  1. I know what the scenario is called, but that was only half the map. If he released the full map not sure what it would have been called.
  2. No sweat, but I am still kind of in the dark.
  3. Well don't do it the way I am. LOL I just went back and read the forum thread from it's release. Apparently I have been going at it all wrong. Read this before diving in https://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=92372&page=23 It will not disappoint you having read Joker One.
  4. You'd be the person to ask- short of LLF himself. Was the full Ramadi map ever released? I have seen the pic, but I don't recall seeing the map.
  5. Umm not to sound ignorant- cause I really am - what is ATV AI? and pick your opponents well. The game takes on a whole other character if you and your gaming partner are in synch.
  6. Gawd, I give up, you just can't get past that straw man. You can only count the modules in the GAME you are playing, not the ones you are not playing. CMBN has two modules. According to BF they will likely most have two modules. I don't care if CM East Front 1941 has 2 modules if I am playing a PBEM in CM East Front 1944 - it is not relevant. Are you playing anyone HTH right now? I hope to hell you say yes otherwise I am seriously going to wonder about your purpose in this discussion. Please for my sanity, say yes even if you aren't.
  7. The Mobile asslt platoon continues to try and force a path down easy street Meanwhile 2Lt Campbell and his men catch their breath, look to their wounded and redistribute ammo. You get a good view here on the extent of the warrens they still need to penetrate to rescue the other Marines of 2/4th. the tower in the distance is the approx position of the mobile platoon and beyond that Joker 3.
  8. Ramadi - compliments of Kieme - dang this looks nice View from a support chopper circling Joker 1's position.
  9. damn I have a lot of downloading to do.... beautiful work. I expect a lot of this will be usable for when CMSF2 comes out though you are likely to end up with more options then- a definite good thing.
  10. Commendable, but I started that little bit. I don't feel particularly guilty however as it was Daroc who insisted he was being blackmailed. It seems however that despite all his expressed frustrations his last few posts have taken a slightly different tack with CM. Either he is just getting hooked and has decided to take the blue pill. . . or has just gotten tired of listening to us. I think it was the blue pill. I appreciate you recommending civility. Still, there has to be some room for ribbing one another in this community. Be nice to be able to buy someone a beer afterwards though. Hmm new internet business- buyabuddyabeer.com........
  11. Probably in the same vein, but direct from the knowledge base. This is really a great underutilized resource. I think Erwin's post is actually a direct copy from this. Easier to remember to go back to the knowledge base than find a post however. I just reinstalled CMSF on a new machine this summer and this worked exactly as described. http://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/help/article/127930 I need to reinstall CMSF and one (or more) modules. How do I do that? If you have a CMSF module, then you do not need your base game license key (ever again). That's because when you activate a module with a module license key, the base game is activated automatically as well. There is no need to license the base game separately if you intend to install a module with it. For Windows Vista and Windows 7 users we recommend running the installers by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator" from the popup menu. The default directory for Battlefront versions is usually '\Program Files\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force' for 32-bit versions of Windows and '\Program Files (x86)\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force' for 64-bit versions of Windows. Please double-check where you install the game and ensure that modules and patches install to the appropriate directory. A new folder/directory in the game's actual directory would be an incorrect location to install a patch to. Most patches will replace the main game executable and you should get confirmation that the patch installed properly by looking for this version number at the bottom, middle of the main menu screen. Here is the correct way to reinstall CMSF and its modules (as of patch v. 1.32): Install CMSF, do NOT license it if it is a Battlefront version. Install the v. 1.10 patch for your distribution (Battlefront or Paradox). This step is sometimes not needed if you have the Marines module, but bundles that include the Marines module may not have all of the necessary files that are part of the v. 1.10 patch. If you have the Marines module, install it now. If you have the Marines module, launch CMSF and use the Marines license key to activate (this activates both CMSF and the Marines module). If you have the British Forces module, install it now. If you have the British Forces module, launch CMSF and use the British Forces license key to activate it now. Install the v. 1.21 patch. Make sure to make the correct selections for the modules you have. Making an incorrect selection will result in modules disappearing or license key requests for modules you do not have. If you run into this problem reinstall the v. 1.21 patch again and make the correct selections. You must install the v. 1.21 patch BEFORE installing the NATO module. If you have the NATO module, install it now. If you have the NATO module, launch CMSF and use the NATO license key to activate it now. Install the v. 1.31 patch. Make sure to make the correct selections for the modules you have. Making an incorrect selection will result in modules disappearing or license key requests for modules you do not have. If you run into this problem reinstall the v. 1.31 patch again and make the correct selections. Install the v. 1.32 patch. Make sure to make the correct selections for the modules you have. Making an incorrect selection will result in modules disappearing or license key requests for modules you do not have. If you run into this problem reinstall the v. 1.32 patch again and make the correct selections.
  12. Well I am a VoIP engineer - meaning phones are my thing. I phoned that in by routing it through London, overseas via PSTN to a Tokyo gateway, back across the network to a hub in Singapore then via tie line to NY and then.. oh s**t Utah is still in the stone age, do you even have phones? I would never consider I would discuss matters with anyone here as an equal. Even drunk and stoned I couldn't get myself down to that level. I've tried. Best I could do was a homeless guy hammered on sterno in an alley, but even he was able to put together a coherent thought (hey buddy got a dime). He also did not get very excited thinking about Emrys. I think his response was something like "Emrys who? Has he got a dime?" Sadly I didn't know, but suggested if he could get pictures of Emrys he might sell them to you. It is nice to know you have a job though, I'd have thought you were unemployable. Someone must have been feeling charitable.
