  1. I know this question will leave me open to a lot of sarcastic comments from all those witty CM-ers out there, but when, heaven forbid, you're not on a Combat Mission, what other war game (actually, I prefer the term "strategic study") is your second choice?
  2. antawar, Try "Directive # 3" as the Germans. Take your time with the set-up (always), read the briefing carefully, and above all, be patient and take your time. You'll have a blast. Then, after you're feeling mighty tough, try it as the Russians.
  3. I'm fairly new to CM. I love BO, the Demo BB and can't wait for the full game. The only thing that I don't like is the operations - or maybe i'm doing something wrong? It's really distressing to spend hours fighting over a crossroads, a hill or a stone farmhouse, capture it (after suffering substantial losses)and then in the next scenario in the operation finding that you have to do it all over again. Please advise.
  4. I don't guess anyone is going to write any mods for it, are they?
  5. Really great news!! I'm newbie, but not so newbie as to not recognize CMBO as the greatest combat simulation ever. Can't wait (but will) for CMBB. At the risk of causing a scream heard around the world, what's the next one to be - Europe 1939-41, North Africa, or Asia? Thanks again all.
  6. Just finished "All or Nothing." What an absolutely super piece of work. I'm ready to start it again - on the same side (Germans)! Only one glitch I noticed: Re: the primary bridge. During the (German)setup I thought, ah hah, why don't I put my flamethrower behind one of the bridge's large stone support pillars. That way he can hide and then zap at point blank range whoever comes down the road that passes under the bridge. No joy. As far as LOS is concerned, he might as well be standing on top of the bridge. Other things -trees, buildings, etc. block LOS, why not these pillars? or am I (newbie) missing something? P.S. CMBO is far and away the best WWII combat simulator I've ever seen; nothing else even comes close. Also, while I'm passing around thanks - a big one to the webmaster for SPEED of access to the homepage, forums, etc.; a search engine that works everytime; and an all around great layout.
