  1. Doubtful, since the download or file wasn't corrupted--I just made a mistake. Must have been when I was making the last few changes advocated by the testers, and somehow the AT gun plt got repositioned without my knowledge.
  2. Whenever it finishes getting uploaded. It's done, and I submitted it to the Repository, it's just not up yet.
  3. Nah, don't start over. Just finish the battle, save the game, and load the save into the new campaign version. (You know how to do that, right? If not, check the manual.) The issue shouldn't affect other missions. If it had, I think I would have heard about it by now!
  4. Regarding the placement issue, I at first thought that your download must have been corrupted, or there was some weird error, or something, but then I loaded up the game myself and was mortified to discover that my painstakingly placed enemy units had teleported to entirely different locations! A new version fixing these issues has just been submitted to the Repository. Hopefully it'll be up soon.
  5. Yeah, I've had recommendations both ways. A lot of people like the 5.45mm AKs, others say that the 7.62x39 gives such a different experience from 5.56 that it's worth trying out on its own. Personally, I'm leaning 5.45 myself, but at this point the actual prospects of getting an AK are probably still months if not years away, so it's mostly a thought experiment at this point.
  6. Very nice. I've been lusting after an AK for the past couple of weeks actually, but unfortunately have little to zero disposable income at the moment.
  7. Haha, that's pretty funny to me actually. I think you and I are of the same mind regarding recon, but those vehicles were actually put in due to specific requests from my beta testers. So no, they're not a trap. The trucks and stuff are in all of the missions for ammunition resupply. I actually substantially reduced the original number of trucks that actually comes with the TO&E because it was even more cluttered!
  8. They get more encumbered, which causes them to get fatigued more quickly, IIRC. It may also decrease movement rate in addition to the fatigue, but I'm not sure about that.
  9. I'm making a campaign for the mod. Won't be done for a LONG time though, I think. When it gets close to done I'll let you guys know.
  10. Don't worry, I'm certainly not changing this campaign. I just thought it was an interesting idea to consider for future campaigns.
  11. I haven't deliberately done this, but I try to make the opening missions of my campaigns easier than most of the others to let the player get a feel for their forces. I might consider doing something like this in the future.
  12. RAM or VRAM? He's talking about VRAM, I respectfully doubt very much that your video card has 6 GB VRAM . . . For reference, my machine has I think 4 GB RAM and 1 GB VRAM. I haven't heard of a video card with higher than 2 GB VRAM.
  13. Check the bottom-left corner of the screen. You will see a list of each unit's parent formations, and there will be a colored circle next to each one. If the circle is green, they have contact, if red, they have no contact. I'd refer you to the manual here for specifics; there are also a number of indicators that show how each unit is staying in contact. Depends. You'd have to be more specific. Are you charging Panthers and Tigers frontally with Shermans? Historically, that did not work out very well for the Allies either. I think we've almost heard more complaints that the Germans are underpowered compared to how people expect them to behave historically, particularly the Panzer IV. EDIT: I see sburke has also noticed these debates! It's important to recognize that historically, Panthers and Tigers were just plain better tanks than Shermans in 1-on-1 situations (better armor, especially in the front, bigger gun, arguably better optics, etc.). Now, the big cats had plenty of disadvantages that outweighed these advantages at times, especially in the strategic picture, but on a CM level, if you encounter these bad boys you need to treat them with respect.
  14. 1) You are correct, there is no random map generator. With the increased complexity and fidelity of the terrain in the CMx2 engine, random maps would turn out really weird. 2) Yes, you can. I've never done it though. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can chime in here? 3) They're there because XOs were there on the field, and because if the CO team bites it, the XO team will take over. How you use them up until the CO bites it is up for debate.
  15. As long as you resume from a save you made between missions and not one that you made during a mission, you'll be fine.
  16. Heh, I wish I even had the time to do that. Getting a job+going to a tough graduate school, while useful in the long run, does not leave one with a lot of spare time.
