  1. My point is that this is a "game" and people should "enjoy" playing it. The "Unpausable Real Time" just takes away the fun factor for some players like me who doesn't want a "click fest". My two cents. Of course there are people who value the RT aspect to the truest sense and I respect their preference. So play the game without pausing.

  4. Here we go with realism debate again... If you are a commander in real life, you give an order to your platoon leader, and the platoon leader commands the squad leaders instead. In CMSF, you give commands directly to each squad leader to the point of micromanaging because the AI can't handle thing themselves (which is not realistic). They should have SOPs which they can perform well even without baby sitting. CMSF is not realistic in the first place (even withouth the pause feature).

  7. I actually like the pause feature and makes playing the game more comfortable even on elite as opposed to a really tense and stressful experience. It makes coordinating better.

  10. I'd plan to copy all single missions to the QB folder. Will that be sufficient? Or should I fiddle with them using the editor first?
  11. Yup. My game got stuck at 55% during the loading phase.
  12. I noticed that the take cover action makes the vehicle crew dismount. I did not notice this before 1.02. Can anyone confirm this?
  13. Well BF did not say anything about fixing these in the current patch. You should get angry when they say it's fixed but it is still not. Re: "Units still not following orders once in awhile" It is written in the manual that units do these so it's a design feature.

  16. Combat Mission, no matter if it is WEGO or RT is not realistic because in real life, you can't play several roles at the same time. You cannot be the Task Force Commander + Tank Driver + Squad Leader at the same time. If you want to deal with strategy and be a Task Force Commander, you will holed up in a bunker looking at maps and waiting for SITREPS. You will not see the battle taking place in the front first hand. So play POA2 instead for a realistic commander experience. If you want to drive vehicles, the most realistic experience is playing a tank sim like Steal Beasts. If you want to be a squad leader and be in the front lines, play Full Spectrum Warrior or any other 1st person shooter. Combat Mission (even the CMx1) puts you in all these perspectives and it will never be realistic that way. So there's no point in arguing realism to the most minute detail.
  17. please see the tactics forum http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=52;t=002080;p=1#000000
  18. They are working hard on fixing the problems and we already had one patch released and another one coming in the span of two weeks. But with regards to whines about changes in game design, these cannot be patched and you should not expect any resolution in this. One must learn to appreciate and accept this stuff. I suggest playing the demo and see if the design change suits you or not.
  19. To avoid the "destroy-the-building-and-anything-inside-to-win" tactic. The designer can make the building a protect objective for the attacker.
  20. I've played potential road-kill situations without killing my men. You think it is really modeled?
  21. Lesson: House-to-house is deadly! Don't rush and do things slowly. Finished the game with only 8 minutes left in the clock. But not because I stepped on the final objective but because the enemy surrendered. [ August 07, 2007, 10:32 PM: Message edited by: jomni ]
