  1. Wow thanks posting for the definitive list: it looks like I missed only one: the stuart-with-rhino picture. Now you mention it, I reckon I have seen that once. It is bizarre how there are some of these that hardly ever pop up, and how it is that the distribution is different for different people. Some wacky old random number generator BFC have GaJ
  2. .... an update for the curious: Alan resolved this by deleting the game file folder for that game. Alan is back in business. We suspect that the accent in the folder name might be the culprit. I have that "on the list" to look into. GaJ
  3. As you can see, H2HH is having strife with the chat file that it mentions in the log. I'll take this up with you, Alan, in a PM.... GaJ
  4. There's a thread about this in "Tech Support": http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=101004 One suggestion has been to turn down graphics settings... saving you memory, so the game file save can work... GaJ
  5. So... not fatal, but more tricky. How do you know who's turn it is, in SC? GaJ
  6. One thing to realise is that the "Game File Folder" for each game doesn't have to be a "Dropbox Share". From H2HH's point of view it is just a folder where your game files arrive. So - for email games where the files are downloaded to some place that is not CMBN Incoming Email, you want to use Edit Game to point to where they do arrive: for each email game where the files are arriving some place other than CMBN Incoming Email, use Game->Edit game and set the "Game File Folder" to tell H2HH where they are arriving. There is only one limitation: these "Game File Folders" have to share a common root. You set this using the "Dropbox Location" in the Installs->Edit Install menu. (I wish I didn't called it "Dropbox Location" ... really it's "Game File Folder Root" - it just happens to be convenient that it is the Dropbox location if you are using Dropbox!) So if you are using only email, and you have all PBEM turns arriving some place like: C:\Users\Javaslinger\Downloads Then do Installs->Edit Install set Dropbox Location to C:\Javaslinger and for each game Game->Edit Game set Game File Folder to C:\Javaslinger\Downloads Then H2HH will know that all your games have their incoming turns arriving in this place. But what if you are using email _and _ Dropbox? Well, at the moment, you will have to set Dropbox Location to C:\Users\Javaslinger\Dropbox, and you will have put the default email download location under there, like C:\Users\Javaslinger\Dropbox\Downloads I know this isn't ideal, but there is a good reason why it is the case (*). Maybe we will improve this situation in H2HH 2.x In fact, at least for gmail, the situation will be dramatically improved, because H2HH 2.x knows how to download PBEM turns from gmail for you HTH GaJ *: the reason that there has to be this single folder under which all the incoming files are organised is because H2HH monitors this folder tree for updates - that is how the "auto update" works. At some point, we may specifically monitor each individual incoming directory individually, instead of monitoring the whole tree. That will free up this limitation. It's all just coding work
  7. Sorry, my mistake: I meant SCHRECK of course... GaJ
  8. I could be persuaded One consideration is "where does the game expect to find PBEM files?" If there is a game that has a directory where it looks for "incoming files" in one directory, and puts its "outgoing files" into a different directory, then supporting it with H2HH could possibly be quite a small job... how is Strategic Command in this respect? Cheers, GaJ
  9. 1.4.0 Beta got rebranded to lose it's "Beta" tag when we decided it was "The One" It's the same thing inside Cheers, GaJ
  10. Hi All, We're pleased to announce the release of H2H Helper version 1.4.0. This is available in the H2HH Dropbox Share and on CMMODS. As always, please drop me a note with your email address if you'd like access to the Dropbox Share. The list of enhancements made since the last "stable" release (1.1.3) is appended. In summary: it's come quite a long way, with many small-but-nice things We'd like everyone to move to this version, unless there's some strong reason for you not to. If there is a reason for you not to upgrade, please tell us, so we can fix it. The first response to a bug report on a version that is not 1.4.0 (or later) will be "can you please try this on 1.4.0". If there's a problem with 1.4.0, we'll do our darndest to fix it quick. Meanwhile ... what's next: gmail