  1. Anyone else seen this ? I noticed twice in the same game, german squads losing 9mm ammo without them firing it off. Can soldiers lose ammo ie drop it, if not it may be a bug. V1.01, I have saves I think. Cheers.
  2. Don't know if I have a save, will try to recreate.
  3. Could someone tell me if this is a bug or not ? It's quite a problem given the repositing and set up time for onboard arty.
  4. Played my first scenario with mud (small patches of mud) and it seems to me that bogging and imobilizing happens a lot more than in CMx1.
  5. Don't know if this has been noted. While playing a game I could not use my on board IG's as being too close to a hill that lay between the guns and the target, they had LOS but no LOF. I therefore moved my guns back far enough until they had LOF on the target, however when the commenced firing, the shells were all hitting the trees that covered the hill between the guns and the target. It seems as if the game is not taking into account the trees but only the elevation of the hill itself. I hope this is clear enough, cheers.
  6. Maybe it's just me but it seems that all the armour in the game moves a bit too fast.
  7. I think what you need to check is whether the guns have line of fire from the spotter. The spotter may have LOS but if the guns are too close to an obejct ie building or in this case a hill, the angle of trajectory is too great and they won't have LOF. so you will have to move them further back.
  8. for me stumbling across the cmbo demo. Eastern front is my bag, so cmbb and all it's improvements. having the action play out in a way that corresponded with historical reality. Cmbn, german squad running through a village, from behind a wall up pops an american G.I. who starts blasting away at my squad. The gunner in the german squad, who had his m.g. 42 Shouldered, stops, pulls out his pistol and drops the enemy with one shot, then casually jogs on. When I saw that I thought, ok there is a lot going on here.
  9. Got mine last week, in Edinburgh,Royal Mail, no extra charge, bad luck Phil.
  10. Got mine, didn't have to pay any extra postage...satisfied.
  11. This is a pet peev of mine. I would be hard pushed to come up with an account of smoke being used or issued at squad level, for the purpose it is used, in game, in any of the reading i have done. In game I think it should be restricted to engineers and they should have at least two. The german tank hunters are allocated two and I have experimented in game and had them crawl undetected up to wire in front of a pillbox, blow the wire, run into the crater the blast makes masked by dust and smoke then throw smoke grenades and they are in. The engineers can do this but you can't rely on the one smoke grenade they have giving the coverage needed. also german breech teams have no smoke ability, which i find odd, given thier task. A.Beevor D-Day " The first bombs were dropped on target, but the wind blew the dust and smoke noth across the Periers-St Lo- road, so subsequent waves began to drop their loads short. the forward companies, realizing the danger, trew orange smoke grenades as a warning, but the quantity of drifting smoke and dirt covered them. there was no radio link betwen the ground and heavy bombers". Here they are cleary to help with ground to air comms, in regard to target identification, so outwith a large planned assault, even if smoke grenades were supposed to be issued, resupply was a problem many units faced and given the choice would you load out the last space on the truck with a box of smoke grenades or a box of handgrenades or ammo, If you are a german defending a villiage in Normandy, why would you need them? I don't come across accounts of it's use defensively as presented in the game, ever really, so I myself do not beleive it was anywhere near as common as it is portrayed in the game.
  12. Hi, BASA welcome to the forum. What to do is, in the battlefront folder open the data folder and then you must create a new folder named Z then it's simply a matter of unpacking the mods you wish to use into this folder. Cheers.
  13. Ha, forgot that the maps are not randomly created, old habits..
  14. The set up zones in QB's, for me seem to be mostly too small for my side and for the ai too close to my own. First one I played was quite a large village map, took ages setting out the battalion of infantry I was given (squeeze up there boys) and the enemy were in the next hedge line 100mtrs from my start line, I feel that the size of map and room to manouvere is nulified, as my force's start out on top of each other and don't even get the chance to "shake out " into their formations because the enemy always seem to be around the first corner. I'm not saying this should never happen but so far it seems to happen more so than not. I will say I haven't played enough to know this to be fact but was wondering if anyone else noticed this.
  15. User38, yup thats the one, it's a great feature of the game that cuts out a ton of work.
  16. Don't know if it was Otto Riehs but I remember reading about an AT gun ace who said he deployed on the forward slope as he reckoned he was harder to spot, also he would have his crew lay their zeltban shelterhalves on the ground beneath the gun as this would reduce the dust kicked up by the gun when it fired.
  17. Hi, Iv'e noticed sometimes when I press 3d prieview in the editor, the game goes funny, the graphics are all messed up, then when you go back to the editor, some parts are white'd out and I have to exit and restart the game to correct this. I take it it must be an issue with my ATI card as the behaviour is simililar to CMx1, when the text used to dissapear and you got the white box thing going on.
  18. Hi, I've had No.3 happen as well, whats worse is sometimes the squad moves off to a new location and one guy is crawling and he will try to crawl all the way to the new location, even if it's a long way off, then it's like the leader has to run away back to where he is before both he will stand up and follow the order i. e. move fast.
  19. Hi, I would like to see some german officers wearing steel helmets and some wearing caps, is this possible or would it be one or the other ?
  20. nice big screenshots on the forum but when I try to use the manage attachments feature to post my own, it keeps saying files too big,how do you do this ?
  21. Come on then all you old cmx1 players. what have you been taught by this game so far? For me 1. Fear the mortar. 2.German tank hunter teams are mean. 2 men, panzerfausts and demo and TWO smoke grenades, attach them to your pioneer squads and you can then use the pioneer on the offensive in a much more realistic way( they need that smoke cover to clear obstacles) 3.Fear the mortar.
  22. Massive scope, seen so many great things in this game already and have only played two QB's, starting to get the feel of it and I see that it is a very different beast to cm1, overal I am delighted with the new game, well done BF.
  23. I'm fine with this as I see it as an abstraction. Officers and NCO's have a higher casualty rate, due to the fact that they are more exposed to enemy fire because they control and direct the squad,
