  1. Just FYI, I've gotten some PMs and I haven't been able to get to them all yet. You should all have an email by tomorrow.
  2. I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I always put ALL core units for all battles into a separate battle that never gets fought, and use that battle to "Make Campaign." It's another way of doing it that I think works rather well. Just FYI, I have no idea whether this answers your question or not.
  3. Please PM me with your email address if interested! The campaign is centered on the 116. Panzerdivision in the Mortain counterattack. It's somewhat historically accurate, but I definitely changed things up to make the campaign more fun. You command a unit that is roughly the size of a depleted battalion. The campaign has one mission in which you get to make a command decision, and six or seven battles total, depending on branching. Sorry for the lack of detail here; I'm a bit rushed ATM. (If you want more details, check out the Devils' Descent threads, as I dropped more information about the campaign there.) Again, please PM me with your email address if interested.
  4. Essentially, the way that campaign creation works is that you edit all of the battles individually and then compile them all into a campaign when they're all finished. That's why you can't edit a campaign unless you don't have the individual mission files yourself.
  5. BTW, the soldier doesn't ditch his carbine when he picks up the Javelin, so the only downside to carrying the CLU and missiles is that it slows him down and fatigues him.
  6. What is all this nonsense about .22 carbines? The M1 carbine was in .30, the round was just shorter than the .30 rounds used by Garands.
  7. IMO, not really. (Obviously, we disagree here, but I've never had an issue with it, FWIW. ) Basically, unless you need to deploy it, it can be fired in a building, as far as I know. I can't think of an exception to that rule. All RPGs, M136s, LAWs, British versions of those two, Javelins, machine guns, and Panzerfausts can be fired in buildings. The only ones I'm not sure about are the Gill and the SRAAW(H) (which I haven't used enough for it to have been a problem ). Weapons that need to be deployed that can't be fired in a building won't let you deploy in a building, so that solves that problem!
  8. The majority of US forces are in SME, just beyond that position held by the measly 25 men. They're defending in greater strength from different directions. Up to you. IMO you took the most interesting, although arguably the hardest, path. I probably wouldn't redo the first choice, but I might change the answer for the second choice. I won't post what changes, but the changes ARE significant for the second choice. If you really want me to spoil the holy heck out of it, I would be glad to tell you what changes, but you might want to just try and see. Let me know! -FMB
  9. I believe so. You won't need to deal with licenses though; just don't unlicense when you uninstall since you'll be installing on the same machine. Maybe Schrullenhaft can provide more insight.
  10. I think any weapon except for Red ATGMs and either side's AGLs can be fired indoors.
  11. Erwin, that should still be six battles. Either you're confused or there's something wrong with your campaign D/L. I am also calling the battle with the bridge and the StuGs "Ambush." The 25 guys or so in the last mission ARE the guys you're linking up with--your core force actually arrives several minutes into the mission from the opposite map end to help them defend from the overwhelming enemy attack by hitting them in the rear. I thought that was explained in the briefing; was that not clear? Please let me know, as that sounds like a serious problem.
  12. Are you sure your ATGs were deployed? In all of my playtests they were extremely effective. There should be six: 1. Securing LZ 2. Town Assault 3. River Assault 4. Town Defense (given the choice you made) 5. Ambush 6. Link up with other paras near SME
  13. Huh. Well, shows you how much of an RT player I am!
  14. Your guess is correct. If you read the designer's notes in the campaign briefing, you'll see that because the paras are expected to take such heavy casualties, casualties are not a factor in determining victory levels. The final interlude battle existed purely for the storyline to provide a conclusion; there was nothing after that. SPOILERS: I assume you're talking about in the ambush mission? (If you're talking about the town defense mission, let me know, as I found a crazy good spot to put them that's almost so good as to break the mission on my fifth or sixth playtest! ) In the ambush mission, I find that they're best placed along the bocage such that they have side shots at any German vehicles that approach. I also found it worthwhile to more fully discipline my ambush and give them more restricted cover arcs so that they only opened fire at a good angle. Where did you deploy your ambush teams? In my playtests I've found that keeping the squads together works perfectly fine, but perhaps I deployed them further back than you did.
  15. Hi Erwin, For all heavy weapons it says what their deployment and packing up time is under the silhouette of the gun. For the 57mm I think it is 2-4 mins.
  16. Saves made in 1.31 won't work, but there's no reasons the scens shouldn't.
  17. According to Antony Beevor's D-Day: The Battle for Normandy, the 116th attacked in the direction of Chérencé-le-Roussel, but (historically) was beaten off by 1/39 Infantry and 746th Tk Btn. The attack (historically, again) was not carried out with great commitment by the German commander, unlike the 2nd Panzer's on the 116th's southern flank, but my campaign presumes differently. (It also presumes that the 116th delayed its advance to 0500 to coordinate its actions with 2nd Panzer. Primarily, this was done to avoid another German night campaign, but IMO it also makes at least some sense ).
  18. You can, but it has to be specifically designed for H2H compatibility. C&F was always intended to be played as Allies only.
  19. Thanks for posting this; it gave me an idea to improve my next campaign! It will be bigger, but hopefully you'll still enjoy it. In any event, I will be returning to this scale campaign soon.
  20. Heh, thank you, and there will be more! My next couple of projects will probably be larger-scale and combined arms, so you may not enjoy them as much, but I will return to the Devils' adventures, rest assured.
  21. I'm also developing a German campaign about the 116. Panzerdivision in the Mortain counterattack. Everything is finished pending the results of testing.
  22. What difficulty level were you playing on? If it was "Basic Training" IIRC you don't get the question marks since you have better information.
  23. Could be smoke grenades; IIRC they don't use different models from regular hand grenades, although I might be wrong.
