I think this is just another great example of the survivability of the stryker.

I imagine they used this strip one to many times in a regular interval, wouldn't be the first time people have been killed in Iraq due to aircraft using the same route over and over. Plus since this was an unimproved strip there would be no permanent personnel, the troops would just show up when the plane is supposed to be there. With a command detonated ied no one would have a clue it was there until it was to late.

The problem I see is that we've been spending billions for small "improvements" on the M16/M4 for the past 40 years. What's spending a few billion more, to get what seems (i haven't fired the M4 or the M416 of course) to be a much larger improvement? On a side note, what's the comparison in performance between the G36 and the M16/M4?

Funny until you see pictures of it. Take the left wing off from the outboard engine to the tip, with the engine being destroyed also so the prop probably did some damage to the body of the aircraft. Not a pretty sight for sure, made me a bit sad and sick in the end. I'm amazed there were only two minor injuries.

I would suggest you google "Explosively Formed Penetrator" which is what EFP stands for. And nasty little buggers they are too. It might be good to model them separately as they provide much different damage than your normal IED. Instead on blast and fragmentation, they use penetration and then of course fragmentation when they punch through the armor.

The top and bottom vehicles look an awful lot like the cougar, which is already being used by the marines and EOD units in all services. A good choice if you ask me.

The cougar is (or will be at least) the marine replacement for the HMMWV, and is the secondary vehicle for EOD units in general. The army has also expressed interest in the cougar, but i have yet to see any more recent information on that.
