  1. The Few Good Men will be starting a CMA Ladder in the near future. I know there are some big fans of CMA here. If you're looking for regular, quality PBEM opponents, please drop by and sign-up. Bob
  2. Along these lines, US/Marines/British/NATO troops have night vision equipment which gives an incredible advantage in the dark. The Stryker (and some other US/Marine/British/NATO vehicles?) carry IR-spectrum blocking smoke which blocks IR sensors on Syrian tanks. US/Marine/British/NATO units are always equipped with radios and often computers which help maintain communication/situational awareness where as the Syrians don't. Bob
  3. I wonder if some of them are going to be included in the "odds and sods", last module to CMBN. Bob
  4. I'm not sure what you mean. PM me with a better explanation. Perhaps I can help you troubleshoot this. Bob
  5. Is there a way to tell what skill level (e.g., Basic Training, Veteran, Warrior Elite, or Iron) a scenario is being played at after it has been started? I know you can see what skill level it was played at in the after action screen but what about while the scenario is being played? Bob
  6. I don't know how I missed this original post. Paper Tiger, this new campaign sounds fantastic. I love the idea of having the international community step in if you're too heavy-handed. I look forward to it. Bob
  7. I'm glad to hear the FJR are planned for Market Garden. That was my biggest disappointment with CW and what I still feel is really missing for the Normandy setting. I'd also like to see the Free French formations added for MG if not the Odds and Sods. Bob
  8. Check this out... http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=95267&highlight=Market+Garden+Module Bob
  9. Thanks for the plug, Childress. There a limited as to which units can be colored differently. For example, all Germans share a common set of floating icons. So, you cannot have icons for the Waffen and Wehrmacht in the same set/package. I could release a separate package giving all German soldiers black/white SS style icons if there is demand for that. Along these lines, the Allies share icons for the HQ, FO, Sniper and all fortifications, and the Commonwealth share all their icons. As a result, Commonwealth nations all use the brown drab/tan icons for the infantry, tanks, guns, vehicles, etc. but those shared icons (HQ, Fao, Snipers) are Olive Drab/khaki. Bob
  10. These are good. One of my favorite minor additions is that movement path lines are now visible above the trees. With 1.00/1.01, movement paths would disappear below the trees requiring you to use Trunks Only or turn off trees. I never new I wanted this enhancements until I used it for the first time. Bob
  11. While I agree that they don't need to speak French, I will admit that I lose a little of the Immersion factor when I hear the southern American drawl come out of the Canadian ("take a look at that", anyone?). Admittedly, it is nitpicky. Maybe' I'll make my own mod. They could "take a look at that, eh" or "take a look at that, ya hoser." Bob
  12. I was just thinking the same thing. The content in the latest patch would have to be backwards compatible (not usable but not cause instability in the base game). It may be worth a try. Bob
  13. Last week, with a few minutes to kill, I went back and looked and two historical Combat Mission data points: the time between the manual being put online and the release date, and the day of the week in which the product was released. My survey was limited to Marines, British, NATO and CMBN. Based on this "scientific" study, I forecast release on Thursday, March 8, 2012. The first data point - the time between the manual being released and the product being released - vary considerably for past releases with 21 days on the high side (for CMBN) and 3 days on the low (NATO). So, if we drop CMBN since this was a new game and look just at past CM modules that were released, we see the average delay between manual availability and release is 10 days and the median is 8 days. This gives us an initial forecast somewhere between Wednesay and Friday of next week. Looking at the next data point (day of week the product was released), Battlefront has never released a CM product on Monday or Friday. They released NATO and Marines on a Thursday, British on a Wednesday, and CMBN on a Tuesday. Given that, we can toss out Friday and narrow our forecast to either Wednesday, March 7, or Thursday, March 8, with Thursday being the more likely day. Is this analysis statistically valid? No. Do I have insight into what is going on at Battlefront? No. Did I have too much free time on my hands? Yes. But, I stand by my forecast until I'm proven wrong. Enjoy your last few days with the Americans versus Wehrmacht before mix our forces with the Brits, Canandians, Poles and Waffen SS. Bob
  14. I have seen Germans crews perform amazing feats with their P38s. During Bloody Gully in the Panzer Marsch campaign, one of my Panthers was taken out by a bazooka from the rear, the crew leapt from the disabled tank and proceeded to waste most do the rifle squad hiding in the nearby woods without losing a man. I don't have a ton of examples but that one stands out. Bob
  15. "A Module to Far"...Were you holding that one back for the right moment? Flippin' hysterical. Bob
  16. Xian, thanks for sharing your list of mods with the ratings. I'm honored my floating icons are on the list. I hope to have an update for CW with a couple of requested enhancements done shortly after the new module is released. Bob
  17. Before you do anything else, go to the Repository and download Devil's Descent. It's a great campaign. Now that that's done, you can find PBEM opponents here. Just post on these boards saying you're looking for an opponent. I'd volunteer but am current tapped out of time for another game. Alternatively, you can challenge someone in the numerous Peng threads. Bob
  18. I'm playing Road to Dimas (great campaign, btw, PaperTiger). I'm playing Hit and Run. I've played this scenario several times trying different tactics to see how to maximize the rebel's kills while minimizing their losses. No spoilers here, but... I have noticed that the foot-based AT-4A teams seem to be much more effective than taking out the T-72Ms than the AT-4C missile which is mounted on the BMP-1Ps that I'm given. They seem to be equally deadly (or not) but the 4Cs shot from the BMPs seem to miss a lot more than the 4As shot from the sand. Is this (a) my imagination, ( a fluke, or © due to the AT-4C being mounted on BMPs and less stable than the 4As which have a stable base to fire from? Bob
  19. Whako, if you're looking for another game -- to help fill up your 3-4 turn availability -- I'm happy to play. PM me with an invite. Pick a scenario, pick a side. Bob
  20. Erwin, I did mod the WW2 icons. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'm looking forward to Commonweath coming out in the next few weeks. I plan to tackle those ASAP. Bob
  21. I'm interested. I'm not sure that I can keep up with a turn a day but should be able to do every other day without much of a problem. Bob
