  1. Well when we can get out sweaty mits on it we can tell you.
  2. I used to get mixed up with if i have played the file or not.But we ended up making a couple of folders called incoming turns for ady and incoming turns for kev.So all you do is add the outgoing turns to the correct folder and then remove the done turns from you folder. simples. In fact if the other person is on and has drop box running you get a message saying files being removed. So create a few folders and add and remove the files as and when you need them.

  4. Well it would seem that some of the first court cases are going through.It would appear we have a Primary school mentor,a student,a graphic design, a soldier and other people with jobs. So so much for it being the poor and unemployed at rioting here. Its just wankers who should know better.We also have 3 dead Muslims(I think) who died trying to defend their business.It would seem that a car was deliberately ran over them.At least the father of them is not calling it a race issue.Good for him. Plus in Birmingham we have the first signs of the general public fighting back.They tried to attack a load of shops owned by Turks.Who got a load of men out and chased the wankers down the street and caught a few.They did the right thing by giving them to the police.

I too am worried about the reliance on electronic and electric devices.Simple things like why do i need an electric sun roof on a car when a bloody manual winder will do.In fact on one of my old cars the roof used warp if left in the sun and the sunroof would get stiff in one place.With a manual winder i could still open it.But would an electric one? I have a intermittent setting for my wipers.But the bloody thing has 7 speeds. I either use fast or slow.What a waste of time and effort to design and fit.In fact the more elctrics and electronics you fit then the more power you need so the batteries get bigger and the alternator gets bigger to keep up so more power engine power is needed to turn it.
  6. You need to be playing now mate to get the unlocks for things like rolled up sleeves.Or I suppose you could play on the vanilla servers which don't use unlocks.
  7. Yes I can get to play a bloody Yank again. At least I got to hear proper swearing and insults in MN.Plus the mix of tanks was much more fun. Bring on the modules for CMBN as i am bored of the limited scale already.I want my Churchills .

  11. I have just seen this on another forum written by an American. So if the cops are too stupid to not shoot each other what chance have the untrained civilians got Oh and it would seem the guy had a pistol licence so they thought they wouldn't take any chances.But he was unarmed when they tried to kill him and if having a pistol licence is a good enough reason to shoot some one then i would be very worried over there as most people have them don't they?
  12. This is the reason why i am not having as much fun as CM1.The lack of feed back on who is shooting who.Its like I'm disconnected from the game.I usually only find out that a unit like a tank is knocked out when i come to move it.

But therein lies the rub mate.Due to there being lots and lots of guns floating around in the states then the chances of an armed intruder are way higher (ditto muggings,road rage,theft,ETC).Because these very same people will know that there is a good chance that the innocents are armed.So they will go tooled up.So the general population feel that they "NEED" to be armed to make them "SAFER".So its a vicious circle. Where as due to there being many less guns (per population) floating around over here the the chances of an intruder(mugger/robber/road rager ) being armed are microscopic.So we don't feel the need to be armed as the threat level over here is way lower. So as I said above the issue of guns over here is a non event.We don't even think about then in day to day life. Do you feel the need to be armed 24/7? If so why?
  14. Well you just know and understand that you can't have one.I have never fired or held a loaded gun and I am not the slightest bit bothered by that fact.Guns are non issue for most Brits. In fact I don't see the attraction of owning them.Once you have one then what do you do with it.Oh that's right go to a range and shoot targets.Which i assume is fun for a short time.

Is there any chance of sorting out some system of notification of type,PBEM,single player only for any new maps or scenarios.As its getting hard to trawl through them already in the repository.Can they be sorted in to type ETC.Ditto the mod warehouse. Like wise on this forum.Is there any chance of a few sticky threads for the new scenarios which are listed by type of game and PBEM.Because at the moment this forum is just a mess.Once they start appearing thick and fast then it will only get worse.

  19. No mate Its boils down to a lot of things in CMx1 which made it fun have been removed or changed.

Well I must admit after playing a couple of games over the last few days.(and yes I know some of you will have knocked up thousands of hours on this game) and missing out entirely the CMSF game due to lack of interest I am finding this current game a lot less fun than the previous games. Part of it down the awe full interface with totally unintuitive lay out and key system. I seem to spend a lot of my time having to backspace through various units orders as I have inadvertently stupidly changed their orders due to clicking somewhere else on a different unit who just happens to be in command of them, This usually means if I don't spot it that I tell the Panther in the corner scenario to reverse down the road towards the enemy or I order my half tacks to drive out into the open and get blown up. I am also finding the lack of easy to see combat info a major off putter in my fun in this game.I am comparing this game to the original games here.In the previous games it was easy to see who was shooting at who(maybe the target lines helped) and that way you could swoop across the map and replay that part of the battle.but know I find that I am having to watch whole sections of a turn to find out why my tank/halftrack/unit has died(and we are only playing a small force for now till we get used to the game). I must admit for the fun factor I find the original games better.In fact I just wish this game was a improved version of them.But unfortunately it seems to have missed(for me anyway) some of the things that made the first games such a laugh to play against my mates. Maybe it trying to be too serious but for me I am playing a PBEM game at the moment but don't seem to have much interest in playing other wise.Which is a bad thing as i couldn't put the first games down (once I found them). Its not like the game is bad.In fact I think a very very good game is trying to get out at the moment.But the small niggles I have just take the enjoyment of playing it away from me.
  21. I used to play with all moves/command lines on.So I could see just by looking at the map. Simples. I just find the whole game more frustrating than the old ones.Bear in mind I have never played CMSF as the setting didn't attract me so its all new to me.Its miles better in most things but selecting and using the units is harder which is a backward step for more causal type war gamers like me and my mates.

So I can tell if my bloody HQ or FO units are in contact with my mortar team before I try to use them and they can't see the bloody target.I find this a major step back from the first games.The game is so much more difficult to play now due to having to click on every HQ unit to see who is in range. Or I double click the HQ (to find out who they are in commnd of)and then forget it has highlighted every bloody unit they are in command of and I the give the HQ unit a move order only to find that I have now overwritten my previous move orders for whole groups of units. When its all said and done I tend to play this game as a PBEM with a couple of mates and we are not a hardcore wargame nuts.So anything which makes it easier for me and my mates to play is a good thing.But this removal is a very very bad thing. AARRGGGHHH. what a major oversight guys.
