Come on guys, this ain't hard - I'll say it again - CMSF 2 is CMSF 1 in the Engine 4 environment. While there will be tweaks in the original campaigns eg Mission 2 of the Canadian Campaign has a river and a bridge mocked up via road tiles, elevation changes and marsh tiles. These will almost certainly be replaced by a proper bridge and river tiles in CMSF 2. In all likelihood, all of the AI plans will get a revamp with triggers rather than the old school scenario designer guesstimates for AI plans which will mean that scenarios and campaigns will probably play out slightly differently. However, in essence, they will be largely be the same as CMSF 1.
Asking the same questions over and over again in this and different forums ain't going to change the answer and it seems pretty pointless people banging on about having bones thrown if they don't actually read them.

And none of this is happening as per my post in the other thread. Put simply, CMSF 2 is CMSF upgraded to the Version 4 engine and there is absolutely no appetite on Battlefront's part to make it anything other than that.

It was a pleasure helping such a master craftsman - although even my wife did say 'bloody hell' when I told her the scale of the mission briefing part of the task.  Compared to that, the casualty trackers were a doddle.

Terrain does compensate for roads when you are laying them on different elevations but to be honest I have never seen ditches added automatically. If you really need ditches you are better off making them using the elevation tool and ditch lock feature.

@akd - I'd forgotten about the extra equipment/quality layer in the newer titles - you are right and I understand the thrust of @SLIM's post now.

Judging by a lot of the questions that pop up here - you've done more than many people who already own the game and have set yourself up for success. I wish you many years of happy gaming.

It doesn't matter what your interest is in the fictional storyline - it doesn't flick my switch much either as you also know. The fact is that Steve has stated repeatedly that CMSF is a fictional Syrian conflict set in 2008 and there is and never has been any appetite on Battlefront's part to morph it into an Iraq, Afghanistan or any other game. If we campaign and scenario designers want to do that then fine but I say again that you are urinating in the wind if you think that Battlefront are going to add stuff to CMSF 2 to turn it into anything other than a fictional Syrian Conflict set in 2008 upgraded to the current game engine.

Not that I think it matters but worth asking ... what is the Command relationship of the Stug to the Infantry Battalion - eg was it a single vehicle pick attached to the Inf Bn HQ or something different? I note from the image that it belongs to 2 Bty/Pzjg Bn which suggests that you've bought a battery of them and it is probably not part of the Inf Bn.

Well you guys are free to post what you like but I'll make two comments. 1) This is the CM2 forum so CM2 content would be appropriate. 2) Frankly I much prefer that images and video get added to the screen shot threads for the matching game.

Not all designers use them - IanL's ability to post such trees are based on the designer:
    A. Having a campaign tree. B. Willing to share it. C. Contacting IanL. D. IanL uploading it onto his site. While it is entirely your opinion to have this knowledge, a lot of people derive pleasure from campaigns because of the absence of such knowledge. After all the essence of war is friction - knowing the campaign tree largely eliminates that friction which begs the question .... well what is the point of playing the campaign?
So it really is a horses for courses situation - like everything choice is fine so those that want to find out can find out but to assume that campaign designers are going to create and then fire out campaign trees is perhaps being somewhat optimistic.
Just an observation btw but those fondly (by some) remembered CMX1 operations didn't have campaign trees ...

And ... as most of these threads end up saying - if none of that works, open a support ticket with Battlefront.

As it happens I am a Beta tester and you did not say that you had opened a ticket so I think it was a fair comment. Anyway, whatever, I hope you get it fixed.
