  2. i just learned about google custom maps where you can paint locations on google maps and put links in the description. so if someone sets up a public custom map where anyone can collaborate we could improve map sharing
  3. i think this would be not a good idea. there is only so much interest in the pto mod so splitting it up in pto terrain submods would not make sense. i am looking forward to your makin map. regarding my angaur map i will release it after the next patch
  4. long time not read - how is the vierville map doing the version you sent me was excellent
  5. i removed the horizon as well - unfortunately i could not get the world box below the map right because the color of the water changes with light conditions. i have another suggestion for the foliage: imo the color of the eucalyptus tree should be more greenish to blend better with the other trees. maybe you could include my railway tracks without rail-bed to your pto terrain mod.

  7. i always prefered the look of cc5 maps over cmbn. i loved to play a h2h campaign of the gjs mod against my brother. we played maybe three years on one single campaign and we never finished it. i hope there will be the day where cmbn gets an ingame meta campaign
  8. in a recent pbem i had this situation where a squadmember runs away from the squad
  9. i had a similar problem where a single at gun crewman runs away
  10. found a workaround for my problem had to place a single tile waypoint in the water then the ai group will stay where they are and face this direction
  11. great jungle vegetation - especially the banana leave maybe you could also ad some fern @coondog the 76mm at gun should be no problem because the japanese did not have something like this as far as wikipedia knows (afawk)
  12. thank you - i am looking forward to this mod i do not think i will redo angaur in 1:1 - i have to finish this map before summer because i wont have much time in summer. instead of a 1:1 angaur i was thinking of a "little iwo jima"
  13. i just experienced this problem myself. but with the difference that i do not use any waypoints for tha ai group but just change their stance with each order. when they change their stance the first time they change their facing to SW regardless of the friendly direction. after the first change they stay this way i would consider this as bug and hope there will be a fix!
  14. please do not replace tree c it is the only one suitable for swampy areas. + i would have to redo my angaur map. i would prefer tree b to be replaced with palm trees. in my opinion one type of pine is enough
  15. i tested your suggestion but unfortunately it did not work. if you set up a blue on blue qb the attacker is always allied and the defender axis. this would not matter if all icons are different for all nations - but there are some icons like fo command and sniper that are shared between all red and blue forces. so i could rename the icons to blue but this would mean that you have to manually switch icon mods.
  16. ok my angaur map is ready for testing. there is no briefing and there are no flavour objects yet. if you are interested i will send you the dropbox link via pm. the zip file contains the map and a small modpack with a background jungle sound, a new texture for a building and railway tracks without a bed. plus an alpha channel skybox the mission is one reinforced ija battalion vs 2 battalions of the 81st wildcats. so it is pretty huge. in my opinion the best part of the mission are the first 20 minutes. 10 minutes of naval artillery bombardement and then 10 minutes of airstrikes
  17. yes i did a test and ran over yellow antitank mines with a Sherman several times and they did not explode maybe i should test more often
  18. it is a hard decision here are my pros and cons for the germans: german would have panzerfausts mg34 (luftwaffe pioneer) has 50 rounds instead of 30 rounds of the type 96 rof is almost twice as high germans only splitable into two sections (bad for defense) no knee mortars more smgs than cw forces for example sniper and breach team pro: german infantry gun smaller calibre at guns if you go for the germans than i would suggest to use luftwaffe pioneers. They have only one mg34 and mp40 per squad. and not that many panzerfausts
  19. i really like what you show us but if you switch them to the germans you would loose the knee mortar plus the ability to split the squad up into three teams. and you would end up with a lot of submachine guns and mgs. maybe you could use the german skeleton for the british or canadian forces
  20. @coondog i just found out that you can swap the uk-infantry-soldier model with the airborne one. are you done with the ija for now or would it be possible to adjust your textures to the airborne model. and one more thing i was thinking about was that we should use the canadian slot instead of the uk one because then it would be possible to recreate the burma campaign
  21. i made a test some days ago to find out how successful engineers and breach teams are in detecting mines. and they are quite successful if you give them a hunt or slow command. furthermore marked minefields (yellow) could be passed with tanks without setting of the mines
  22. just posted the first version of the imperial japanese army supplement mod in the repository. if you cannot wait here is the dropbox link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/66690360/Imperial%20Japanese%20Army%20Mod%20supplement.zip i will remove the old files from my dropbox. the mod includes: names ranks icons a portrait and soldier sounds the soundmod got an update - it is louder now and you will hear banzai more often. so anyone who downloaded the first version feel free to upgrade the portrait is inspired by mords portrait mods
