier(Lance Corporal)who is a walking wounded and C Team Leader(Corporal Innella) is also a walking wounded giving 3rdPlt/Fox Co(2nd Lieutenant Ezra) 2 walking wounded troops who were patched up, cleared by the medics, and can continue on with the operation. There were no fatalities in the clearing of HAMIDIYAH in the opening phases of the Amphibious assault and the Marines can be proud of what they accomplished, and for the quick action of applying buddy aid to the fellow Marines who were hit and went down. Now the preparation for a main thrust along MSR Corvette towards the HIMS gap and eventually to HIMS itself, can now proceed on schedule.
  21. I have a golden rule for these kinds of things. Blow it up. I also do what Lanzfeld suggested.Instead of assaulting it, keep it under siege and move on. Find some form of LOS on to that building from outside and shoot it.Like Elmar Bijlsma wrote, Suppression, suppression, suppression. But in a tactical way for assaulting the compound, I think you might need to chip away at some other threats before you finish this one.If enemy AT soldiers are around and outside the compound blocking you from being able to use your vehicles, find them and destroy them or chase them away from getting LOS on any vehicles you can bring to the compound to help finish it off. Another method you could do if the enemy are few and wounded, is to completely overwhelm the remaining enemy troops with many troops of your own.Storm the place like a massive flood with guns blazing and attack with a force that gives you 10-1 odds(10 allied troops attacks 1 enemy) and overrun the enemy. A few allied troops might get shot, but the enemy will quickly be put down in the firestorm, if they are few and wounded.Sending small forces into the situation bit by bit will only aggravate the situation further. Try to be as creative as possible, Always make sure you have some kind of capability like and air strike or artillery or heavy vehicle weapons fire available for these kinds of jams.Keep it as a golden rule.
  22. Kind of like the story about the race between the Tortoise and the Hare.... and we all know how that story turns out:D Mr. Berlusconi really takes the saying 'when in Rome' to heart. He reminds me of a Mob Boss more then a world leader.
  23. Goodwood, your title says it all! This game is amazing!
  24. If lived in Europe, I would have gotten straight A's in English class when I was a kid if that Euro-English was ever adopted, but the teachers shunned me and gave me C's instead and told me I was slow! To bad they never figured out that I was a genius and ahead of my time.
