  1. Am I seeing a Panzerschreck projectile being fired from the inside of a building? Is this a new feature? Edit: Oh I see, they are just behind a wall.
  2. +1 I'd also like to see enhanced infantry at capabilities.
  3. I really hope they spend their restricted resources to fix real bugs and to add features, which enhance the gameplay further. Does it cause crashes? No. Does it restrice gameplay? No. Would a fix make the game more fun? No. Would the average player recognize the fix? No. -> Priority: very low. The average scenario has a scale, where it is impossible to be this close to the action.
  4. The Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 is nowhere mentioned. I remember pictures, showing german paratroopers equipped with this gun, during the battle for monte casino. Was the rifle produced in too small numbers, to be featured in the game? I know, it's not that important, I'm just curious.
  5. Hi, does anyone know if there is a possibility to force infantry, equipped with satchel charges, to use them against tanks? Most of the time when my pixel soldiers end up in close combat with enemy armour, they start to throw grenades. They are veteran and haven't experienced any heavy combat or losses. They just don't use their best anti armour weapon. This results most of the time in the eliminiation of the whole squad. I tested it 10 times now and only once they used their explosives after throwing 4 grenades. It was a save game. (same soldiers, same range, veteran, first combat situation) These situations drive me crazy. Does anyone have a solution?
  6. Hi, I have some questions, concerning some things I experienced, while playing the game during the last few days. Maybe some of you can help me out, if I did something wrong, if these incidents are bugs or even supposed to be the way they are. 1. Panzerschreck teams Are Panzerschreck teams supposed to fire their anti tank rounds at infantry? I experienced this several times. Without a cover arc, they open fire at infantry. And no tank was close or even in sight. Do these rounds have some kind of blast effect? (the team was experienced) 2. Squad seperation, concerning anti tank weapons I had a squad with one Panzerfaust. When I tried the Antitank-split command, two soldiers were separated but the Panzerfaust staid with the main squad. The game behaved the same way, even after loading. Is this a bug, randomness, or some kind of game logic? 3. hedge cutting A 2 men antitank team engaged a m5a1 light tank. God knows why they decided to choose their small arms, with a panzerfaust on their back, but they managed to kill an unbuttoned crew member. The tank panicked (I guess) and reversed. In reverse gear the tank cut through one of the really big hedges. Is this correct? 4. snipers Are the game snipers supposed to be real snipers, or something like designated marksmen? I mean they went thought training, got equipped with optics and especial accurate rifles, they got or made themselves camouflage clothing, ... At some distances they should be deadly and real moral killers. They should have a bonus in counter sniper operations. They shouldn't kill randomly. Etc. They don't feel right in the game. What do you think? Thanks.
  7. Hi, is it possible to fire the PIAT from the inside of a building, if the soldier is next to a window? Concerning the release, I really hope for lots of fixed bugs and improvements. The new units and missions are just nice to have. I'm still a bit sad, that this game isn't moddable, but I understand that it would mean the death of the game out of battlefronts perspective. And I don't want that. Although I think the game could be twice as good at it is right now.

  9. Hi, I downloaded the campaign from the repisotory. When I play the campaign and try to save my anti virus (antivir xp) software stops me from doing so. It shows: C:/.../tempfile o.tmp contains suspicious code HEUR/HTML.Malware. It only occurs with this campaign. Tried 2 other campaigns and different battles. In all of them I can save normally. But when I try to save during this campaign, it happens all the time.
  10. in principle you are right. but you have to admit: 1. it takes way more time to get from A to B, if you have to climb over an obstacle 2. the amount of persons, to get from A to B in a specific time,is lower. 10 people can't climb over the tank at the same time. 3. being on top of a tank, makes infantry a lot more vulnerable and the game addresses none of these issues. so I doubt that it is a good designed abstraction. In my opinion there is. The tile setup system works fine with units, but not with objects. I can agree, that an impassible bridge is maybe unrealistic. but the barbed wire and stuff almost doesn't slow down or hinder infantry in their movement at all. and you have to think about how expensive these obstacles are. I won't buy them anymore. one barbed wire element is worth a heavy machine gun. sounds fair, but a bridge is already a gap.
