  1. thanks for reply, will wait and see what happens ..... and i agree with the reinforcements at map edge, you should never be watching and waiting so bigger maps would help.
  2. i was stunned when i first used a spotter , loved the interface , loved the additional control. Not found the lack of ADUST problem yet but makes sence to have it i would argue, some with SMOKE. scott
  3. cant be surly, what if you want units to hold fire until a cetain line/point .... need HIDE and cover arc for this dont we ?
  4. brilliant post, get it off your chest mate ... must be annoying personnaly i think it great that BF post as from a customer point of view: 1. its great to be listen too re feedback 2. its great to hear the justification / train of thought for certain mods. All to often end users just assume developers are a bunch of clowns that dont understand the consumers needs. You guys have proved time and time again with the CM series that you move in the correct direction. Oustanding games. Scott.

  7. i cant get units to hold fire ether even when hidden. i assumed it was because the units were conscripts/green (one exp bar). does anyone know if this is the case ? noticed that the observe/hide by popping up now and again to have a look. is this a feature of low experience unit ?
  8. i like using cover arcs to take large segments of the map especially for armor ... but i cant seem to move arc off the map so im left with a corner uncovered ... so if reinforcments happen to pop into that area they always shoot first !!! anyone else has this problem ? scott
  9. i chuckle with you pathfinding issues are an annoyance to me but i put up with it because the game is pretty damn good. Im sure more of these issue will be sorted with a patch or version 2. CM title are a great tactical experience and the poor pathfinding does take away from that. Im sure BF see the problems too.

  11. i feel there are a few shortcoming too - but not too many and i guess there was pressure to release ... so im happy it out now overall an look forward to V2
  12. right click vote from me too - although i cant see how it will work as right click cancels movement phase per unit at the mo.
  13. i agree, so far my pathfinding is SOOOOO annoying. Unit move into line of fire when i have spent time waypointing out of harms way !!!
  14. hide at the end of move command is such a big part of my tactics .. I struggle without it. will try the ARC thing too thanks.
  15. i would like more detail about the units, names etc ... i like to build an emotional attachment to units , makes me more careful.
  16. ok so what about HIDE command ? on WEGO you sit/stand happy in a field getting shot at until next turn :confused:
  17. with you there ! at first i thought i wouldnt enjoy CMSF after playing CBBO/CMBB,CMAK to death but CMSF is awesome ! Its great to have a different range of weapons and tactics. And the game engine is working so well on my 6 year old PC (granted with graphics card + ram upgrade).
  18. 1. CMAK allows me to add a HIDE command at the end of a MOVE command ... cant seem to find a way to do this in CMSF. 2. Sometimes the HIDE button is not available ... is that simply because there is nowhere to hide ? Thanks Scott
  19. ah i see, thanks for that. In my mind i have CM down as turnbased as i play AI 99.9 % of the time .. keep forgetting both players move at same time. "WeGO" makes sence now, thank you. Scott
  20. how do you describe that depth however and show how detailed it is compared to TOW or indeed the Microsoft title Close Combat (i mention Close Combat becasue i have been trying to get friends/family into Combat Mission for years and struggle to put into words how good a tactical simulator it is !!!)

  22. very true , poll would be a little bias. true as well, WW2 module would be a better comparision but it doesnt take much to imagine WW2 units using same engine.
