  1. Yup, it's a little bug, had a tank shot out, yet the surviving yank crew could still call arty.
  2. Yes, I'm sure I have a saved file, what should I do?
  3. Oh I meant Rad not Krad by the way, you know the Psw 23 thingy.
  4. Just flagging this up again, to make sure it is noted.
  5. Closing the gap Krad Hq can still call arty even though vehicle is destroyed and Hq shown as being out of command.
  6. Right, in middle of scenario, there is a 5 min delay for all units calling in mortar support via radio, except for FO who has a 4 min delay, fair enough but the mortar section linked to the hvy wpns hq and mortars who are in voice contact are 5min like every other unit that radios in. I would think that the mortar teams own Hq shouting the firing orders would be at least as well practiced as the Fo radioing in, if this is whre he is getting the 1min bonus from ?
  7. Ah, ok, everything set to max, have to do some tweaking, thanks.
  8. Hi, only had time for a quick look at the demo but I'm sure I saw one or two soldiers sliding into place the last few metres of a move. I know this was sorted out in cmsf so just wanted to make note of it. As I say I've not had time to really get to know the demo yet but I'm sure I saw this behaviour a few times on the Eberbach scenario playing as the Germans.
  9. Ha,this has made me think, been playing cm for years now and still don't have a clue what my German or Soviet troops are saying never mind where they come from.
  10. The mortars are deployed, they are in sound contact with the FO and he can call them in, for every other hq unit with a radio they are marked as out of contact even though the hvy wpns Hq is sitting right next to them, and is in radio contact with company Hq. Ps all hq's are in radio contact.
  11. The mortar teams Hq is right next to them, he has a radio and is in radio contact with his company Hq, yet Company Hq cannot call support as the mortars are marked as being out of contact to him. there are no mortar halftracks in this build.
  12. HI, I looked in the manual but none the wiser. Playing germans in the Eberbach scenario, my hvy wpns co (in radio contact with Kp Hq) is next to my mortar teams yet Kp Hq is marked, out of contact and can't act as spotter, surely anyone in radio contact can call on support or what am I missing?
  13. Heard of TC's comandeering another runner when their's was ko'd but never crews, so no re-crew of AFV's. If crews can remount any AFV, you will get people having their veteran PzIII, crew swapping with their regular Panther crew and such like, which is not on.
  14. I still get enjoyment from cmx1 games and have waited long enough for this not to be put of by a bit extra cost. I know i'll get more than my investment back in years of gaming, so in the short term, yup it's a bit dissapointing but in the long run it'll hopefully still be worth it.
  15. Excuse me if this is a stupid question but does this only affect preorder, will it be different post release?
  16. As a citizen of the U.K. I feel a compensatory release date bone or something to that effect, would go a long way to repairing Battlefronts relations and reputation, with it's european cutomer base.
  17. The generation depicted in these games just didn't swear as much as we do today, thats what the vet was talking about in reference to Saving Private Ryan. Don't forget, they were brought up in an era of, elbows off the table, speak when your spoken to, respect your elders and so on, therefore no they did not swear near as much as the youth of today do, the ill mannered little f***ers that they are.
  18. Can't put their reputation all down to propaganda, luck and atrocity, much more complex and subtle, what makes any formation an elite unit is the psyhcology of those who are part of that organisation [the SAS are not seven foot giants} and with the SS you have the extra layers of politcal and racial ideology to contend with also.
  19. Tacticaly, didn't they have a lot of catching up to do with the Wermacht, due their gradual expansion from bodguard unit to corps and armies. I think that knowing their infamy was a virtual death sentence, must have led in no small part to their reputation in defensive fighting and holding out type situations, but there were some first class divisions within the SS were there not.
  20. Installed new video drivers and been playing the new cmsf demo the past few weeks to get used to it. Game runs great now and judging by what i've seen, I think cmbn is going to be a great game. Anway my point is, Iv'e been playing with the editor a bit and have to say that there's no cause for concern about the lack of auto generated maps. Get the hang of the editor and you can make a playable map in minutes for human v human. And looking at it another way, if you just add some random elevation points, the program will generate a map with more than enough features to be tacticaly interesting, then bash some trees down, a bit of this a bit of that anywhere you feel. Do it all in the editor without looking at 3d preview, save and play 70% auto generated map. I don't see this as so different, after all, when you created a random map in cmx1, you would then have to remove all the soft ground, water, marsh and other misplaced tiles, here you just add some.
  21. Hey MikeyD. no need to be sarcastic, I am only voicing a concern about something i see that worries me. let me try to explain my question a little better.. I am worried about the actual accuracy of units firing in the game. In cmx1, as a player, I tried and for the most part kept my casualties to within a level I would expect in real life, will my playstyle achieve similar results in cmbn, or is the casualty rate running higher across the board and if so why?
  22. German 3 para regiment, elite unit, defending Cassino town 1944.Between 14 and 23 March, during very heavy fighting they lost 50 men killed, 114 wounded and 270 missing. from a force reckoned to be 700-750, 60% casualty rate. CMBN one hour battle, what looks to be a German infantry battalion, 157 men ok, 100 killed, 70-78 wounded = about 32% casualty rate, that is a bit stiff. once again if it is just playing style, though again, from what I saw the ai did nothing suicidal in the battle, then ok, no problem but if it is that the accuracy of the aimed fire is too high, then that is a problem.
