  1. My bad, should of more carefully read your post before clicking away to the link. Again, outstanding work as usual!
  2. Outstanding! One suggestion but it would involve more work Split the units by category (armor/support/troops) to cut down on load time for dial-ups. Or, you could get real fancy and database the units which would allow for user inputted search queries but that might be taking it a bit far...
  3. Still can't download a thing. Password not accepted (anon.). Why is this going to an FTP anyways? Oh well, if somebody wants to zip up and email me the new terrain for CMBB mods, I'd be happy to host on my site as well...with author's permission of course.
  4. Besides, in CMBB you have Supermen that can whisk through woods like it was open ground and see through obstacles that mortal men cannot. Why go back to CMBO?
  5. Both the Winter and Summer versions are available on my site now, look for Aussie_Jeff_... He'll be making the formal announcement sometime later I'm sure
  6. I've got the "Secret Formula's" for both the winter and summer versions. I'll be running them through Photoshop shortly and will post the results and a notice!
  7. Hmm, wonder if yours was one of the ones I was getting Klez from? I'll email you my other email addresses.
  8. Sure, go ahead and email the formula to me, I'm interested to see what you did anyways Time permitting, I'll make the conversion and upload to my site.
  9. Hey Redwolf, is there an IRC channel for CM? For opponent finding I mean? Sounds like there must be by your post. What channel is that? I haven't IRC'd in years. As far as the topic on hand, I think a "fix" would be to have the radio chat that's already built into the game become enabled as soon as your opponent makes the connection. Of course that's a lot easier said than done I'm sure. If you've ever played Links (golf) game online, the process is really nice, you can chat with it's built in chat (much like the radio in CM) while viewing all the setup screens. Only the host can change the settings, but your partner can make suggestions throughout the process. Something like that would really be nice, but again, a total reprogramming of the whole game I'm sure and just not in the scope of this release.
  10. In playing around with the grass mod's, I noticed that the "table-top" tended to take on the same color as the predominence of all the grass that is on the map. So my guess, is that it simply "smears" or blends grass tiles to form the "outside world" that is beyond the field of combat.
  11. I said: I guess it's alt-tab, "is this ok?" "ok, we're ready now", alt-tab back to game, start the game for me. ME I said. Not telling other people how to do, just how I do it. And the topic is "Feature Request", not "whiner's whining" or the like. Simply saying that it seems to me that in most TCP/IP 2 player games, both players go through the setup together so that the parameters can be agreed upon without having to go outside of the game to do it. And that, is a "Feature Request" that I share with the original poster.
  12. Ugh...I do enough "forms" at tax time. I guess it's alt-tab, "is this ok?" "ok, we're ready now", alt-tab back to game, start the game for me.
  13. Makes sense, and I can certainly understand the model sharing, but does any vehicle actually have an octagon for a front wheel?
  14. I can never get access to download anything from Tom's! Somebody fix it or somefink!!!
  15. I 2nd this! It's kind of buggy to have to alt-tab out of the game just so you can ICQ or email (or call or wave?) to your opponent that you have the game set and that they can now connect. If both players connected first, then went through the setup process together (with the host being the only one that can actually make a change) and while having chat available... I believe this is the most common approach to 2 player TCP/IP games, at least in my experiences (though limited), no?
  16. Does the CM model really have octagonal wheels up front? Makes for a bumpy ride, but not as bad if it were a square I guess....
  17. Thanks Apache, but I think this IS the final version. I've run it through several different seasons and times of day and I'm pretty happy with they it looks in every instance. However, I am open for suggestions, and if I can make a change that would improve it all the better, then I'm up for trying it. Bruno's suggestion of somehow having seasonal grass is a valid one I believe. Instead of using the same tiles and have lighting (gamma) changes for the season and time of day, it would be outstanding if the seasons would use a different tile set altogether. But, I do understand there has to be limititations and I think this is one of them. The BMP's alone take up 700+ mb when installed on the computer. The grass tiles alone are 30 mb (approx.). Having different grass for each season is 120 + mb just for grass. And that's a lot of grass (dude).
  18. I've had Klez sent twice to my cmbb@ email address, which I just set up this week and have never used nor advertised anywhere but here. The Klez has a from of: MALBERTO@ and a return path of: gayers@ If either of those are familiar to you (yours) you might want to grab the Klez cleaning tool from Symantec.com Sorry for the interruption, now back to your regular scheduled programming.... Ok, took out the email addresses. Yes, I know that Klez spoof's the address, but this person could possibly be the spoofer and not just a spoofee [ October 05, 2002, 05:21 PM: Message edited by: GJK ]
  19. I can host it for you Jeff if you can get it to me somehow. I'd setup an FTP here at home if I could get around all these damn firewalls.... I'd be interested to know what adjustments you did via Photoshop to achieve your look. I think I tried to get too fancy in my earlier versions of the grass mod, and my last version was just plain too simple but I like the look. Go figure.
  20. From the scenario depot. http://ns9.super-hosts.com/~dragonlair.net/combatmission/ Steve "MrSpkr" Hines SL5 Hill 621. Download that and give it a run through. Heck if you want a partner, email me, I'm up for early morning bloodshed
  21. It might be Bruno. I did go tile by tile and compare the original to my LG2 (light grass 2) and then adjust brightness accordingly. Actually, in almost every case a +15 was the setting. If you have photoshop, all you have to do is run a action script to go through each of the tiles and then adjust the brightness as desired. That's all I did for this version. I played the just released SL5 Hill 621 last night against my brother (get that one if you haven't already!) using LG3, and I think it looked just stunning. Not just because of my mod, it's a great map and the lighter grass with the dark green trees was just awesome.
  22. Blaine Whitney did a rain mod that takes out the thunder and just has the falling rain if that helps you out. You can get it on my site (link below) under "Blaine_Whitney_rain_sound_mod". As an aside, I used SoundForge for modding the various explosions/sounds but that might be a bit overkill for you if you're only looking to lower the sound. Don't get my mods if that's the case, the sound is definitely not lowered.
  23. Actually, that's just the stock wheat, but I've thought about making a "Crop Circles" mod just for $hits and Grins
  24. I just loaded up DD's. Looks really nice. Not sure if it's my screen, but it almost looks like a "frost" is overlayed: Mid-day, Novemember, Central It will be nice if it is adapted to CMBB as well, the higher elevation tiles are missing. Mine: Mid-day, Novemember, Central I think I see what you mean, Russia in November is not this green I wouldn't think Yeah, would be nice if you could select terrain sets for seasons aside from just winter/every other season, or can you?
