  1. Funny, I always missed that feature from CMx1...
  2. Battlefront better hurry up and release this thing cause people are starting to go a little crazy here!
  3. I totally appreciate and prefer tentative release dates as that is a sure sign of intelligence and dedication to the craft on the part of the developers. But I do worry a little about their seeming lack of advertising. I want them to have all the glory that they deserve!
  4. You know the guy who does The Atheist Experience cable access looks suspiciously like how I recall madmatt looked. And his name is even matt! Maybe someone could call in and shout out a plug for battlefront
  5. I don't remember how I heard about the original CMBO... Just that I was big into Talonsoft and SSI's titles so I must have seen it referenced somewhere, maybe wargamer.com? I do remember being proud to see an advertisement for it in a WW2 magazine back in the day. Maybe I can venture to ask formally what is being planned in terms of advertisement for CMBN? Surely not a television spot!
  6. Please tell me that when a German tank crewman is wounded he will shout "Ach! Mein bein!" XD
  7. The suspense created by immanency is half the fun I think Such is a secret to happiness in life: Always have something to look forward to! And when it's released... the amount of nerdy giddiness and fist pumping jumping for joy that will inevitably result while it is downloading and installing will give way to sombre teeth gritting and armchair clenching as the patient and/or daring virtual battlefield gambles succeed or fail as the sun rises and sets and life goes on... and we find ourselves after some time looking forward impatiently for the first module to be released... and then the next one and the next and so on on into the sunset... as the tide ebbs and flows and the constellations shift across the sky...
  8. I was 15 while eagerly awaiting the release of CMBO. I'm 26 now. It all started when I was in Toys R Us of all places long ago as a kid and seeing a copy of Panzer General in the bargain bin. From then on, it was SSI and Talonsoft all the way and when I discovered Battlefront I was so excited. And now here I am 11 years later just as excited for the release of CMBN as I was for CMBO!!
  9. Well, can fausts and shrecks and zooks fire from warehouse sized buildings in the game?
  10. You know, I've been witness to a few peng threads before from back in the day. But I still don't know how it all got started. Where did peng come from? Who was the first person to start a peng thread? Has a peng thread ever hurt anybodies feelings? Maybe someone can save themselves from public shame and PM me if they have answers to any of these, life's, most meaningful questions... or not. I guess I'd be perfectly content with you all just sodding off instead. Dozy bastards...
  11. CMBN isn't released yet!!! Please fix or do somfink!!! ooooo shiny manual..... gahhh...
  12. No, that wasn't a bug that was Tyrespawn setting their move waypoints awkwardly so they were both trying to carry out his orders but it was jerky because of the cramped space.
  13. Ohh OK, that could make a big difference I guess. I'm excited as it seems to run great for you and I have a better rig than that! Though I am not using multiple hard drives. You know I also wondered how big those videos must be raw recorded using FRAPS, they must be huge! It makes sense to me now that you would record them to a dedicated hard drive Thank you for the response, and thank you for the great game battlefront!
  14. Hi I was wondering what computer system you use to run the game and on what graphics settings. Thanks for another breathtaking video AAR!
  15. That is exactly my feelings. Never quite got hooked on CMSF and its modules in the same way I did the original series. But I sure was proud to support battlefront! CMx1 were so good that BF is to me etched in diamond. I hope they keep up the good work for many years to come!
  16. I think that it wouldn't be bad as an option. Just as we have now an option to do WEGO or realtime, so might we be able to set a complete, partial or no Fog of War setting for our battles. This would allow some interesting scenario design options in cases where neither side really does know where it's going!
  17. Beautiful! Well played and I am sincerely impressed by and excited to play the QBs!
  18. Hoorah!! Hoorah!!! Release must be so close now!!! Looks fantastic!!
  19. Next week? YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I cannot wait to put some rounds down field on advancing lines of Shermans!!
  20. Yeah man, just relax, I think it will come along fine just as soon as everyone has been settled down to the game On the plus side, it will give you plenty of time to brainstorm and ponder and work out the kinks of the mechanics of the Tourny etc, but also much of the work cannot progress without having your hands on the actual software can it?
  21. I would just like to say that it is threads like this one that make me proud to and love being a computer wargamer. Kudos to all of you. I have learned a lot from this fascinating thread alone. So, nothing to add here particularly, just expressing my passionate appreciation
  22. Thank you for the meaning of the acronym. I understand exactly what you were talking about now!