  13. I wouldn't complain if offered more choices, but b is pretty good.
  14. Okay here is a clear example of what I was referring to earlier that you characterized as grumpy. Yes there are other games and modules, but how is that at all relevant to a pbem? If you select CMBN, there is no possible way CMFI, CMFI-GL or CMRT have anything at all to do with your force selection... again you are just tossing BS in there and hoping when it lands you somehow won't be covered in s**t. It isn't even remotely logical or germaine. No there aren't 6, there are only two and one is precluded by date. Spin it any way you like. In CMFI there is only one and again precluded by date. CMRT who knows yet, but again precluded by date. Nope you only need to know CMBN and CMBN/CW solo can only go to august and CW has wait for it - commonwealth troops... and the SS. wtf would you need a calender for? It is a drop down selection. Annoyed is more like it as you seem to just keep hunting for possible reasons to complain and yet in the time you spent typing it you should have figured out your argument was completely false. The only conclusion I can reach is you just want it to be true, you WANT or need a reason to complain.
  15. Now c'mon guys, this is a family friendly forum. And no Emrys that doesn't mean getting friendly with your own family...just which side of Washington state are you from again?
  16. mmm well then it gets down to some level of simple preference. These do look good, but I think the PF hit would look more like BF's than these. Kind of like Ari's vehicles. I like the dirtied up look, but have to admit, they look like vehicles that have been driving around in Europe for years- Mad Max meets Normandy versus the tanks that just came off the boat and mostly just might have some dust. meh, all comes down to what you like. However Tank's building mod, that is a requirement.
  17. I had a forward team use that PF on an enemy scout in Hamel Vallee. PF, it's not just for armor. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1361908&postcount=38
  18. Let's face it, you are just throwing stuff out there now that is irrelevant to make a point that frankly doesn't have much to stand on. Would you really want to pbem someone who is at 1.11? I mean come on you have invested a fair amount to keep current, get to use FJ and the cool armored vehicles, have triggers, infantry firing AT weapons from indoors and along comes someone who is still at 1.11 cause they can't figure out if they like the game enough or not to even get to 2.0.... really you are gonna bother? I know I wouldn't. They can play against the AI to figure out if they like the game enough to get current. And yes I could load it at 1.11 if I wanted, not sure why you think that isn't possible. As to modules, yes that is a slight bit more difficult but we are only talking two modules. It isn't like there are 15 out there. What might be nice is if in the editor/force selection it marked which units are with which module. That seems to be a reasonably straightforward way of handling without trying to create some kind of system handshake. However you'd think from all the clamoring that it required an encyclopedia. I mean geez, if it occurs in august 1944 it could only be CW and the base game options, you don't even have to worry about MG so now we are only talking 1 module. Really is it that hard to know what came with CW? Honestly it sounds more like you guys just feel a NEED to complain. It isn't like if you give it more than a few moments thought that most of the complaint is fluff with no real meat. Isn't it about time you got tired of this game and moved onto your next Steam purchase? It has been over a week now.
  19. swweeeeetttttt I went with version b, little more yellow than the others
  20. heh, my very first experience with tank riders was play testing Studienka. Tank rolls up towards my ambush position and a PF goes arcing through the air taking out the T34 and a LOT of red crosses on that tank. That was my "oh s**t" moment about the drawbacks of tank riding. Fortunately I was doing the ambushing.
  21. it might also have meant all the guys on the tank would be dead now...... but that doesn't really matter. BF had only said that the labor required precluded it for the upgrade. They did not say never.
  22. Yeah, every time I pick up a book on the war in Irag I fall back to this game and usually at some point this scenario. The desperation and chaos, ammo shortage, exhaustion of units - it all works so well to get some sense of things. Honestly I am looking more forward to CMSF2 than I am CMBS. Here's hoping they widen the scope of the game. One of the things that makes CM work so well for me is there is so much reading material relevant to the game that makes you want to go back and try things out. CMBS won't really have that. Not that it will stop me from enjoying it, it is just I won't have those moments reading something and say, damn that would be a cool scenario...but then again who knows what things will look like in 3 years.
  23. If you think about it, it kind of makes sense. BF does try to avoid penalizing the AI overly much. There are a lot of things suggested for CM that would just make the AI thoroughly incompetent. Bad enough now that it can't use area fire, smoke etc. If it had the same restrictions at Iron that a player has it would never be able to manage C2. I prefer playing in Iron as I have a better feel for what my units are experiencing in terms of isolation. I would however pass on that if the AI was facing the same penalties.
  24. Damn, I wanted Combat Mission:Car Service. And then the module combat Mission:Bus Service. Then I realized when looking for opponents they might not have Combat Mission Bus Service upgrade to 52.01 so I may need 52 installs for all the possible opponents I have... who amount to one person, my grandmother. She is a kick a** bus driver you know. Damn BF and their complicated system. I can't play against people with buses if they don't have Combat Mission Bus service. What a rip off that they can't play something they didn't pay for. and why should I pay for the upgrade to get double decker buses. That should have been included from the start. it is after all Combat Mission Bus Service and the double decker is a bus. And where is the Greyhound?!! Grumble grumble grumble wheeez grumble grumble grumble
