  1. Hey para, can use the H2HH Help->Report Bug function to tell us what's going on, we'll take a look. As part of that, exit H2HH, then start it again (to reset the log) then do whatever it is that is not working, then attach the log to the Report Bug ticket. Oh - also, move to 1.4.6 as a first thing, too. If you don't already have access to it, drop me a note with your email address and I'll add you to the access list. (Maybe I better put 1.4.6 up at CMMODS sometime soon!) Thanks! GaJ
  2. Yep, dealt with the PMs today Let me know if you didn't get access. Surely there are game improvements: I thought that each new module comes with a patch for the original that has these. One thing I'm expecting (based on some thread or other) is improved Arty interface. I'd pay $35 just not to have to go through the painful sequence of button presses all over again each time I click a strike that isn't quite right. Somewhere it was mentioned they are working on many playability features... I was thinking that at pre-order would be the time we get the list of these... GaJ

Yeah - there might be some sort of solution like that, but even this is fragile, because players are at liberty to number the turns however they like, and if you save a game then reload it, the default thing is that the number increases! It's a really tough one. No, me either There must be an easy solution if it was given thought, but ... GaJ
  8. Actually, you are welcome to post it at CMMODs yourself. I view CMMODS as a kind of secondary place where it's released, and only upload major revisions there. But anyone can upload it GaJ
  9. ... most significant thing is a bugfix to the "End Game" function, which was not working at all for games that have a "double drop box folder" setup. While I'm here: a surprising number of people have reported to me that H2HH doesn't work if you play CMBN on more than one machine, using Dropbox to share the game files. It's surprising because it never occurred to me that anyone would do that. And... sadly... H2HH has no way of coping with this. It assumes, right to its very core, that you are playing on one machine only. Two things will break: 1) if you play with 2 machines, it will lose track of who's turn it is 2) if you play with 2 machines it will loose chat from time to time (in fact, probably each time you swap machines).   10. As Erwin and xkcd said: the most secure passwords are pass phrases: easy to remember, hard to crack.
  11. If it's a WEGO game, then you already have the save file with the exact movie that is needed: it is the last turn that your oppo sent to you. Just pass this on, with the password, to the beta testers, they can take a look. GaJ
  12. hah - both actually work There is the "stable" version posted at CMMODS (you need to search for H2HH to find it). There is the "most recent" version in the Dropbox H2H Folder (as well as the stable version). At the moment 1.4.0 is at CMMODS. 1.4.3 is in the Dropbox folder. GaJ

  14. As someone else said, you can area fire into there, bullets go through walls like they aren't there... (though area fire into the second floor can have it's own problems: for a start, you have to be able to see the bottom floor)
  15. I can see that RT would be the way to go for Single player. I don't understand it for 2 Player, umlaut nailed it for me on that one. So maybe it's not an age thing, it's to do with whether the people want to play single or 2 player, this WEGO vs RT.. GaJ
  16. Huh - I would have expected H2HH to cope with these file names, but it sounds like it doesn't eh? FWIW, putting a "(" in a file name is quite a nasty thing to do to a programmer :) I'll take a look. I do recommend naming the dropbox folder the same as the game name for smooth troublefree operation, but I do know this isn't always practical (sometimes your oppo likes it to be named something different, or you are reusing the folder from last game or whatever). GaJ
  17. I think you only get to see crew (and indeed indications of individual squad members) when you can actually see them. So when tanks are buttoned up, it shows no crew info... GaJ
  18. Phil: this is behaviour I've been longing to see. I hate the instant identification. Are you sure that's what you saw? If you see it again, can you take a video? GaJ
  19. How did you know that a contact was a "possible armoured contact" before you know that it was a Stu? For me, I think that contacts are either "something is there, no idea what" or "fully identified". Am I missing some valuable in between state? GaJ

  21. I would love to set it up to do CMSF etc by default. I don't have those games. Do you know that time and again I have asked, in various forums, "what is the default install path name for these games", and not one single time has anyone answered. I reckon I've asked four times. I totally utterly don't get that. Not one single person has been able to be arsed answering my question. What is is it with that? Anyhow, togi, 1.4.4 is supposed to be working fine. It's working fine for me. There was an update from 1.4.0 to deal with Russian characters in the install path name, and another update to cope with folk who delete files manually from the dropbox while H2HH is running... that tripped H2HH up. If something seems wrong, send me a log file, describe what the problem is. Not just "it doesn't work". I mean "Here is a log file where I played 'Huzzar' turn 10, and after that my turn file didn't appear in the dropbox" Thanks, GaJ
  22. If tanks are so fragile, their subsystems I mean, then why wasn't this modelled in CMx1? CMx1 had "gun damaged". We were told this represents all sorts of things, such as optics taken out. And yet the chances of a CMx1 tank getting a bad roll of this nature was quite low. Have BFC re-evaluated the likelihood of this? Was CMx1 just wrong? We're talking about basically the same thing here: a dice roll determining whether a non-penetrating hit damages the tank in a way that the gun can't fire. In CMx1: rare. In CMBN: frequent. GaJ
  23. LOL indeed. Fair enough. I better get used to it. Note that I wasn't asking for armour penetration values per CMx1. I was missing the fact that the battle was determined by how you weilded those factors.... GaJ