  11. I just played a quick battle, where I was defending an objective, approachable by 3 bridges. So I thought, hey spend some points on defense structures and make only 1 approach passable. With barbed wire, antitank-obstacles and mines I tried to achieve it. And now guess what. It doesn't work. All the obstacles are a waste of points. I tried it 5 times to place them in all kind of positions. But no chance. With this strange tile placement system it's impossible. And when you think, hey this could work, the infantry is just walking through the sidewalls of the bridge. To make this game even more fun, my only antitank peace is suddenly in a house and can't be moved anywhere. When I immobilised a tank on the bridge, I was so happy and thought "what a nice obstacle". But the infantry is just walking through the tank. The game has some interesting aspects and sometimes some great moments. But on the whole it plays like an alpha build. It's like Battlefront has interesting ideas (i.e. defense structures) but you can't implement them in a working way. After the first "patch" I'm really sad I spent money on this one. But maybe someone can proove me wrong and I just suck at placing these structures.
  12. but to be fair, I have to admit, that I used 3-4 save games for a mission. and without my panther tanks I wouldn't have had a chance, to achieve an end result, like the one above.
  13. Or you get no experience at all, because the game won't start on your machine I'll go with the demo to be safe
  14. For me this is the most wanted feature, too. I don't like playing against friends, but with friends (in realtime). Hopefully it will be in one of the addons, or in a sequel.
  15. Hi, I think I found a minor mistake, browsing through the manual. Maybe you want to correct it in an update in the future. On page 177 "[...] the firing port for the driver's MP44 was removed." Looks like a typo -> MP40. What I found interesting as a MAC user (p. 150): "Mod tools are only available for the PC version at this time." And if I'm allowed to make a suggestion for improvement: 1. when you zoom in on a page, a mouse click outside of the zoomed in page should close the page 2. when you zoom in on a page, l+r arrow keys should allow to navigate to the previous/next page I think this is easy to implement and for sure a standard in terms of usability.
  16. Will it be possible to change a license for an os into a license for another os? e.g. I buy the windows client, then I deside to go for a mac. Is it now possible to contact the battlefront support, to deactivate the windows key and get one for the mac? Then I could pay the download fee for the mac client and be happy. I don't want to pay 50$ twice, for the same product.
  17. Maybe this question is stupid, well I guess it is but will it be possible to purchase the windows license, to play the game from day zero on, and transfer it into a mac license to a later point in time?
  18. Hi, my MacBook Pro decided to die yesterday. It's totally dead (probably I got one of the faulty nVidia 2008 Chips ) so I can't do anything. I'm just curious, if I'm going to have problems, installing the game again?
  19. The passengers of the vehicle (2) are handled as crew. One of them operates the weapon system. And as they are displayed as passengers, I could assign them an arc, too. Maybe the driver doesn't even need one. I just wasn't sure, if he's the one in command and can override "crew" orders. Theses Fenneks are a really strange combination.
  20. Hello, I'm currently playing the Dutch campaign. One thing is really annoying. In the current mission I begin with a couple of Fenneks. When I advance they start spotting enemy main battle tanks (I think T62ms). And now they start engaging them with their 12.7mm machine guns. It's insane. Why should they do something that stupid? The don't recieve any enemy fire. And it becomes worse. I set really small target arcs, for both driver and crew, order them to hide, but they don't care. They keep on firing. Am I missing something?
  21. If it is of interest for someone, I'm playing CM:SF on a MBP 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM, GeForce 8600M GT 256MB. Screen resolution is 1440x900. Settings are low. Game runs smoothly and without any problems. (via Bootcamp XP) But I would really appreciate a MAC version, as I'm doing everything else via OSX. Rebooting just for gaming is a lil bit annoying ...
