  1. Sounds like what happens when I run the game without disabling one processor, have you tried that?
  2. Not so Fast! Ive seen this before but its no bug, in the damage report 'RAMP' is listed as a damageable location.
  3. Right after my last post I figured I'd give it one last shot and I got it figured it out in 2 minutes (after frustrating myself for an hour). I have a ATI X1900 series GPU and heres an(other) fix.. -put Catalyst control center to 'Advanced View' -go to 'Digital Panel Properties' -> 'Attributes' -at the bottom of the page/menu is 'DVI settings' -click both boxes 'Reduce DVI Frequency' + 'Alternate DVI Mode' Im not sure if both boxes need to be checked but it works for me so I'm not complaining!
  4. I have the same problem, and have played around with every possible combination of graphics settings I can think of to no avail.. I tried working around the problem but its pretty much impossible, any one else have any ideas?

  6. There is a book called 'Aliens: Colonial Marines Technical Manual' which is very detailed and goes into many weapon systems including armour, SP arty, and AT weapons not shown in the movie. All are really believably designed with many great diagrams and tech specs including armour values also there are little snippets describing potential OPFOR scenarios. It would be a great reference to create a tactical wargame. That said the Aliens license probly would cost a fair bit but damn its's one of my fav movies and I would love to see Battlefront tackle it the US Colonial Marines!

Great scenario, pretty much had it beat but managed to make CMSF crash by messing around with re-crewing a wounded BMP with a fresh crew while re-supplying some squads (Im really good at breaking software!). SPOILERS FOLLOW.... I lost 1 BMP right away to the T-55 but luckily had another perfectly positioned hull down behind that last fold of land on the farm side of the bridge for a AT-4 shot, which was taken just as the tank was charging down the slope towards the bridge with great success. Later that BMP was to take 3(!!!) spg hits and survive for the loss of the gunner and optics. Good job Im going to try it out again, it would be really interesting with 2 T55s....

Im very happy with the new patch but I also saw crommies getting hit by concentrated schrek, pak40 and Stug fire at close range and shrug it off, it just seems to me that it takes ALOT more to kill tanks. Before the patch I never saw this and any HEAT hit would almost always zap the whole crew. This was on medium difficulty setting.
  9. I'd like to see AT guns (with the ability to hide in bunkers fortified houses or garages) and towed AA (ZU-23/2 ect) for use against ground targets. As far as infantry I'd like to see the RPO Shmel (any or all of the 3 flavours thermo, incendiary and smoke) as well as the thermobaric RPG-7v rounds. AML-90 would be cool as would other Lebanese army equipment such as their M-113 ACAVs and M113s with various mounted weapons(ZU-23/2s, recoiless ect), these could concievable be written into the back story of CMSF. As someone who likes playing red vs red the most, I'll be happy with any addition. [ January 28, 2008, 02:02 PM: Message edited by: Panzerfest ]
  10. I used to drive one of those BV 206 too! I19 Boden 90-91, Älvsbyns kompani. Real fun driving through 1 meter of snow with the rest of the platoon hanging on for dear life on their skis behind the vehicle. </font>

  13. I have the same problem except it doesn't lock up on me, I have found that messing around with alt-tab + clt-alt-del will fix this.
  14. Im having a similar problem. I just started the campaign again, while deploying I placed the FO beside the FSV and started the battle turns out only one of the FO team was outside the stryker the other was still hung up inside, the dismount button was not highlighted, the stryker refused to move but the one FO would move about. I restarted the battle and tried re-deploying the FOs still only one would dismount. So I placed them inside the FSV and I started the battle but again only one member of the FO team would deploy and the stryker wouldn't move... This was an undamaged stryker FSV at the beginning of a battle. I only tried twice and didn't experiment with any of the other strykers, but they would move around fine.
  15. Real time all the time. Although I really miss the ability to 'rewind' and review the action.
  16. Ive somrtimes have issues with ATGMs (especially AT3s) deployed on roofs with the wrong facing at the beginning of the battle. They refuse to fire and wont rotate towards the target.
  17. Ive never had a problem getting a squad to shoot their Javelins. Targeting a building with a squad and 'target' command consistantly results in a Javelin getting fired.
  18. Yes! Rough edges and all there is no other wargame like it!
  19. Ive had problems advancing thru a breach that was adjacent to a corner like in the above screenshot, I got frustrated and open the breach almost twice as wide but still no vehicle or dismounts would go thru.
  20. Ive seen richocets from a BMP firing AT ammo at a tank.
  21. I have been having a blast playing CMSF, the campaign has been especially immersive. Every time I play I notice a new little details exceeding my expectations for this game. It has retained the classic CM feel while implementing real time which IMO is much more realistic. Some of those negative threads leave me wondering if their refering to the same game! Sure there are theearly release bugs/stability issues but for me they are FAR from deal breakers and I trust that BFC will take care of them soon. CMSF right now is more than I had ever hoped for.
  22. Penetration details shown when you click on the knocked out AFV would be nice! Maybe only shown at end of battle for elite.. I guess Im really missing the stats screen from CMx1.
