  1. You can. I am searching for the thread someone posted how but am coming up short. It involves selecting a HQ in a formation, and selecting single vehicle from the pull down menu on the left (or specialist team), and then adding a choice from the available squads/vehicles that appear where formations had been.
  2. Is there a difference between the SPW 250/1's? The first scenario of the German campagin, SPW 250/1 Halftrack 1, has one crew less - one passenger more than the other 3. Since it was mentioned that could be an oversight thought i'd mention it. As well, the dismounts have been odd on this map, often going 40m to the map edge. I never recalled this in SF, and tested in a QB, and both passengers and crewed simply exited the vehicle. Not sure if this was an isolated case, due to morale or another variable.

  4. As the poets of Brand Nubian once said "Punks jump Up to get beat down" Honestly I think I track leaders and gunners getting KIA/WIA more than I do soldiers, they rate higher than fellow squad members.
  5. My download corrupted somehow. Unfortunately the new download says 6 hours as well. Hopefully this one goes through un-corrupted.
  6. Pardon the duplicate if this has been brought up before: I had a platoon HQ take a casualty, the Commander, but the squad still retained the radio. None of the platoon can establish C2 both the icons (voice and sight), and the red dots are on all available links in the C&C chain except the last (BN?) The platoon is packed next to each other, but no dice. Any ideas on what you need to do once you lose a HQ commander to re-establish C&C?
  7. In the first reply, first answer was no to my "is the mechanics the same as in CMSF". I was hoping to find an explanation on how it changed. Figuring out spotting has not been easy for me in CMx2. I relied too much on recon by fire, often ending up with flattened cities as a result. Search is sort of ham stringed by the search rules (3 letters min, so C2 is out). Still looking tho, if anyone remembers past discussions, would appreciate a link

  9. Is the mechanics the same as in CMSF? Or has it changed at all? Is c2 still as important as it was? More eyes down range = better spotting, etc etc etc?
  10. IIRC no you can't (forums). I tried loading them up myself and it was a no go.
  11. Did anyone check the difference for having your HQ spot for the mortars, and having the actual teams spot? Is accuracy/effect that much different?
  12. I really hope the hot key for bail out has been changed. Can't recall exact numbers ( it was a ton), of pbem turns that went to hell because I accidently hit [ trying to issue button orders.

  14. Aye, if they announced gold within a day or two... MAYBE we would eee it within the estimates posted by BF (2nd week of may), but that doesn't seem likely. IMHO last half of may is being optimistic.
  15. Will all the speculation and anticipation going on, (checked hourly until new info was posted), what is the status of the game? Gold, or Pre-retail beta? For those that don't know what I am talking about there is a lead time from when the developers have a retail ready game (Gold), to get them on store shelves or in this case in the mail. There was mention of the manual still being worked on, which would indicate we still are in beta. IIRC battlefront has announced gold status before, and I haven't been able to find any announcements anywhere. Anyhow, any update would be appreciated.

  17. Is the game gold yet? I tried searching for it on the game page, but no dice. IIRC length of gold period is around 2 weeks? If it has gone gold does anyone know when that was?
  18. Thank you for chiming in. I thought I was trippin as I was positive when I first posted, and due to being alone, it seemed more likely I was wrong. At least now I can stop trying to figure out where I am screwing up. I have checked Fuchs too. Same deal. Checked rifle and non-rifle (HQ, MG, Sniper all the same). And just to be sure, dismounted rifle (starts with a G) squad, split off AT section to remove launcher. Re-mounted A team (non-AT), hit acquire and still no Launchers. 2 of the primary vehicles for German transport and 2 out of 2 are missing launchers in 1.30. I am confident any other vehicle that has Faust rockets are missing the Launchers. Steve, one question (line...its actually 2 with a bunch of commentary). It sounds like regardless of when it happened, something did happen. It sounds like German transports were supposed to have Pzfaust launchers. By removing the Launchers from infantry squads putting the Launchers back into the vehicles, gives Germany more AT capability and flexibility. Each Pzg rifle platoon will have +1 Panzerfausts assuming each vehicle gets 1. Each Company would gain +5, and so on and and so forth (well, guess there is just so on). Numbers don't convey how much flexibility being able to acquire launchers on non-rifle squads gives you. H ow does this effect balance? Are you able to tell when this happened, and if so did it happen late enough to not impact balance? This isn't the same as gaining +1 Jav per platoon, but its still significant, at least in my play style. I noticed the video walkthroughs, he didn't do much pre-mission prep. I do, I spend a considerable amount of time equipping AT options and loading up on ammo. This is huge for me, as I struggled with no AT options outside of rifle squads.
  19. Ok so what am I missing? I have a 1.3 install now, my last 1.21 opponent upgraded. I loaded up German Mech vs Syrian Mech and I got the same results as I did in 1.31. Non-Rifle squads were unable to acquire launchers from Marders, only rockets. Rifle squads could not see any launchers, only rockets. I split off an AT team from a Rifle squad, in case certain German units were restricted from using the launchers (last thing I could thing of), and loaded team of 4 with no Panzerfaust back into the Marder. Results were the same. Could take ammo, but no launchers. Dutch however do have launchers in the vehicles, and I remember thinking that was odd, Germans being less flexible than the Dutch with German weapons. Still, more inclined to look at what I am missing, as this many people remember launchers. But I honestly don't remember anything different than this. *edit* Forgot I had FRAPS. Pictures are small, but you can see the Rockets at the bottom and small arms at the top. Dutch you can see the Launcher up top. Can resize if needed. I did a search after being frustrated with Cover Arcs and found the below thread which helped answer a few questions. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=90226&highlight=Cover+ARc The advice to use wide extended range arcs will solve my main issue, spotting units outside the cover arc. 1 .But that brings up anther question I was unable to verify: Do arcs help with spotting? If they do, does a wide arc have any difference in regards to spotting as a focused one? I had another issue that was perhaps more frustrating than missing an opportunity to shoot a spotted enemy. I had a M1 that was tearing me up, and I had a T-90 that was within 15 seconds of getting a clear shot and could engage the M1. The entire hill had enemy units, so I set a cover arc to cover just the M1 from the last way point, and sent the turn. It turns out there was a Truck right next to it, and my T-90 decided to engage that instead of the M1 who was able to get the 1st shot and shake my crew long enough for the M1 to get off 2 additional shots and destroy it. 2.Since the truck was not spotted, was a cover arc the right decision given the situation? The other option I know of, is to use area fire at the square the M1 occupies. I have used this in the past, but with mixed results. Without testing this is also a issue that is perceived instead of being an issue. Anyhow - it reminded me of a tank who has a damaged targeting. - the lethality of the shooter is reduced. Just from my experience, it seemed that an undamaged tank, who uses direct fire, is more likely to kill or cripple its target. The overall issue though, is that the AI saw the truck with a 50 cal main(only) weapon as a higher priority/threat as the M1. Either that or it determined that a frontal shot at a M1 was futile. 3. Has anyone else noticed issued with target priority? PS. I had another topic that dealt with arcs, and the post was a little long, so I went back and picked out the questions with bold, spacing and numbering. I went back and focused the post a bit more, anyhow that is why it is formatted this way.
  22. I am looking forward to the next installment as well, especially when we start applying RL tactics to the game. I have fun win or lose, but part of the enjoyment of getting spanked in our COIN game, is I am able to see your initial description of Blue's mission plus your mid game advice applied. I had to look up some of what you said, and even armed with references, I was confused on how it applied in the game. Apologies to those following the thread, I commented before the repository kicked in. I should have mentioned I had a copy. Apologies if anyone went searching for the tutorial based on what I said.