support. Hopefully we'll have an alpha of that for the more adventurous of you to try real soon now. GaJ for the H2HH Team. 1.4.0 - Enhancement: Added the "Mark played turns with ~" feature - Enhancement: Tidy up drop box option - Enhancement: End Game function - Enhancement: Launch App - Enhancement: Open Game File Folder - Enhancement: Icon display - Enhancement: Updated translations - Enhancement: Protected against strange file extensions in dropbox - Enhancement: Protected against zero length files in dropbox - Enhancement: Added option to turn off taskbar flash for Windows - Enhancement: (minor) Say the name of the app that will be launched - Enhancement: (Windows) Make the taskbar icon flash when there's something interesting... - Enhancement: dont raise log window if the error is not so important - Enhancement: Help and Bug Report on Help Menu - Enhancement: reset functions available
  11. And we all should really think Normal Dude for this revelation: he was immediately stripped of Beta Tester status when BFC found out he told us! Thanks Normal Dude for this self-sacrifice to keep us informed! How will we ever repay you? Now that we know development is dead, I guess we should all go and start work on trying ourselves to hack the binary to support the features that we want... GaJ
  12. I just got the panzerfaust guys while loading a game file where I'm playing Allies... FWIW... GaJ
  13. So if you see a blown up tree ahead, take a different route
  14. I'm not as sure as I originally was that I'm getting Axis pictures when I play Allies. I realised that the tank coming through a breach is a US tank destroyer, so that's a US picture (there's no way the German army would have all those guys standing around enjoying themselves like that ;) ) . I will keep a careful watch GaJ
  15. Hah - amazing how different the distrubutions could be! I've also had that one withe mortar a few times: I forgot about that. I always think "_this_ is what these guys are doing, and they can land with _that_ precision? Really?" The others mentioned: I don't think I've seen! Note: Just because the pictures are forces specific, that doesn't mean that each bunch has to have only Axis or Allied pictures in, does it? For absolute sure, I've had Axis pictures while playing Allies. GaJ
  16. Hah - interesting, and that is true! Not for any specific reason, it just seems my oppos regularly prefer Allies, so I end up with Axis. So I have more pictures to look forwards to as I play more Allies eh? I wonder why some are rarer than others... GaJ
  17. I've been playing a fair bit of PBEM CMBN recently, so I've seen a lot of Loading 29%. Thus I was gobsmacked just now to see a new picture - one I haven't seen before! It was a JagPZ looking thing coming through a breach in bocage, with lots of soldiers standing around looking like it's been a heck of a job getting it through. This made me wonder how many pictures there are, and how they are chosen. I get about 4 of them very regularly, and some extremely rarely. Here's a list off the top of my head: German dudes looking at a map - common Shrek team looking out of foxhole - common Panther (?) near a statue - common Panther (?) rushing towards us on a road - common Tragically fresh young troops marching away from us, one looking back - moderately common Marder-ish thing in a forest - moderately common Two Pz-ish things closeup - moderately common A JagPZ looking thing in a town, with foliage cammo - rare A tank looking like bush on a road, with a wreck behind it - rare A street fight scene, guys facing away from us - very rare Troops proceeding away from us in a street with a wall on the left - very rare Two guys with an MG facing left - very very rare Sherms facing away from us - very very rare JadPz looking thing in a breach - only seen once Did I miss any? I guess modders can see these in the Data somewhere? Do other people experience the same sort of rarity? Curious! GaJ
  18. Now I get it, sorry I was being dense before. Thanks! GaJ
  19. Sgt Schulz: your points 1 and 3 together seem to mean that buddy aid to redbase casualties _is_ rewarded in point score? I'm still confused
  20. Next time you're waiting, you can use the Arty interface to find out how long till FFE... GaJ
  21. If there's a slight point gain, then it's worth it. I'm still confused whether there is or not, and under what circumstances....
  22. I just had an AFV die due to deciding to go the long way around a house when I pointed it through the gap between a wall and the house
