  1. They are blind... quality war-games aren't interesting for them anymore. Home of superior war and strategic games... is now a bad sentence in his main web page, until they return to the path of true "superior war-games". CM:SF drawn too much of Battlefront, to the path of almost arcadish realtime click festivals.
  2. To reply to your question... i will keep in CMx1 for sure, if you stick with the real time design... WEGO is a joke in CM:SF.
  3. As owner of CM:SF, i can say that this game is now dead for me... (unistalled). I've returned to the CMBB and CMAK at full time. They are much better.
  4. If CM:SF was the first... I do not pre-ordered it... and after download the demo and play it, i surely never order CM:SF, i just bypass the game... I'm absolutely certain about that.
  5. But with WEGO, you have to wait on very long 60 sec. if something unplanned happen. With RT, you pause the game immediately and adapt right away to the new situation. With RT, you chose the turn length. </font>
  6. I play WEGO, but i hate what they did with the current implementation of WEGO in CMx2 engine.
  7. Yes!... i'm all for it. Great Idea!. CM1 is better than CM2 for me, so I will be more interested in a CM:Gold edition of the CMx1 engine, much more than any future release of WWII based on the CMx2 engine. Consider the amount of graphical modeling needed to implement troops of Finland, Romanian army, or the diversity of troops and weapons... CMx2 engine will never be a match for the great amount of units that CMx1 has... because his graphical simplicity it's a much better tactical wargame. CMx2 engine sucks for his graphical detail... too much detail to get a true complete set for WWII battles between any country involved. [ August 20, 2007, 02:59 PM: Message edited by: Cid250 ]
  8. Don't be so sure Rollstoy... wait for August 2008. The famous CMBB and CMAK are responsible of at least half of the preorders. CMSF will start to make money by himself about September 2007... count a year from now, and come back to check what happened.
  9. Serious Reviews (in-deep), are discarded by Battlefront. They are blind enough already. In one year from now, they will have the information about his game that can't be ignored: sells. They will patch a lot... but it will not change the fact that their core design is centered on RealTime, discarding the fantastic WEGO refinement of the earlier versions and the advantages of this gameplay method for TacAI. Don't expect many players of the real-time "branch" to come here at CMSF... because this game sucks at real time due to the complexity of the game (real-time gamers hate complexity). This game can not appeal to them... there are much better options for Real Time in the market... CMSF will be a looser. In 2008 they will see how wrong they are about his new design path. Let's the dollars talk. The preorders were a success of the earlier CMBB and CMAK, but we have past that... and the following wear will give a measure to battlefront in "sells", of how good is considered his new game. 10. Poor you!... they doesn't seem interested in any work on WEGO. Lots of post about WEGO, and still no official reply. They try to force the Realtime gameplay style... which it's really bad, but they are doing it already. You miss the blue bar... and that masterpiece is "ignored" in CMSF because they discarded WEGO and placed a fake feature based on realtime paused automatically each 60 seconds. There isn't true WEGO in this game anymore, sorry!.
  11. You doesn't need to use infantry... you can win the entire campaign almost with vehicles alone. Infantry has now the same paper than in any other RTS out there... nothing important. CMSF is just another RTS now, one more of the hundreds that each year hits the shelves. You even doesn't need quality tactics to win the entire campaign in "elite" setup. Home of superior war and strategic games?... Not anymore, sadly. Even without campaigns, CMBB & CMAK are superb products, while CMSF lacks of milestone features.
  12. I've studied advanced AI algorithms in the university... and the "time" matters. The more time that you have of exclusive CPU, the better that your AI will perform. Believe me... no RTS in the history of videogames, had a good AI. Every AI algorithm that you run over the constrictions of real time, sucks... The human brain is more powerfull than any computer AI on real time over any game with complex rules... some games balanced the stupid real time AI solutions, by adding some "un fair" rules.. like speed up their units, to place the problem on the "computer-mouse-interface-skills". Other games, just make their AI "un fair" by doing all your units visible removing fog of war for the computer CPU. But even with those unfair tricks, the real time AI is way stupid than the most stupid of the humans... In real time you can build a good AI if you expect to face laboratory trained monkeys... but humans with some kind of wargaming skills, will be bored as i am now after finishing the campaign. An AI with a dedicated CPU time of 5 to 7 minutes, may be can perform as an idiotic player. But our current real time AI constricted to 1 minute of Real Time is sub-idiotic.
  13. WEGO isn't broken... WEGO just doesn't exist at all in CMSF. We have a fake WEGO that is implemented over Real Time. To consider this game as WEGO, they need to spend another year of development to change lots of things in the core of the game engine. They should start by "yesterday"... since No WEGO = No Wargame at all, due to an RTS AI that will suck for ever (No RTS had a good AI at all in the history of the videogames).
  14. WEGO should have a mandatory exclusive CPU time... I agree... We don't have WEGO at all in CMSF. Everything should be calculated under the realm of a progress bar... without time cuts!. Who cares if the progress bar takes 7 minutes or even 10 minutes in a PBEM game?. [ August 02, 2007, 01:21 PM: Message edited by: Cid250 ]
  15. A true WEGO... that's my request. Since WEGO it's a milestone of a good tactical game, and no TAC-AI can make good results when your WEGO design is based on RealTime limits... your CPU is shared in real time with graphics and a lot of other things... so the AI algorithms are degraded a lot in real time. Our current WEGO it's just a fake... they just turned their RealTime engine with some soft tricks in a vanilla WEGO that sucks!. I want my blue bar, and my computer thinking progress bar... time limits of CPU usage doesn't matter in a PBEM WEGO. And i want to see good tactics again!... i've never saw any real time game with good AI... realtime sucks in AI. It's also a shame that they didn't had any interest on develop TCP/IP with WEGO.
  16. Our curent WEGO it's just a fake... they designed it over mandatory realtime features. In reality we doesn't have a true WEGO.
  17. Don't forget to design a true WEGO with side benefits on TAC-AI due to a better exclusive CPU usage, and drop the mandatory realtime (fake) WEGO. Take the time that your team needs... but don't forget about this CORE feature, that is much better, and much more important for any serious wargamer. If you ignore it... many customers will be lost for the future releases. It's a milestone, nothing less!.
  18. The map editor, and current artillery features, are good enough. This developers team shouldn't spend much time with them, while we have CORE engine faults, like the fake WEGO design.
  19. A 1.0 version with true WEGO, and good tactics... it's a mandatory feature to satisfy your customers. Our current WEGO it's just a fake!.
  20. We can't agree with any step backwards on good features of the past... WEGO needs to be the core of this game development.
  21. Of course Taki... and you also can name the cool new editor as a big leap forward!. But i'm more worried than satisfied... because this tight turn in the developers, makes the wargame as overall, much worser than the CMBB & CMAK series. It's sad that the terrain editor is a much funnier game for me than the real game is.
