  1. Some shooters may be mindless, but try Red Orchestra in a clan war and you may just revise your generalisation.
  2. What a pile of FUD, Mud. What's exactly is a viral license? Got any specimens you've been dissecting for us? Bollocks, Linux is not forked, and it's branches are maintained: kernel.org Just use a generic scripted install like Dropteam does if supporting a few distros is too much trouble. And you base this conjecture on what? So we should just continue as we are? no thanks, that's a dead end, look at the monstrosity that is Vista... "Qualified"? What like somebody that's managed to install it? Yep that'll be a major problem I'm sure. You got shares in MS or something?
  3. Haven't bought a box since my first 386, it's not exactly rocket science. The trick is to spend a few hours reading reviews and HW forums to find the bits (motherboard and power supply especially) that are proving reliable.
  4. The speed of sound: Seeing a flash in the distance, an explosion nearby, and then a second later hearing the report of the gun.
  5. I should attach to a clique? ah that's where I've been going wrong all these years, fancy thinking for myself, finding my own way, learning the lessons, what a waste of time. You can keep your labels, I'm just to here to enjoy myself, not prop up a fragile ego.
  6. Ok that's it demote all the Justiciars. Without the rules this cesspool will turn into a muddy puddle! Some may claim that'd be an improvement but they can SOD OFF!
  7. Maybe around your way buildings are bullet proof, but if Syrian construction is anything like Tunisian construction then they don't count as hard cover.
  8. No wonder there's so many civilian deaths in Iraq.
  9. Someone's going to get a spanking! but that's probably what he was hoping for.
  10. The borg is dead but I'm seeing some zombie spotting. One case was a "destroyed" M1 that was the only unit with LOS to an enemy unit that didn't go to question mark like I'd expect it to. The other zombie issue is selecting a corpse from a unit that is showing a QM selects the whole unit and gives you full details.
  11. Good to see some have a clue. Sick of the whining weenie, I want my $50 back threads.
  12. Go easy on the red cordial! What are you on about?
  13. There you go CupOHerpes, one PBEM RT setup in the post. (Hey you chose the sides, only fair) Hmmm maybe tcp/ip over Royal Mail wasn't such a good idea, will try carrier pidgeon next.
  14. OK numskull so highlighting it in red is going to achieve what? Try all caps next time, maybe that will work. Sheesh. For those uneventful turns maybe an "ASAP" option. ie it runs faster than real-time, as fast as the CPU can manage. Would it be possible to change from RT to WeGo mid campaign? A designer could recommend the small engadgments be played RT, the big, WeGo.
  15. (We're way way off topic now but it was a bogus topic to start with so he'll live.) Vi rocks, it's fast to use (once you know it) and powerful and for maintaining remote *nix servers OO is never going to hold a patch. However if some numbnut has sent me a word doc vi is about as much use as a crayon. The point? the right tool for the job is what's needed and classic RTS controls aren't going to cut it here. CM:SF has made some major changes over CMAK, and there are few tweaks needed to get it running smooth.
  16. One query, should successive Apache bursts not all come from the same direction? I see volleys from the one call to one choppper hit a target from different side of the map if the strike is split accross a minute in wego.
  17. Are we talking building walls or free standing walls?
  18. On the contrary good bunny sir. I have been around quite a while longer than you have and even though I may not post very often I am not in, but rather look down into the cesspool as time permits. If I have a full bladder and a moment to concentrate I may also micturate into the odiferous mire and upon those clawing their way out. How dare you reduce my declamatory gem to mere "Blah"!! I challenge YOU sir and I will even take the Syrians! COH </font>
  19. don't let them surrender either, I didn't get points for "uncompleted" objectives. Makes for an interesting undeclared constraint.
  20. Have to chuckle at strykers doing donuts around a waypoint, and finally stopping with their arse to the enemy.
  21. < snort > You're masculinity is a fragile thing delicately perched high above an unforgiving reality.
  22. I'm not sure how the carrier vehicle of a VIED manages to still exist. Seeing a burning taxi at the bottom of a 4m deep crater makes me chuckle.
  23. These wall abstractions have been giving me grief of a different kind. The situation is wanting to breach with direct fire weaponry. As the wall is terrain you can't aim at it, only at an 8x8's on "this" side, most of the rounds land short. Can't aim past the wall because sight is blocked... Eventually stray shots will take out a couple of panels but in spite of gap that sure look wide enough the vehicles try to go around. Is there a breaching technique?
