Dead Bodies Request

And stop my soldiers shooting surrendering enemy while you're at it. I find it rather disturbing... -
Mac users not getting email problem
Fetchez la Vache replied to Michael56's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I have my own mail server and nothing was caught up in any spam filter. I simply did not receive the email. So I don't think the problems are at the end-user side of things. Obviously would be nice to fix since although we can still d/l the game there may be poor sods out still waiting. -
Yes I am. The 1:1 representation has made infantry actions much more fun than CMx1's three stooges and I am finding myself naturally trying to maximize suppression and minimize casualties. I'm still making my orders from "up high". But zooming during play back is simply a joy. Do you know? I might even give CMSF another spin after this. :-)

Oh god, to live in a country with a f4t p1p3. Hotfix worked for me. \o/ This has been a long time coming. Phnar Phnar. -

Another daft post deleted. You really don't want to know... move on, nothing to see here. :-) -

I didn't need it - just clicked on the link provided in the email I received after placing the pre-order. Sent me to the download section, with the key already loaded in (nice touch) and then away I went. At 40kB/s for 7 hours. :-( Before I went to work. :-) -
Install mods in the MAC OS X version
Fetchez la Vache replied to Nicdain's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
I think it was recommended to make a folder called "Z" and place the mod .brz files in it. The files are loaded alphabetically and therefore any mods in the folder called "Z" would be loaded last - which is what you want. You don't have to call it "Z" I guess. "Z-Force", "Zebedee", "Zee Amerikans Are Coming Hans", etc would all work I would have thought? -
Why do we have to see (?) contact icons for dead/wounded enemy? At least that what it looks like to me from the demo, please correct me if I am wrong. And surrendering soldiers possibly as well I think? After pounding the village in Closing the Gap I rushed in only to find I had been apparently providing suppression onto a bunch of dead and wounded soldiers. Hopefully no-one will be bringing war crimes charges against me. To be honest I only want to see contact icons for troops actually moving about and generally of an "alive" appearance*. * obviously this doesn't strictly apply to nazi zombies in-game

They were only pre-school children though, iirc?

Install mods in the MAC OS X version
Fetchez la Vache replied to Nicdain's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Right click on CMBN package (executable) -> Show package contents You should get a new Finder popping up showing you the folder structure inside the package. Data should be there. GL -
Well if it's a choice of either buying now or buying later, then it's not really a question is it? You may as well get it now. :-) That way you get to have more fun in forums too...

They didn't throw StuGs. That's silly and a waste of a good tractor. They just threw wooden logs hard enough to penetrate the KV-1's frontal armour at ranges up to 1000m. That's why you see so many pictures of Finnish StuGs with logs lashed to their sides - they're carrying ammo...

Cheers, although still downloading. I'll give Murphy a quick slap next time I see the little blighter... Incidentally, because of this did BFC delay the emails going out to Mac pre-orders? I have not received an email yet - although I've been checking the forum more than my inbox recently so it's a moot point to be honest. :-) -
Mortars question??
Fetchez la Vache replied to Placebo's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I'm carefully plotting mortar round trajectories on my monitor and measuring the resulting azimuths and angles in order compute and execute counter-battery strikes. I shouldn't have used a permanent marker pen though... bleh. -
I cannot run over men
Fetchez la Vache replied to freeeman's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Damn. There goes my plan of M5 hoards rushing all over the map running over men and materiel. Bit like zombie hoards on speed, except with light tanks... -
Ammo - lots and lots of ammo...

Need "Target Armor" Command for AT guns
Fetchez la Vache replied to Echo's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Hear hear. I would like a armour cover arc as well. Lost 11 men to one shot of PaK HE, but that ID'd the gun and after that it was 60mm toast. Would this have been a realistic outcome irl? -
BF, You Blew It

I just call all Americans "Septics". Rhyming slang. :-) -
Now write it out 100 times by sunrise or I'll cut your balls off. Hail Caesar.

Mortar spotting
Fetchez la Vache replied to Dark Knight's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
If you have 4 on-map mortars (al la Busting the Bocage), how can you tell which one you are calling up using a spotter? Besides just trying each one in turn? I don't see any identifying notes on the artillery tube "tabs". -
Why not make it possible for non-Rhino tanks to cross low bocage but make it very slooooooow and with a significant probability of bogging? If I understand the problem, it's the earthbank part of the bocage that causes AFV's trouble whereas it's the hedgerow that causes infantry trouble. In which case we could perhaps do with 4 different types of bocage: 1) Low hedgerow, with earthbank 2) High hedgerow, with earthbank 3) Low hedgerow only 4) High hedgerow only ?

Suppressing a defensive line.

Ah again. I went straight to the Commands section. I didn't read the tutorial. Obviously :-) My enjoyment level has just gone up a notch. -
Suppressing a defensive line.

Ah. *pause for silence* Thank you Lanzfeld. But I don't see this rather important point mentioned in the manual? -
Suppressing a defensive line.
Fetchez la Vache replied to womble's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
No joy trying to use pause and movement orders to break up smoke targets. I'd love an option similar to artillery to control the suppressive target fire: duration or number of shells; linear or area; type of shells; etc. Particularly since suppression is one of the key factors in this game, along with the arty.
