  1. Ditto BFC, I enjoyed CMBO and CMAK. I am enjoying/struggling with CMSF and am learning a lot. I look forward to your return to WWII ETO in CM2. Thanks for your great products and product support.
  2. I don't know anything about the modern radios. In the old days Mortar and Arty FDC's had multiple radios. So one of them would have to switch a radio to the other FDCs freq/push. The FDC would, for example, radio the FO "Shot Out, Time of flight 36 seconds". Then five seconds before impact would radio "Splash 05". So the FO could focus on that part of the business.
  3. No insult taken Fellow Gamer. Actually I have never tried to edit a campaign, so I don't know.
  4. When I started this thread, I just wanted to make a suggestion to those frustrated with their tactical results. I did not intend it to become home for those wanting to insult old timers who happen to like gaming . In my first post, I suggested adding arty and time to a scenario via the Mission Editor. When I was in the Army, we did not believe in fair and balanced fights, we wanted to be on the side using max over kill. Several have pointed out correctly that such a practice in CMSF can result in a not very fun game. If that is a problem for you, skip the arty and just add time. I have no experience with modern warfare, but the advice I see often on this forum to go slow makes sense to me. Take the first battle Abu Susah. IMHO the US player must do three things. He must locate and defeat the ATGM screen, clear the village, secure the Objective at the end of the map, and do so in that order. 30 minutes may not be enough time for those tasks to be accomlished in a tactically safe manner. Try two hours.
  5. AMEN: Given BFC's attitude on fixing things until it is right, I don't mind paying for a product that needs and will get free improvements.
  6. Take the first two games for example. I think the US player lacks the indirect fire support I would have expected. Consequently, I find it difficult to complete the mission without heavy friendly losses. All I am saying if you find yourself in that situation, don't get frustrated, add arty until you get more familiar with the game.
  7. So if this story is confirmed will you begin to suspect the Mainstream Media and their leftward tilt?
  8. Steve, Hey, thanks for the info and the dedication to developing another great CM game.
  9. Load the scenario in question into the Editor. Add a battery of artillery and some time. Save and play. Keep your strykers out of RPG range and pound the target with the arty. Once the bad guys are softened up advance the strykers slowly. This is a great game. But some of the scenarios don't have enough indirect fire support. That does not seem very realisic to this former FO from the Vietnam days. I don't ever remember being outside of the artillery fan.
  10. I think the game needs an ONLINE Command. The Assualt command initiates a fire and movement sequence for the squad on a fire team basis. We need to be able to get the whole squad online and in the fire or assualt mode
  11. I am running CMSF V 1.03 I select Quick Battle from the main menu page and am taken to a parameters page. I fill that out and select OK. I am kicked back to the original main menu page and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
  12. OK I give, The Demo says the first thing we should do is load the troops in the Strykers. How do you do that?
