  1. I have made a mod for ploughed fields in snowy conditions that produces much less annoying moiré patterns. The ploughed fields ground texture is also used for some of the crop fields. Here is an overview what it looks like under sunny conditions (click and enhance to expand for a closer view): The mod is the same for Final Blitzkrieg and Red Thunder but I made seperate folders for convenience. Note that there is a seperate one for Fortress Italy. All three can be found here for now, and maybe @Bootie can add them to CMMODS later on. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1cyq3wnr79ym0mb/AACTEp1VWL0H-3zUaiCzSxC1a?dl=0
  2. I was able to solve it. Earlier today I changed security settings in Windows for protected folders which is good in case of a ransomware attack. Thought only folders with .exe files would restrict access, but it was enough that the incoming/outgoing folders are subfolders of the overall "Documents" folder for the problem to arise. The weird thing was that the warning messages of file access being blocked only came after restarting the computer. So now it works.
  3. CM Helper automatically puts the save from outgoing email to the shared dropbox folder. That’s what seems to be out of whack or the save received from my oppo is corrupted.
  4. Haven’t touched that folder but will check just to make sure.
  5. See attachment. Every now and then I get this message when saving a turn in a PBEM. Most times it is resolved by trying again. Not now though. Have tried reloading the save from my oppo twice and yet cannot save my turn. Internet works and Dropbox not full (use CM Helper). Anyone knows what causes this? Corrupt save from my oppo? Workaround?
  6. Seems worth a try for sure - but is that the only setting you change and not all of it as described in the first post?
  7. Very nice looking mod @umlaut - the only "drawback" is that it is hard to choose which one to use. Is it possible to mix mods and use numbering of hulls etc so that different camo schemes can show up in the same scenario?
  8. CM games don’t like some types of sound enhancement apps (like Nahemic) so if you have one, try switching it off.
  9. Also in this briefing for the Axis side: one objective is not listed properly. On the map the "Vineyard" objective has one action spot seperated from the rest of the objective so when objectives are turned on "Vineyard" is in two places. The farm objective has one name as a "location" and a different one as an objective.
  10. You'll be amazed who is hiding behind a forum name. I heard Liberace was a major groghead who lurked around these forums.
  11. I have no idea what you’re talking about but I’m a pretty good singer so it might be me without knowing so
  12. Just to be a bit picky, it is by rocketman. There is another member by the name RocketMan who has made some mods and who I’ve been mistaken for. Thanks for the upload. Since it is in CW it only seems fitting to drop some cluster bombs on it.
  13. By chance I saw that Kieme made a terrain mod for Black Sea which uses the same idea that I have for making plowed fields as free from moiré as possible. My current test texture is pretty good and like Kieme's it reduces moiré significantly but not entirely. So I suggest downloading it for now and I will make mine later on. I hope it is available at CMMODS. I will probably concentrate on making on that suits FI as Kieme's work for the other titles. How to deal with season changes I haven't thought about yet.
  14. It appears that the BRDM-2 (don't know which version) has a tank as its contact icon. Is that intentional? Seems weird to me.
  15. Yeah, I don't appreciate my oppo having X-ray vision
  16. I haven't had time to work on it but the first texture worked. Even if they work I will have to improve them so that they fit the overall color scheme of the games. So one might be suited to FI and another to RT/BS and so on. I agree on the contast thing - same with shadows, much more jagged in those conditions.
  17. That's my brewer; a Coffee Maker (CM): Black Sea. I like my coffee black and strong as hell
  18. I really looks great. One minor thing though. In FB, the G43 looks like it has a drop shadow in a different style than the other weapons I've seen so far. g43 shadow.bmp
  19. Thanks for the heads-up. Never heard about it. I'll look into that.
  20. I hopped over to the Nvidia Forums and there seem to be some issues with recent drivers so I updated to the newest one. If my problem persists I will try to revert to an early one, but I rather not as the new ones support ray tracing for Red Dead Redemption 2 which I'm getting in the Steam sale.
  21. I have it. PM me with e-mail adress and I'll send it.
  22. I should add that I haven’t updated any Windows or hardware stuff recently that should explain the problem.
  23. I have never had issues with input lag with CM games, but the other day I noticed it in BN. Didn't play yesterday and it was the same today. So not an isolated instance. Then tried FB briefly and had input lag as well. No problems in any other programs, games or browsers. Lag occurs both for keyboard, mouse pointer and mouse click input. Sometimes it can be up to 0,5 seconds. Sometimes nothing at all. What to do? As it is now it is barely playable. Will test the other CM games tomorrow.
  24. I don't know if it is fully confirmed but I think they intend to create a multi-player single side system. So you can play the campaign with different players controlling AGN, AGC, AGS, Air Command and so on. Would be really cool and also an easier way to get through the campaign with not as much "work".
  25. I still see moiré with this mod only a little less pronounced. Moire occurs with a repeating pattern and not with a single terrain tile, so my conclusion is that it is all about the pattern on the single tile and if it will induce moiré when repeated. I have downloaded some terrain textures that look promising in that they can be a fair representation of a plowed field, but not creating moiré. First test is looking promising. Will do some work with this when I find time and give players a few options to try. Right now I have three different textures that I hope can work out well. My experience is that moiré occurs most in sunny conditions, but I might be wrong. One thing is for sure and that is that the pattern occurs much more at different camera angles toward the ground, direction orientation and general light conditions.
