I am having a discussion on another forum and have been asked how many "ethnic" people fought for Britain in WWII.Can anyone supply some good info for me as my google foo seems to have failed.

I do love the look of the full military version(before all the added armour and crap).But the civilian ones just look s***.

And what a hideous looking thing it is.Why would any sane person want to drive one of these round? But then when you are sat in it you can't see how hideous it looks can you. And this is another one of those "off" road cars with all that nice bendable body work all round.The sort that a sane person would never ever take off road.What a pointless vehicle.

Just to expand your knowledge a bit more mate.If you look at the bottom right hand side of each post there is a quote button.Click on that and the bit you want is quoted in your reply. I also found out today that i may need to run stellite to stellite if i get my cam followers sprayed as well.I was told this is a big no no.But it would appear that you can run 2 parts together but you need differant grades of stellite.

I popped down to my local welder today to drop some tappet adjusters off which need stellite adding to the ends to repair them.While i was there chatting i noticed a monster alloy wheel of something like an X5 or similar. This was broken for about 12" round the rim. The rear flange had broken away and the rim was cracked half way across.I asked him about the wheel and he said the guy had been quoted £700 for a new wheel and it would arrive in a couple of months.So he was going to repair it for him.(at great cost i might add).The welder said you should have seen the bloody stupid low profile tyre he had fitted.It was like an elastic band stretched round the rim and was only about 2" thick. All this guy had done was drop his wheel into one of the many potholes littering our streets due to the snow we have had lately.So explain again what is the point of a 4X4 on normal roads?When you can't even drive them about on slightly rough roads without f***ing a £700 wheel.

Thats fine mate. But over in the UK we get about 2" and the country stops.This happens about once every 10 years so driving a 4X4 for the other 9 years in the hope it may snow once in a while is a bit sad.Plus you still get stuck in traffic jams if it snows as none of the tossers around here know how to drive in snow anyway.Last time it snowed while i was at work a 20min journey took me 2 hours due to imbeciles getting stuck. In fact 4X4 are now being fitted with low profile tyres to end any pretensions of off roading.My boss owns a BMW X5 and he says its ****e in the snow and on grass.So what is the point?

Yes that right mate.But over in the UK we have massive tax differences for "polluting" and non "polluting cars.So something like a Prius gets massive price decrease due to biased tax fixes yet its open to debate how green they are. We also have a scrapage scheme over her for over 10 years old cars.you get £2000 of the price of a new car.Because they are greener and do more MPG.But its just a green con as me running a 11 year old car is more eco friendly than me scrapping it and then buying a new one. Plus i always take MPG figures of major manufactures with a large pinch of salt.

No one is denying this mate.But the average Joe public wants a simple non turbo car to go forwards and backwards to the shops,school etc.Once Turbo's start getting fitted the idea of a simple and cheap to run and repair vehicle goes out the window.What about in 10 years time when you buy a turbo diesel with 100,000 on the clock.Which should be nothing for a diesel whats the torbo going to be like by then and how much to repair. Thats why most taxis and vans here are wanky old non turbo diesels (as they spend all there time going round towns)

Yes mate.Seat also did well with a diesel in our British Touring car racing the last few years.But and here is the rub. They had to change the rules to allow turbo's in.Only on Diesels though not the petrol ones.Because if they fitted turbo's to the petrol ones they they also would fly.In fact they would piss all over diesels. So yes diesels are slow but fuel efficient.But adding the magic of a turbo works wonders. But at what cost. Will a Turbo diesel still go round the clock if they are caned like they should be,and what is the point of fitting turbo's if you are not going to thrash the nutts off it.Because if you just pottle about then why bother with the added expense of a turbo and all the added issues they have(like needing clean oil and regular oil changes).As i said before when this came up i know of 6 people who have got or had turbo diesels and had to have new turbo's fitted(sometimes under warranty).In fact 2 have gone back to petrol engines as they were so fed up with diesels. Plus if you are caning the nuts of it and driving on the turbo then i bet the MPG goes through the floor.In an ideal world we could all drive round in a fuel efficient manner and get stupid MPG's out of any car.But i know if i had a turbo diesel i would make bloody sure i used it when ever possible.

Well lets see. Its a Tarantino film about a bunch of Jews going behind enemy lines and killing Germans in a fantasy WWII setting. Hum lets see.I hate Taratino .I think he is crap.So this film unticks all the boxes for me. I got bored with RD,Turned PF off after about 20 mins and have never bothered with any of his other films. Yet after watching a trailer for one of his films that looks total bollocks you expect me to go and see it? Yeh right mate.Its my loss.But i think i can live with that. If i want a fantasy WWII film i will stick kellys Heroes in and watch that.

Yet you still went to see it? Sorry mate but if i think trailer is crap thats it for me.Nothing i have read about afterwards makes me think i did the wrong thing by not seeing it. But then thats my loss and i suppose i shall have to live with that:p

I had already decided not to see this after about 3 minutes of the trailer.

I think there may be a design flaw.Like the fact there seems to be 2 holes in the front plate.
