  1. Directive 94/62/ec still doesn't explain why Il sturmovik, Neverwinter nights and other games i have bought recently have been in small cardboard boxes with FULL printed manuals. I'm sorry, i had no faith in CDV in the first place,(Don't like them or the majority of their products,)Perhaps BFC will find a new partner for distribution in europe because going on what happening just now, CDV don't seem to have any interest whatsoever in the consumers..
  2. If you are in Britain, go and get a copy of this months PC Gameplay magazine as it has a big round up on thse exact cards and explains which 128 meg are better than their 64 meg equivalents. It's quite interesting because ome of the 128 upgrades are actually slower than the 64 meg ones so you have to be care full. Personally, if you have limeted funds get a gforce 3 ti as they are not much more than a hundred quid now. there are still very few games that get close to pushing them to their capacity.
  3. Actually, amazon.co.uk still has NO listing for CMBB (or CM2,as many companies seem to be calling it,) but you should be able to get it from special reserve or somewhere like that. Whether this is because CDV are too lazy to actually confirm the release date for anywhere outside Germany I don't know. I think they want us all to buy Sudden Sh*t* 2 instead...
  4. If you meen a 256 meg card then save your pennies for the new G Force 5 which i think will have 256 meg. the first ones are going to be released very soon apparently. I saw a picture of a girls face that was cooked up by the tech demo in a magazine, the term "photorealistic" does NOT do it justice. It will also be compatible with DX 9 and will probably cost you a scary amount of money. nvidia arejust going crazy, i meen how long ago was it the g force 3 were the future of graphics. and there's me with my crappy old gforce2 mx!
  5. "It's really distressing to spend hours fighting over a crossroads, a hill or a stone farmhouse, capture it (after suffering substantial losses)and then in the next scenario in the operation finding that you have to do it all over again. " Yeah, I'm sure a lot of troops in WW2 thought exactly the same thing
  6. With the new Static operations, city maps and street fighting are going to be so intense!!
  7. Both Game and Special reserve have the release date in Britain as the 20th wiht a price ( I think,) of 29.00. However I did see an advert for CM2 (as they called it,) in PC Gamer which said it was out in october. CDV will clarify this at some point....
  8. There are four different levels of 'DIG IN' that can be set by the scenario creater in the editor. Creating foxhole posistions is number three. in the demo only number one or two is used which is simply that your troops will dig foxhole where they are unless, in the set up turn, you use the 'dig in' command to tell them not to. They have to keep some stuff to blow uway even more in the final game!
  9. There is an advert for 'Combat Mission 2' in this months PC Gamer here in Britain that says " out in October". Full page ad as well. Do you think it's getting released late in europe so that sales of the dire sudden strike 2 are unaffected?( another of CDV's games,)
  10. I've played yelnia stare three times now and yet to lose a single tank. the most i got was some internal flaking on one, nothing else. Iwas going to make a post about how awesome the T-34's are, they just chewed up the infantry every time, first with HE then those nasty cannister shells. I thought the german anti tank guns were rubbish when i tried as the axis, after 1 shot the russian tanks just wasted them. Give me the 34 any day!
  11. Well, personally i think i'll be going into town at dawn on the 20th to buy the darn thing... I would be far to impatiant to wait for it arriving from across the pond....
  12. That is great news. for some reason Amazon UK still do not have it listed although Amazon Germany certainly do ( listed as CM2 as well).
  13. "I think a new CMBB forum will go live probably this weekend. Madmatt" Nowthats service!
  14. In my experience, there might be problems with using a debit card to purchase a product from america or canada from europe( or britain in particular). Switch cards and solo will probably not work, a mastercard i am not sure about but it will probably okay.
  15. I think it would be useful if once you had surrounded an enemy unit you could have an HQ unit offer them a chance to surrender.EG: your panzer grenadier company has surrounded russian infantry if, say, platoon size. istead of charging in and finishing them off, you command your HQ unit to make a formal offer for the russians to surrender, whether or not they do could be based on the experience, and health of the russian unit, how fanatic they are etc whether they have officers with them etc. I know this is a minor detail but i think it would be sort of cool....
  16. I agree. AI is not going to be as good as playing human right now but i've had some stonking games against the AI in CMBO. Sure, the AI does not always do things the way a guy with years of experience on the battle field might but who does.
  17. I love the idea of two human player aside. Just imagine if a way could be implemented so that there was at least limited FOW for players on the same side, Sort of like, you know your sister company was on that hill over there but not 100 percent where. This would force you to use really good communication between you and your buddy, either that or get into all sorts of friendly fire stuff or get taken apart by a counter attck . imagine if you could have a team: three people each running a Batt and a guy running the regimental arty and deciding who gets the reinforcements etc). Now come on, would that not be the most kick *ss team based online game yet?
  18. Fanaticism levels for should certainly be higher for the SS than you would normally find in CMBO, especially the SS units in the eastern front. Those guys were hard in every sense of the word especially when it came to ideology etc. perhaps SS units should have an automatic fanatic bonus straight off, i think this would make it fairly realistic.
  19. I got taught how to fire a toy rifle by a couple of mad Gurkhas when i was about ten but i don't suppose that counts
  20. I almost started crying when it reached the cut off in the demo, it's as much fun as my old copy of clash of steel but so much better to look at. when you start considering your options carefully you get real caught up in it.wasn't sure about it at first but BTS have got my money alright!
  21. cheers, i will go and have a look right now. ta!
  22. evening all, since I got the game a few weeks ago i've been messing around with the editor and having a l;augh with it but i quite fancy doing some historical maps. does anyone know a good resource on the net for finding decent maps of the areas fought over during the war? i've being looking all over the place and haven't been able to find any... I also have to say as someone new to the forum that this place is great, interesting, educational and daft as a dog. keep it up!!
  23. How does the editor do that with the buildings? i haven't seen that before?
