  1. I felt like i had my face glued to the battlefield, couldn't zoom out far enough. There may be a lot of detail but when the games in full flow there's no chance of appreciating it and it turns into a clickfest. No go for me. Also had trouble getting Anti-Aliasing to work so it looked ugly.
  2. Indeed I drove up the side of the mountain and suffered minimal casualties, however one of my Lavs had wheel damage from the previous battle, you don't want to know how long it took to climb to the crest
  3. I was under the impression these had been fixed, however every battle i play i end up the sides being switched and i fight the AI for control of my men while the opposite force does nothing, will this be fixed in 1.2?
  4. Steve, thanks for taking the time to post it's clear you take the issue of fow seriously and what you are sugggesting for foxholes sounds reasonable. One thing has ocurred to me on the trench/lid side of things. We are expecting bridges and water to be implemented and having thought about it bridges that can be passed under would seem to me to be a kind of lid, could this possibly be extrapolated(sp?) into some kind of trench covering?
  5. That's a limit of the new AI unfortunatley... It only follows the plan otherise it sits there, limited to It's TacAI.
  6. Well the solution there is to have generic icons for spotted enemy units, I for one think vinnart suggestions are great. This game seriously needs further player aids and feedback to bring it back to cmx1 levels ( not that I'm saying the improvments up to now haven't been good) but as it stands there's far too much going on under the hood that isn't explained or made obvious what is going on. I suspect at this point however there will be no serious changes untill cm2 Normandy as this product is nearing the end of it's cycle... Here's waiting to see what the Brit module brings.
  7. I had just had a javalin circle a bmp three times like an angry bumble bee, and no it didn't hit
  8. Point noted regard's BF's response, the way you are suggesting is far more complex imo and is just the same way of doing what I had suggested. I alos don't belive there are enough blank spaces in the orders box to achevive this way of doing things. (To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the UI as it is undergoes a substantial update for CM: Normandy) But hey these are the guys that gave us back the blue bar so anythings possible!
  9. I have to agree with the comments so far, this is an excellent scenario. Good work!!
  10. A better solution would be to have a check box against each weapon system that was cleared to fire. These could be set per vehicle and as a global setting to simulate SOP/ROE.
  11. This is a lot of fun, maps are beautiful. However downloader beware there is alot of danger in these maps! when I looked round the map after suffering a hefty defeat on the first mssion my jaw dropped In addition I would say the biggest problem you face are the ditches of infernal bogging.
  12. No need to be horrified I have one very happy puppy who is in no danger of being skinned. The name relate more to a certain industrial band. (one without any kind of political agenda I might add) Thanks again for the time and effort you have put into this.
  13. First off this app is fantastic! Your time and effort is much appreciated. One suggestion, in the manage mods box would it be possible to sort alphabetically by the columns by clicking the column header for each field? As it is, it's sorted by the filename, it would be nice however to sort by the other fields so for example all installed mods could be listed at the top. Active mods could also be shown in a different colour font, so it is more obvious that they are installed. Thanks again!
  14. Not sure if he's juggling it or using it as a Yo-Yo... Noticed this today whilst reviewing the map after playing the USMC mission Blues for Allah
  15. Same happened to me in the first mission, I'm certain it denotes intact bunker but crew dead or bunker unoccupied
  16. Thank you Battlefront! An awesome Christmas present
  17. Well maybe not combat mission, but any kind of wargame. There is nothing available right now (save a very ropey napoleonics wargame) so this is an open Market. With BF's expertise and attention to detail I'm sure they could put somthing excellent together, not even 3d necessarily. Looking at the quality of games/application released recently this could be a very viable platform. Here's hoping, what do you think?
  18. Looking through the exciting list of kit for the British module, I notice you are still listing the L86A2 as the Light Support Weapon (LSW), as it was found to be totaly unsuited to this role it's now in use as the squads Designated Marksmans Rifle (DMR).
  19. No but optics have certainly improved since WW2 and personnel now carry night vision. I would expect an improvement in detection of threats from this alone. You may argue the Mk 1 eyeball is the same as ever, but I would expect training in modern forces to use this more effectively (I may be wrong here). Armies in WW2 were generally conscripted civilians; modern forces are in the main dedicated professionals.
  20. i'd call bulk mailing (one mail per file) for every file downloaded (over the past week?) in one go spam, one mail asking for every file would be preferable
  21. i'm getting similar problems with IE7 when trying to download one of the files that is a .pdf, also any way to disable the email spam clammering for file reviews?
  22. I don't think backwards compatibility has ever been a problem
  23. Not to worry, I'll continue waiting patiently
  24. Just downloaded this and noticed it requires patch 1.11, is this a sign of imminent release, or cruel teasing on your part Moon?
  25. A quick question, theoreticaly what will the British have in the way of air support?
